It's kinda nice to come to a place and read mostly good thoughts about Michael. I know a lot of people are getting tired of hearing about him already, but I'm not one of them. The man is get about 15 years of respect that he was never shown all wrapped into a couple of days. The only annoying part to me is how sad it is that it took his death to remind people how important and influential he really was. Love him or hate him, he was one of the biggest musical/performing forces that anyone ever has or ever will see. I personally never bought into the whole pedophile thing. Michael was different, and the world doesn't accept "different". Michael didn't have a childhood. What little childhood he had was on the abusive side. He spent his whold life being criticized and put down by adults. So with all this, naturally he felt more comfortable and less threatened by children. The molestation accusations were just some parent who saw dollar signs. Just like most of the stuff that celebrities get accused of. The plastic surgeries... he was openly self-concious about his looks. Yes he took it too far, but that's his decision. And the change in skin color... This is one of the most outrageously funny things i've ever heard is that people actually thing you can change your skin color. Especially by bleaching it. It's called vitiligo people. Look it up lol. I know this is a long rant about Michael Jackson. This is the only Michael related post I've made anywhere. But I guess this is just me appreciating Michael. I'm only 21, so I wasn't around when he was at his peak with thriller and bad. But I've always like him. I've always stuck by him. And I've always looked at the logical explanations about his personal life unlike 75% of the world who bought into the media's bull$*&t. The bottom line is that he was very talented, he did things in the music world that will probably never ever be done again. He and his family deserve respect right now, not tasteless jokes. I just hope he finds the peace that he so long sought for in this life, in the next. Rest in peace Michael. I will miss you, So will the world.

So now off of the MJ subject, sorry about the rant by the way, I'm still new to this board. How is everybody doin. It's pretty cool to see a whole bunch of Satch fans in the same place sharin ideas and convo's. Little bit about me... I'm 21 years old. I've been playin guitar since age 8. I was first introduced to satch by my uncle at about age 10. He is a big satch fan. And he gave me the first "G3" video with satch, steve vai, and eric johnson for my birthday. Needless to say... I've been hooked ever since. Anybody wanna talk or know anything else, I'll be watchin the posts. Glad to meet everybody and I hope to be included in some converstations sometime.

Cappy:Invaluable memories skipper long may they continue

I,m working with a spanish poet at mo.I like this idea of guitar improvisation with poetry, he talks about people & the way they are.He has many years of experience with really poor & very rich n all inbetween so i figured is it really that important a person can sing?¿

Open mic sessions start in a couple of weeks

Slan - Lots of folks who are not very good singers have had good careers "singing". I reckon sometimes it's not so much whether a person can sing but what they sing about and the way they do it. I suppose it always helps if there are gifted musicians assisting.

Slan - Have you ever seen the lyrics for Tull's album Songs from the wood? I haven't looked at them in over twenty years, vinyl sleeve and all that, but recall some pretty amazing poetry.

Cappy:I,ve listened t some early Tull around 30 years ago, i remember i think the track was called, we used to know?¿ but no, dont have much knowledge of the band.Wot y recommend, songs from the wood or something else?

Scuba:I think whats important is as times change somewhere someone is walking the walk & writing about it as each day passes. This man has a lot t say about all people good & bad in a respectful manner. It just makes a pleasant change to meet an artist who isnt up their own arsehole 24/7

Satriella - Thanks for posting your review. The other ones came in a few days ago, but I was still waiting for yours. ;-)

The "old song of Sammy's" they played is Bad Motor Scooter, from the self-titled Montrose album (1973). If you like Chickenfoot you'll love that album as well.

t_huth21 - I may have already said this, but if not...welcome!
elpp - Haha...that's great! This just in: Van Halen fires Sammy. ;-)

Eddie gets married

Surprisingly, given that the current incarnation of Van Halen has completely strayed from the Sammy Hagar catalog, the bride walked down the aisle to the Sonus Quartet’s rendition of OU812’s “When It’s Love.”

What I'm wondering is...who's Janie?

Anyways, I came across this song today. I forgot how much I loved that ol' Joan Armatrading cassette tape I used to have.

If you too would like stupidly shiny hair like mine (see Satriella's photos) sod the pantenne and use dove....

Satriella - yep, nice pics, especially the first two in your album. They look exactly like two that are in my camera ;-b Are they at the front as they take pride of place LOL?

The beer was half drunk time you saw it, tasty it was

Igneous - it was a classic and you should been there joining in the fun! Where were ya? Didn't you know that already (about cycling)? Same for chefs too...

Cheese - looks like a GA. Are you & chelle (& whoever) gonna pitch a tent to beat the Sammyettes to the front of the queue?

Do The Stu - it would be nice if it was easier to plan yes. Would be ultra cool if we could make a global gathering, but I understand logistics, finance, etc. Still you never know. Imagine the group photo from that

Oh yes, cop chick photo... didn't you promise you'd post it when you found it?

Blue Moon - which notes are you on about in Echo? The verse line? Play it wherever really, I'm sure I play loads of things differently to how they're meant to be done....

Roo - sorry to hear that mate. Bad enough for one person to get it, let alone all of ya. Hope you kick it as quickly as possible
