M - lots of positive hug energy from Australia to Vivian. I may be naive but I sorta have faith that anything to do with the heart is beatable by doctors these days, I hope I'm right, although even if that is the case it's still scary when it's one of your own. Big hug for you too, M. stay strong.
DTS - I concur with your thoughts on the Paris tickler.
Yippeeee it's FRIDAY, drinks after work with buddies and major wind-down mode.
burly - how you doing buddy and how's your daughter coming along?

jj2009- I have an RG1570, plays well. I'm a big guy and really don't have the touch to play the sensitive neck. I prefer a thicker neck like on the Les Paul or Stratocaster. Not reall y cut out for the hotrods.
Chelle- best wishes and prayers
Skippy- She is much better, got a new hard cast and a knee brace that fits. Can't bear weight until Jan. 1 and the foot will never be right, but she's alive. Other than that everything is normal craziness as usual. How are things down under?
Aye for Chickenfoot world tour everywhere!!

The DVD preview that's appeared:
There's a lot of annoying quasi artistic crap there. Joe's guitar artistry is more than enough. Some are going to get a headache from this video style, and epileptic are going to get a seisure. A normal registration but in HD like Steve Vai's new DVD would be cool.
Different camera angles: fine, some extra coloring: fine. But Joe's eternal little man drawings don't add anything for me. 'Fast editing' to make something more exciting (which is allready exciting) is not the right way to go, it's childish directing which people see through, and takes away from reliving the concert experience. If you must add something to make it stand out extreme close-ups of players hands would be the way to go. Just my 2 cents...
What's unique about it? It may be the first time I buy (only) the CD instead of the DVD. Which would be the first time my Joe collection is incomplete.

To all concerned :- It seems some of you are not overly fussed with the look of the Paris preview,so here's my two coins worth:
Joe is not just musically creative,he's also artistically creative and this may just be another artistic avenue he's chosen to dabble in. After all, wouldn't he have the final say on what he creates? Accept it for what it is...a marvellous creation from a truly marvelous creator!

Wanted to say hi to the fans of Satch and to Satch himself. I met Satch backstage in Pensacola, FL for the Flying In A Blue Dream tour. And I must say I was very overwhemled at the man's genius. And to learn that he taught Steve Vai was a more impressive feat than most guitar players could ever do. I'll be leaving posts here when the opportunity arises. Hope everyone is having a great day and Satch keep up the great work with Chickenfoot. It is an AWESOME piece of work.

Joe, What fun you've been having with Sammy, Mike and Chad in Chickenfoot! All these collaborations you have had with musicians over your career has definitely made you a richer (in spiritual terms) guitarist, musician and all around human being! I hope you take time to relax with your family during the holidays and do more of what inspires you as time goes on. I'm still waiting to hear more about the Live in Paris DVD and it's release date.....it's got to be excellent since it's taking almost 2 years to perfect and release.
My love to you and yours,
GoldenGirl2

if the DVD has those sketchy thingys all over at all times, it will be having a soloist playing over a tune non stop, disregarding melody and what the singer and other band members are doing...
I don't know much about music, but I've been a visual artist for a while and some of those effects are the equivalent of a three year old in your face asking "Why?" 375,000 times...
Those things need to be treated like guitar fills in a vocal tune. My unsolicited two cents...

Hi Joe-
If you have a moment to read this, and join us ( The Bay Area Music Community) at SF City Hall Monday morning, I'm sure your support would be well noted by the nut-jobs who are trying to close the clubs.

BTW- Haven't spent much time in your forums, but I've seen you tons of times all the way back to Cotati Cabaret days. Always amazing and enjoyable! Thanks, E
