Anybody go to Paris? Apparently Joe played Midnight.

So T are you going to both Atlantic CIty and Lake Tahoe? that's one big road trip if you are.

Cheese101, the Mrs and I are planning to attend the Tahoe show. Sort of a B-Day present for me (9/1). I'll let you know the certainty later this summer. Freddy

i don't think it's necessary to present the Blade Runner movie masterpiece, & that's not really my subject of the day, but i think about Mr Vangelis:

Blade Runner Theme

The man is really great. If some here love keyboard things.

Mithodeia

& maybe mr slanshroom will like this one:

Song of the seas

Cap steve : saw you talk about poetry.. Hölderlin is the SHIT. He was the language. After him, god, something or nothing.

& on the poetic subject, Stéphane Mallarmé has shown the deep relation between Poetry & Music, Music meanning etymologically, relation, & poetry, creation.

He has analysed that the part of mysterious which stays instinctive in music arises as thought in poetry, but is still mysterious. The great intellectuals of his time were almost all lost in front of his incredible genius.

But Debussy had catched the point, & composed some music to celebrate Mallarmé's poetry:

Après midi d'un faune (prélude)

It has taken to me around 10 years to be able to read Hölderlin & Mallarmé. I mean, to understand a few their thoughts.

Happy birthday to our webmaster! I'm not sure how many people know this, but you can watch him grow up -- and change hairstyles ;-) -- by mousing over the timeline on the front page of his website.

Pip Satrini - I love how there's a "nobody" in our T2J group shot, just above the heads of Joan and Brian...haha.
cosmic_ape - Where are you sitting for the LA show? I don't know if you've been to that venue before, but there isn't a bad seat there.

I bought tickets to go to the Berkeley show with my family, but I might try to snag a single ticket for LA later on...we'll see.

Listening to: Sammy Hagar - Karma Wheel

Does anyone know this song? It's the last one on his Not 4 Sale album...the vibe of the song is pretty similar to Learning To Fall.

I like...

Pip- Fat g strings....:-/..:-0

Tyler- Welcome

Roo- Hope you all are feeling better soon

Skippy- We don't care about makeovers here. We just love to be entertained. As for mine,..First I have to find spare time alone and be able to relax plus the fact I have never posted a vid.... have to set up a cam so that when one of those creative spurts hit, I can be ready. Probably next winter when I have some time on my hands and hopefully less stress.

Cappy Steve- ditto on Jethro Tull.

Michelle- If you saw that sweaty little loud mouth kid running around the playground re-creating episodes of "The Rookies" and "S.W.A.T." you probably couldn't have resisted either. :-0 THe Farrah shirt had to look really out of place...Ah the Wonder Years.

Satriella- Thanks for the review. Sounds like great memories.

It's almost 3:30. I have to start loading trucks @6:30..must nap

Later no coffee yet .Burly..................

.....and then there was a loud, sucking sound....

Anyways.... I can't believe what shameless jackass Joe Jackson is...

When he was being interviewed before the BET Awards the reporter was asking him how MJ's mom and siblings were holding out. And his answer to that was to promote (live on TV) some blue ray enterprise he was staring with his buisness partner. What a joke. "You beat the shit out of your kids when they were growing up"..."I hope you don't see a dime of your son's fortune"..... Worthless turd !!

Skippygirl:2 busy being a dad i,m afraid so no CF concert for me :( I like the poet & musician concept the idea of working with an artist thats not a musician appeals to me, i,d say yer bro in law must be very knowledgable in flamenco to pull all that off with dancer.I flirted once with gypsy painting & music in the same way but she eventually left for Madrid because Barcelona is a difficult if not impossible place for artists to survive, especially musicians, thats why many move west where there is a healthy and vibrant scene

Cappy:Cheers i,ll look into it

Thanks for the well wishes all, swine flu is a bugger, but we seem to be coping well... It seemed to hit me the hardest! Lol.

Also, (shameless plug) I'm exclusively reading and writing on T2J with my iPhone app. It's so convenient! Much easier than via web. :)

Wonderfully eccentric is Ian Anderson but also an astute businessman. I think he was one of the pioneers of salmon farming in the bonnie land. His music was always a bit cult-ish and he is self deprecating and has some very tongue in cheek lyrics. For me he was a great entertainer and always seemed to have fun on stage, I think it's a shame he never really got the recognition his music (and musicianship) deserves.
