"Chickenfoot, the supergroup formed by bass legend Michael Anthony with Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani and Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith, relies on a Peavey backline for its self-titled debut album, released on June 5."

Mikey formed Chickenfoot?

Still not good enough :-/ Get HR on the line. They're fired!

thanks Austin

Never liked Michael at all. Was never my thing, but ya hate to see anyone die. Any of the 150000. I've lost 2 people in my family in the last 6 months. It's been tough. My nana is 97 and surely won't last too much longer. She'll be the hardest to see go. The rock of our family.

Dateline NBC is already running a 2hour special on MJ and Farrah. Amazing how fast they can get all this together.

michelle - That press release has been rewritten so many times in the past few days...it's all a big mess.

I think the first version said Satch formed Chickenfoot, which is actually the least correct as he was the last to join.

If Peavey's HR people are fired, can I have their job?

hybes - I'm not sure how well it's known outside of journalism, but obituaries for public figures are often assembled ahead of time, and updated as the years go by. One of my journalism professors at school used to work for the Christian Science Monitor, and he wrote the obituary for Richard Nixon years before Nixon actually died.

There was a story a few months ago when some website (Bloomberg?) accidentally published a draft of their obituary for Apple's Steve Jobs. And there have even been a few instances where a journalist has died before the person he/she wrote about...if editors don't catch that, the obits go to print and appear to be written from the grave.

Listening to: Michael Jackson - Black Or White

It's pretty common knowledge that Eddie Van Halen played guitar on MJ's Beat It, but it might not be as well known that Slash played on this song from Dangerous (and a few others from the album too, I think)... So, there you go...

Shepherds Bush Empire mini review before I forget something....

Can't sleep and it's now 3.30am and I think that was quite an epic gig. Here are my memorable highlights:

I got a Joe Chickenfoot Plec

Joe is now smokin Joe (someone else can correct me if wrong on that)

Chad is Chadster when in Britain

John McEnroe is obviously a fan of the band...

"Chadster" climbed on his drum kit, then fell off it and cut his arm and there was a fair bit of blood (but he kept playing naturally).... the guys were in hysterics when he fell off

Chadster later trashed his kit and threw a drum which hit Sam in the head!

Mikey gave me a beer at the end of the show

I am sure the others who went will have their memorable highlights to share so I won't spoil any of that

Got a fair few photos hopefully, and recorded a couple of songs but based on the basic spec of the camera I'm guessing the sound will be sh.... not very good

G'nite all - I think

Austin, yer first in line. lol!

Any fans of that little bitch Perez Hilton? Check out what he posted on Twitter, then quickly removed.

He also recently got punched in the face over some Black Eyed Peas thing, and then he cried like a little girl in his video blog because somebody FINALLY gave him what he deserved. How some people waste their lives is beyond me.

Hmmm...interesting that they didn't play My Kinda Girl. It was just released on MySpace/Facebook so I thought they'd be pushing it as their next single. Did they drop anything else from the album? Was the encore still Future In The Past, Bad Motor Scooter, and Highway Star?

Can someone post a picture of the drums Chad trashed? I hope it wasn't the awesome set he used on the US tour...I loved how those looked.

And if Sammy got hit by a drum...does that mean he's "quit" the band twice now? He did in San Francisco...and both that and this are the third shows of each tour. Hmmm... ;-)

michelle - I can't stand him...it bugs me that he's as popular as he is, and that we give that crap so much coverage here in the LA area. Argh...

Mc....I still haven't found yer Cork video....izit up or izinit?

Glitzman, we're good, thanks for asking...and my mum's lil birthday was nice...she's so dear. Thanks for the good wishes :)

It's so strange to know that Michael Jackson is gone. He was a part of my life for awhile, I enjoyed his vids, especially the more outrageous ones...thought the dancing was crazy! And he was young, with kids. Very sad for his whole family I'm sure. Same for Farrah Fawcett...rip both of them.

punkdude, congrats on the news of a son....hope he's very healthy and happy :)

Cappy!! Sorry to hear about the job, but maybe not terribly sorry?? Cuz it sounds like yer relieved...but what's next on the horizon for you?

Austin, changed my mind....we're going to the show in Tahoe...it's GA (YAY!!) and in a gorgeous location (BIGGER YAY!!) and isn't as far a drive as Berkeley. Chris is already excited!! ROOOOOOOAAAAAAD TRIP!!! Oh and Austin....yes, u can have the job at Peavey, go clean em up!!! They obviously need help and someone who is ACCURATE!

Guess we can call that show....ChickenHOE! LOL!

scuba and pip, sounds like you both had the BEST time...but of course, lol!! Hopin for pics and video from your show to start surfacing soon...we know where pip was standing, how about u scuba? Maybe yer amp came in handy to stand on fer a better view? lol!

