One_Robot - just checked your pics, very nice! And you got to meet Joe how cool - you work in music?

Al - nice swinging buddy, you da man, but I'd like another ronimE too.

Lasha - welcome mate, if you can play Joe's songs on guitar at 13 you are already a legend in my book :0) I can only play a few bars of Ten Words and "Killing Me Softly" haha

Glitzy - you are so welcome my friend, keep it up and make sure you remember me when you go to the Olympics :>)

Pippy - wassup my lovely Pip-buddy? You pulling recently (*smug grin*)?, bet those Pantene sidies are a magnet. Can't believe Webber's reaction to the win he sounded like me at a Satch show.

Slans - you could be right about the comparison to Madonna but Madonna had the choreo-dance thing whereas Pink is circus-trained so to speak and it really is awesome to see the trapeze act etc, I did a circus training thing with work and loved the trapeze it was a buzz but FFS it was damn hard and I ached for days, plus I didn't have to sing! I do admire anybody with clear talent at something where you know few people in the world can do what they are doing e.g. Joe.

scuby - sounds like work is good, that's great, and you're a spring chicken at 35 haha.

Joe - hope you had a great birthday, maybe you got some more jocks and socks?

burly - MORNIN burly got your tickets yet???

Hi Joe,

Happy birthday! I tried to greet you yesterday, but I couldn't register in time. I'm just a big fan of yours here in Argentina. Yesterday I had this crazy, funny idea: maybe your next Tour can be called "Show Satriani". By the way, I loved Chickenfoot. Keep on rocking!!!

Cheers, Juan "Guitar Rookie" Massolo

Do The Stu: The dvd is the 2 shows we went to. Boston & NY. All the same vids are on you tube on the clubcabonortheast channel. The quality on you tube isn't great on all of them because we don't have high speed internet and they took weeks to upload.

axeshredder: Just noticed you posted on the RedRocker.com forum, I'm Cabo Don and my wife is RIRedRocker on that one. The mrs. has started watching your vids from NY, guess we were pretty close to each other. We were right in front of Joe for that one. You were in front of Sammy.

Do the Stu: Apart from Satch one of my very favourite guitarplayers is yet another Joe, namely a certain Mr. Joe Bonamassa. He is an incredible bluesguitarist who always treats his audience to mindblowing performances both on acoustic and electric guitars - and his solos just knock everybody out. And he´s quite a good singer as well. I actually think he´s an LA-local, so you might even know him, as I can see you´re from Long Beach??!!

Another concert that stays with me as very memorable was one with Larry Carlton about 3 three years ago here in Denmark. He demonstrated an unbelieveable mastery of both rock-, pop- and bluesguitarplaying and the way he interacted with the audience was so very relaxed - it felt like I was sitting in his livingroom, you know. His son played the bass by the way and he was awesome too.

I like Steve Lukather as well, allthough he tends to act a little too vulgar for my liking at times on stage, like grabbing his crutch aso.....I´m hugely into Jeff Beck as well, still haven´t seen him live though......I also have a weakness for Linking Park - I like the way they mix rock and rap a lot. And I like the overdistorted guitars and leadsingers voice.......Last year I also went to see the Yardbirds, a totally mindblowing accumulation of experience and tightplaying!!

....Joe Bonamassa is actually playing my town in a couple of weeks and I have the ticket ready. A (very!) small comfort for the cancelled Chickenfoot-gig last week....That still bugs me, like you wouldn´t believe it!!

That´s about it for now..... best from DK

Vinnie is a kind of chamaleon, he can play with Zappa, or Beck, or Sting, or with a whole bunch of different artists and styles, including rare specimen such as Laura Pausini, or Celine Dion, for instance.
Absolutely astonishing his versatility.

Citgo Gas Station Issues

I received this from a friend of mine . . .

IN ORLANDO LAST WEEK, AT A CITGO STATION, REGULAR GAS WAS PRICED AT$2.82 PER GALLON, AND NO CUSTOMERS.

HOWEVER, ACROSS THE STREET FUEL WAS SELLING FOR $2.85 PER GALLON AND ALL PUMPS THERE HAD CARS WAITINGTO FUEL UP.

What's going on? Word is getting around!!!!! Read on:

Have you noticed how the CITGO signs have disappeared in the past 7-8 months? A very clever move by Chavez. But guess what, "CITGO" IS CHANGING ITS NAME, too... This is serious, Americans,...make sure you read this very carefully.

NEWS FLASH: Chavez is NOW getting a Russian Weapons Factory built by Putin. The RUSSIANS are building an AK -47 Kalashnikov Assault Rifle factory in Venezuela , to give armament support to Communist Rebel groups throughout the Americas .

Chavez NOW has IRANIANS operating his oil refineries in Venezuela for him. It is likely only a matter of time, if not already, before Chavez has Iranian built LONG RANGE missiles, with a variety of warhead types aimed at: Guess Who?

CITGO is NOW in the process of Changing Its Name to "PETRO EXPRESS" due to the loss of gasoline sales in the USA ...due to the recent publicity of ownership by Chavez of Venezuela.

