I am really pissed. Why have Chickenfoot played 2 shows after the Madrid gig, but cancelled the Copenhagen show on Wednesday? There is no info about cancelled show in Hamburg tonight. I am really diasappointed, was looking forward to this for the last couple of months.

ELPP: I do not consider myslef a big DT fan. I like what they do a lot, but usually I find it a little "too much" of everything. I mean, they're great and wonderful musicians, but their music is too intense, imo. Sometimes I just want to breath and the song keeps going and going and evolving... It's hard to keep up sometimes :) But "Best Of Times" showed me a DT I didn't know that well. Petrucci plays one of the best solos I've ever heard :)

Finally got my CF CD! :))))

Great rock, definitely!

You can tell that Joe is the driving source of inspiration and it's also funny to find some resemblances with EVH's playing, specially on the rythm parts.

Although this is a great rock'n'roll record, I look forward for the next works from these guys. I suspect once the project becomes more mature they will be able to expand a little more the project's musical landscape.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I feel they never took many chances in exiting their "confort zone" and I feel the Chicken potential has not been totally unleashed :)

Hope you guys don't hate me :)

"Future In The Past" is by far my fav!

Beijos e abraços, VP

PTROCKER: I would recommend that you get their greatest hit CD. (called like that, Greatest Hit), if you haven't already. It's 2 CD's, one with the heavy rockin' tunes and the other one is only "ballads" and lighter songs. Having said that, Best of Times is unique in their catalog, specially with the story behind it (Mike Portnoy saying goodbye to his recently deceased dad).

And you're definitely not the only one who thinks that way about CF. Several other forumers have come to similar conclussions. I personally like the album for what it is, a rock record to jam and have fun with. They never intended this record to be an all out shredfest. We'll see which way they want to take it on future releases.

Get well soon (again), Chad!

Hamburg, Copenhagen shows cancelled

I hope he's OK...part of me wants the band to just cancel the rest of the European tour, but the last two shows are festival dates with shorter sets. So maybe they aren't a problem.

michelle - Congrats to your son on finishing the album! :-)
Phydeaux_3 - Thanks for the new music suggestions...I'll check 'em out in a bit.
Skippygirl - "would love to go to Tahoe but it's a 24 hr flight"

Well, go to the Berkeley show instead!!! It's a bit closer to Australia, so it'd probably only be 22 or 23 hours. ;-)

Satriella - If you send something to Joe's management office in SF, he should get it eventually (whenever he's back from the road). I thought there was an address on this site somewhere, but I can't find it now.

Maybe look around on Google, or dig through recent album liner notes and see if there's an address listed somewhere?

tetovo - There is info about both cancellations on the Chickenfoot site now (see my link above).
Listening to: Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam - Coming Up For Air (current song: Taste Of Danger)

This is a very good album (produced by Peter Frampton, which is cool), but I think I prefer the earlier Roll Away. It's more raw.

I still think everyone should buy both albums, though...

Mckenna, don't make me come over there and hurt you >:( and you know I WILL too!!

Webby Jon, thanks for the info, I knew u could 'splain it muuuuuuch better than me, LOL!!! And glad yer kids like the magnets, those were from chelle and the mug was from me...it was a moment of sheer genius/inspiration in the satch chat one night, chelle found the pic and well....the rest...is history, LOL!! My magnet is still proudly displayed on my fridge as well :) So yer the WGW fer short, lol!!

And if yer still looking for the right show to put up, the road test one in San Fran would prolly do nicely, LOL!!

Austin, I love that u torture mc with In-n-Outs, keep up the good work!!

Cappy Steve....ahem.....well....this posse member shall remain quiet on the big-ass issue, since I've got one of those meself, LOL!!! I just know yer breathin a huge sigh of relief to have dodged a bullet :D But all in fun, yep, think we can handle that :)

Aww, poor Chad....poor the rest of the CF gang too, cuz I know they all wanna play but want "Will" to be okay too :( Might be wise to just rest up fer the next few weeks, although I hate to think of the disappointment the fans must feel at the cancelled shows. Things happen though :(((

Chelle, good news on A, glad he's finally feeling better. Dr. Cheese sez no one else in the house is allowed to come down with anything pig-related. THATS AN ORDER!!!