I was listening to Jim Ladd's show on KLOS tonight and finally heard Oh Yeah on the radio. So that was cool. He also gave away a pair of tickets for the LA show, but I didn't get them. I've won a few things from his program in the past, though.

Anyway, I also found out through him that Sky Saxon of the 1960s California garage rock band The Seeds died yesterday as well. The band wasn't as popular as Michael Jackson, obviously, but it was influential in its own way.

cheese101 - Ah, cool...have an awesome time in Lake Tahoe.

Just FYI, that's a HUGE Sammy Hagar town...he has one of his Cabo Wabo restaurants in the hotel where the show is at. So be ready for big crowds...and I'd start looking for a place to stay now so you don't get shut out.

Glitzy - didn't forget you it's just been a mad, mad week. Hope you can get to the Chicago Foot show (ChickenChic?) it would be great to hear your review. Wow 150 miles sounds like alot, you must go through runners (sneakers) pretty fast! Are you hitting PB's in your races?

Life is flat out over here, with our end of financial year 30 June everything is frantic, typical of each year. But then July is pretty laid back. In fact it's almost a year since I saw Joe at the Forum in Melbourne July 17 I think it was. What a great night that was and it started my whole T2J road, where I have "met" great peeps like you and other forum members. This July I'm seeing Pink with my daughters, wish it was Joe or the Foot.

Never enough time for guitar practice and Lord knows I need it. Grappling with the engineering difficulties of one's pinky finger being so much shorter than the others and how to play scales when 4 fingers are all different lengths and the pinky is a real problem. Plus I have to keep cutting my nails :0). Still slowly working on Ten Words though.

Have a great weekend Glitzy.

burly - morning to you, how's that drum kit going? Don't do a "Chad" to it \m/ haha

Bizarrely enough Scuba's view was about 1 foot to the left of my view... and Satriella was 2 rows back and a little left. NJ Beast was there somewhere and I assume Anibur made it

Skippy - I got the feeling the beer was a consolation for not getting a drum stick. Chad was doing his best to fire them at me but they were all near misses. Chad really is a crazy mo fo, funny as f**k!

... and they should swap him in to do some Saturday Night Live sketches, I bet no one wouldn't realise it's NOT will

Very surreal about Michael. Somebody 'brought it to everyone's attention' after the gig but we kinda figured it was just someone who'd had a little too much drink

RIP MIchael

WELCOME- to the new guys and gals.

Pip and Scuba- Glad to hear about the show, sounds like they were having a good night.

Tracie- I considered the Tahoe trip myself but I think I will take my chances on the foot coming to a town close by. Have fun, there should be plenty to do there.

Glitzman- We had several days of 96-99 F. Looks like we may get a little break from the extreme heat. The humidity has been a killer here too. Great to hear things are going well. Looks like the economy may rebound if we can just keep the speculators out of the fuel market and keep gas prices down.

Skippy- I did some crazy things while drumming (like breathing fire with a bottle of pure grain alcohol and a drumstick torch) but never trashed a kit. The fire thing really pi**ed the club owner off. The cieling over the stage was low and the flames went crazy. I guess I felt I needed to up my bad boy image.

Off t' work. Weekend coming..enjoyif you don't have to work. A gentle rain would help out around here this afternoon..not too much though..just a little. So if anyone can send me about 1-1.5 inches of precip, it would be appreciated. Have already prayed for it.

Thanks for all the great reviews! I LOVE reading that stuff.

Also, somebody said "who's next?" in regards to the whole celebrity death thing, having seen the latest pics of Courtney Love I'd be putting my money squarely on her to go soon. Real soon. Now keep in mind, I don't want anyone to die, I just have a hunch after seeing how absolutely skinny she's become that she's not a healthy camper at all.

Anyways, RIP Farrah & Jacko. Both way too young.

smooches,
» Phył

Oh scuby what a GREAT report sounds like you had a fab time, and you didn't know you were next to Pip in the queue??? And you got a Chadstick - way hay that's great....must have been great to be so up close to Joe and watch him play, and to meet Satriella.

*sigh* oh well I spose the Foot will come Down Under eventually, but SO glad you had such a terrific time.

Calling all Aussies lurking around the forum you MUST post and get in touch so we can connect for the Foot tour in Oz!!

burly - OMG you were breathing fire as a drummer??????? Wow now THAT is impressive, reminds me of KISS!!!! hahahahah - hope you have some footage of that, you sure are one wild farmer :0)

On another topic, we watched Slumdog MIlionaire tonight, I must be the last person to see it, and it was really a great movie, wonderful story.

The babbling thing about Mickaël Jackson's death has started.

The guy has been very great.

He has been very lost & alone.

I get only one point : to me, the Funky Genius Man is Prince.
