Happy father's day to all, I celebrated mine by working 6 damn hours!! But in exchange I'll get Tuesday off, so I can go and buy Dream Theater's new CD as soon as the store opens. Time to blow up my car speakers!!!

Happy birthday Al!

Skippygirl: I think one of the teams was wearing white with blue and maybe some red. The team that lost was blue and has a name that ends with City. Can't remember much more than that, really...Geez, I'm making it sound like I was totally drunk while watching it!! I wasn't, I swear! LOL

Currently listening (and watching): Within Temptation - Black Symphony DVD / Song: Memories (Sharon's voice does something to me, she's cute but not the hottest of girls so I know it's not that. I could listen to her sing all night).

Happy birthday, Al! May you have a Summer Song-filled evening while your friends in the US eat In-N-Out... ;-)

cheese101 - This might not mean anything because tickets aren't yet officially on sale, but I've seen some listings on ticket broker sites that seem to indicate the Chickenfoot show in Berkeley will have assigned seating.

That bugs me because now we'll probably end up paying more for tickets and only get an average view, but on the plus side I guess it means we won't have to wait in line all day.

I'm still hoping there's a chance I'm wrong...like maybe the brokers get the same "seats" to all shows so it's just a default listing. I guess we'll for sure come Wednesday. Argh...

scubadaz - Yeah, that Facebook comment was a joke.
burly / michelle - Awesome...haha.
elpp - I saw Within Temptation open for Lacuna Coil back in 2007...they put on an amazing show. I can't wait to see them again.

So they do come to the US, cool! My 2 cents, Sharon kicks Cristina's @$$ with her eyes closed and a vocal cord turned off.

I was not impressed (actually disappointed) when I saw Lacuna Coil a couple years back at Ozzfest. Her voice was rather weak, just a run-of-the-mill singer.

elpp - OK.........there isn't any AFL team with the word "city" in their name, maybe next time you see a game make a note of the teams and then post me OK? I follow the Richmond Tigers by the way so if you get to see a game, they wear black tops with a yellow diagonal strip across the front. They have by far and away the best team song too ;0)

Ally wally - are you having a nice birthday?

Yeah Austin....I dunno yet what I'm going to do. I wish they'd put the rest of the damn shows up so a person could decide where to go BEFORE tickets go on sale for the Berkeley show dammit!! Cuz if there's one closer, or in a better location, it'd be nice to know that so said person could buy tickets to the right show.

And now if it's seated....sigh....clusterfawk.....

Quick post....

Is there any reason why I can't/shouldn't try and add a 22 fret neck to an old strat copy (that has 21 frets) I have that needs a bit of 'updating'?

Also, if I drop out the stock pups, any recommendations for what I can/ought to put in?

Suspect the bridge needs replacing with something a little nicer too.... anyway, there's your starter questions

Cheers

Alan--Happy birthday, young man! Have fun and stay safe. Look out Cork......here comes Al McKenna!

Michelle--You are fortunate to have lived a life free from insecure men's truckloads of judgmental bullshit. Having lived in regressive Orange County and Imperial County, I couldn't skip stones across water without hearing some Neanderthal make some rude comment questioning my gender. "Nice girls don't..(fill in the blank)." As silly as "Real men don't (fill in the blank)." FFS, who gave these people license to judge a young girl? Do people really wear signs on their faces that say, "Please judge me"?

Austin--Steve asked me to view ticket prices to the Berkeley CF show. He says the whole thing could be too expensive considering his dodgey pay from the Home Depot. Sometimes they pay and sometimes they don't.

elpp - Yeah...that tour was booked as the "Hottest Chicks In Metal" tour, with a few other bands on the bill as well. Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil were the only two who were any good though.

I love Lacuna Coil, and I thought they were good live the few times I've seen them. What bugs me most is the style of their last few albums. They haven't "sold out" or anything like that, but their music has definitely become less complex as they've become more popular.

And now when they play live, they stick to their last three (less interesting) albums almost exclusively...ignoring their earlier awesome stuff.

Here is a shot of half of the band doing an acoustic performance at a music store in West LA (Satch has done stuff there in the past). Cristina sounded great there.

cheese101 - Argh again...ticket broker sites are also telling me Chickenfoot will be playing at the Gibson Amphitheater in LA on September 27. I'd prefer this venue to Berkeley if Berkeley is assigned seating. But I don't want to skip the Berkeley on-sale if this one hasn't yet been announced...what if it never happens?

The guys have always said they wanted to book a 30-35 show tour going until September 30. On Rockline (which was pre-recorded, granted), Joe or someone said they'd do 34 dates. The tour schedule as it is now is only 27 shows. I don't know if they can fit another 7 shows into the gaps, but I think it's a safe bet more are coming.

I'd hate for us both to buy Berkeley tickets and then find out they're playing in LA and Seattle. Ugh...