Every dollar you spend with ''CITGO" or "PETRO EXPRESS" gasoline will be used against you, your basic human rights, and your freedoms. He will start wars here in the Americas that will probably be the death of millions.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT because Chavez is starting to feel the loss of revenue from his holdings. HE OWNS "CITGO". This is a very important move that everyone should be aware of.

ANNOUNCED JUST RECENTLY: "CITGO", BEING AWARE THAT SALES ARE DOWN DUE TO U.S. CUSTOMERS NOT WANTING TO BUY FROM 'CITGO-CHAVEZ', HAVE STARTED TO CHANGE THE NAME OF SOME OF THEIR STORES TO: 'PETRO EXPRESS'. DO NOT BUY FROM "PETRO EXPRESS" EITHER!!! 'PETRO EXPRESS' IS ALSO 100% OWNED BY "CHAVEZ."

KEEP THIS MEMO GOING SO THAT EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT IS HAPPENING. BOTTOM LINE,-- BOYCOTT "CITGO" & "PETRO EXPRESS" please!!

PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS IS PASSED ON TO EVERYONE

Stage for French Madonna show collapses; 1 dead

AP - MARSEILLE, France – A stage being built for a Madonna concert in the French port city of Marseille collapsed Thursday, leaving one dead and six injured, the fire department said.

The stage at the Stade Velodrome stadium fell apart on top of several workers. Two of the injuries were serious, Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux said. All of the injured were taken to local hospitals.

The identities of the dead and injured were not immediately released.

The cause of the stage collapse was not clear. The area was cordoned off after the accident.

Madonna "Sticky & Sweet" tour was to arrive in Marseille on Sunday, but the concert was canceled after the stage collapse, according to Maurice Di Nocera, Marseille city councilor in charge of major events.

Hey joe i was wondering if you still give lessons in person because im not too big of a fan of online courses, and it would be more of a full experience with someone teaching me as i go along, but i know your on tour so it may be awhile, and as for me, im trying to get my stuff together to start playing at shows and gigs and whatever else there is as soon as possible, even though ive been playing for 4 years i never bothered to take lessons because i never found anyone competent enough for me to be patient when learning from to be able to finish the whole course, but i tell you what your exactly like me and my brother, your crazy like us, you have a sense of humor like us and your songs are about the kind of stuff we like too. So thats why i would feel comfortable enough to learn from you in person, cause it seems like i know you already, and i remember you saying about how it was hard for you to become famous even though you were playing for a long time, which is hilarious because i only heard about you a year ago or so. So get back to me if you can, -later dood

satrinicious - I've heard a lot of very good things about Joe Bonamassa, but I'm not too familiar with his music. I know some other people here like him quite a bit...I'm sure I'll get into him eventually.

I finally saw Jeff Beck for the first time a few months ago...it was very awesome. I can't believe it took me so long to see him. He is such an amazing guitarist. He brought Rod Stewart (!) out at my show to sing two songs, which was very cool.

I saw the Yardbirds a few years ago...I'm glad Chris Dreja and Jim McCarty are still out there playing. I REALLY love that band...it's nice to see another fan here.

Listening to: Joe Satriani - The Extremist (current song: Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness)

Guitarist Slash, formerly of Guns N’ Roses and current guitarist for Velvet Revolver, has been teasing fans about a solo record for some time now and it appears he’s finally about to finish it.

The guitarist posted an update on his MySpace to let fans know how things are shaping up in the studio. He writes, “Hey all, what’s happening? Everything’s good on this end. It has been a pretty productive summer so far. My record should be done next month & the recording has gone smoothly & sounds fucking great.”

“[Former Guns N’ Roses drummer] Steven Adler played on the 1st of the last 3 tracks yesterday, along with [Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist] Flea on bass. The song kicks ass & the drums & bass sound so recognizable & sound so fucking good,” he adds. “Steven is staying clean, which is great, Flea is just amazing, period. Steven, Flea & I all lived & met in the same neighborhood in West Hollywood back in the day. Yesterday, we had a great time reminiscing about when we all 1st started playing Rock & Roll & how school didn’t fit into the plan, we were like 15. Flea was the 1st one to join an ‘established’ band called “Anthem,” I remember being envious. I had a band called ‘Tidus Sloan’ but we didn’t have a singer. Sound familiar? Steven & I didn’t really have a band together until a few years later when we joined [Motley Crue bassist] Nikki Sixx’s old band “London” after Izzy [Stradlin, former Guns N’ Roses guitarist] left. Which, incidentally, was very short lived.”

He continues, “Izzy came down & played on a track a couple weeks ago, that sounds great too. It was good to see him, it’s been awhile. Our guitars together really do have a sound all their own. Besides having some friends of Eric Valentine’s come down from Northern California & play cello & violin on a track, I haven’t had any other guest musicians so far. Having Flea, Steven & Izzy play has been a real gas. There might be a couple more surprise musicians on this record I think.”

Slash recently performed his first solo show at the Quart Festival in Norway on June 30. His band included the likes of John 5 on guitar and Jason Bonham on drums and included guest appearances by Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie, and Ronnie Wood. Ozzy, Fergie, and Ronnie have all been confirmed to be making appearances on the album.