My puter has a major nasty-ass virus, so I shall now blow away again. Ooooo I heard that sigh of relief from y'all, LOL!

Blue_Moon - I don't mean to sound selfish, but really...this European tour isn't much more than the US Road Test tour was. It sounds like the band intends to return later for a proper European tour, so I think if it's a serious injury it'd be smart to cut their losses and cancel the last two shows...that'd give Chad a full month off, which is better than the alternative of two more gigs, then surgery and six to nine months off. Just sayin'...

Satriella / anibur - That address looks legit to me. I've Googled it and I get a lot of "Bill Graham Presents"-related things, which is a good sign...although I don't see anything newer than 2006.

I know Live Nation has bought up a lot of venues/promoters/management companies in recent years, so I don't know if it's still a current address.

I found the old FAQ page I was thinking of (from 2000); it has a Santa Rosa address listed. I'd go with the SF one, though...maybe the webmaster can chime in with an answer?

I am guessing that Sir Joseph is not too pleased to have to cancel shows because of basically "band shenanigans". That is obviously a first ever for Joe...... Well that in addition to trying to keep Chad's pants up and his sox on his feet.....

I'm with you Austin...we want that big US tour to happen. We want Chad to be well...no more injuries. And I'm sad fer the fans over there, just hoping I'm not gonna be one of the sad ones over HERE too! Mc can feck off!! >:(

Sorry to hear they've had to cancel more shows, people who had tickets must be very disappointed but it sounds like an injury that is going to have to be given time to heal, and as Austin says with a US tour coming up it may be that they keep to a minimum in Europe or else the US shows could be in danger of being cancelled too.

Well, Joe's really in a band now! He now needs 4 people to be fit to play.

Austin - gee Berkley sounds great, can you shout me the airfare and tell my boss I need 2 weeks off? :0)

Ole Cappy has a belly full of beer so it must be time for a few musings!

Monterrey Trace - The "Conch's clique" comment was a tongue in cheek gag on several levels. It's good to see you in good spirits and having fun. At least I hope you are and not just pretending, i'm sure you know what I mean. As ever you have my best wishes.

Do The Burgers - You may see the European tour as being not much more than the "road test" but a lot of us 'Europeans' already feel a little short changed at the lack of gigs. Having said that, although the album is a reasonably good effort, I feel slightly short changed because I feel that collectively CF could be absolutely awesome. To enable that though I think the dynamic will need to change.

Chadders - The world of music needs a new supergroup, in my opinion the rock scene has become a little stale and if the others let Joe drive the band forward we may be about to get something very special.

Everyone else - Have a nice night, i'm feeling rather beery!

mikesb - Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems like an injury that could have happened to any drummer at any time...I don't think it's related to Chad cutting himself on the drums in London, him throwing his floor tom at Sammy, or any of his other crazy antics. I think this could have just as easily happened to Jeff on a Satch solo tour.

Cappy Steve - My comment was based on Joe saying he wants to go back to Europe to do a proper tour after the US leg. I'm thinking well beyond the show I'm seeing in September. Cancelling two festival gigs to allow proper healing time would mean those cities, and others in Europe, might get full shows during the next (longer) tour.

If they play the next two gigs and Chad gets REALLY hurt, that means no more Chickenfoot anywhere for at least the rest of the year. And that could mean he'll start writing RHCP stuff while he's recovering, which means we all have to go even longer without live Chickenfoot.

I don't know the specifics of Chad's injury and I'm not a doctor, so maybe I'm being too cautious. I don't know...short festival shows are easier to play than full headlining sets, so maybe Chad will be fine.

Blue_Moon - Thanks for sharing...I like that Buckethead song a lot. Not that it matters, but I notice it has two titles (the picture says Homing Beacon but the file says Landing Beacon).
Well, I'm off to the gym in a bit. Despite all the alcohol I drank and chips and other snacks I ate on the 4th, I managed to lose 3.5 pounds between my trips to the gym Thursday and Sunday. I wonder how much of it I've gained back since yesterday, somehow...
