Do The Stu

Great job on the weight loss - just keep it going.

I have several playlists on my iPod - some where the songs start off easy going, and when I end up getting tired, more hard pounding songs kick in.

From Musicradar

Steve Vai releases 2-disc live DVD

Where The Wild Things Are out in October

Steve Vai releases a 2-disc live DVD, Where The Wild Things Are, on 5 October 2009 on his own Favored Nations label.

Where The Wild Things Are features 2 hrs 40 mins of Vai in concert, filmed in HD at the State Theatre, Minneapolis during his recent Sound Theories tour.

The DVD also features bonus footage that includes exclusive interviews with band members and Steve's viral hit promotional video for the Jemini distortion pedal. The DVD contains both 5.1 and stereo mixes, plus a commentary track featuring Vai and some of his band members.

The musicians in this band are: Bryan Beller (bass), Jeremy Colson (drums), Dave Weiner (guitar and sitar) and Zack Wiesinger (lap steel).

"Nothing too indulgent!" "When I put a band and a show together I try to create an entertainment experience that I would like to have if I was sitting in the audience," explains Vai. "I like to witness great musicianship but nothing too cerebral or overindulgent, I like to be stimulated by a large dynamic range of emotional intensities and melodic richness, I enjoy when people love their instrument and it shows by their oneness with it, I like to feel as though I'm part of a family with the audience and the band, and I like to walk away feeling uplifted and not beat up by somebody's ego or the things they hate about themselves and the world.

"And of course I want a cool t-shirt."

Hey Do The Stu! Hope everything's cool over there.

What do you think of the final solo on "Best Of Times" (track 5)? Am I the only one to have been totally blown away? :|

Cheers, VP

Nooo need to send it here first. lol!

Austin, sound quality is always difficult to get using a camera. Hubs is waiting for our daughter to finish up the art files for the cover, then it all gets uploaded off to the company. Good job on the lbs too btw!

Slan, ya got a heart the size of Texas (which according to Texans is really big.) Yer a good man. Best to Tura & John.

Pip Satrini - I got the email...thanks for trying to help. I've had a busy day or two, but I'll reply...

Zinc Master - It's about time! I've been waiting for that DVD forever (well, only two years when it's all said and done).
ptrocker - I LOVE The Best Of Times...it's so nice to hear Dream Theater using major keys again (elsewhere on the album too).

The solo is good (very good), but it reminds me too much of other DT stuff (The Ministry Of Lost Souls, and a bit of Octavarium) so it doesn't grab me as much. I love the riffs earlier in the song, though...especially the bit beginning at 3:30.

Is this solo your favorite moment of the album? I'd say mine is the "Beautiful Agony" section of A Nightmare To Remember, and the ending of The Count Of Tuscany is probably second...

michelle - Your son's CD cover is going to have spiders everywhere, right? And maybe some crazy attic bats for good measure? :-)
cosmic_ape - Nice...where are you sitting?

I haven't bought an LA ticket yet (money is kinda tight) but I'll probably end up doing it as the show gets closer...

Do The Stu

I enjoy Vai's, Satch's and a few other bands concert DVD's.

I haven't seen a good one in some time - cannot wait for Vai's too.

How about another Satch while we are at it or Paris G3 ?

That's right.

I hope it is a DVD / CD release - like ususal.

I think Satch has been busy with all the FOOT stuff (which is important too).

I think before he mentioned something about a fall release.

Whoever posted the vid of Andy Timmons playin' Electric Gypsy.....Thank you very much!........He is brilliant and I can tell he loves his geetar......he makes playing it look so easy and I know it is far from easy......unless I practice for a few hours every day and don't miss a day, I'm a mess at it.....bumping into all the strings and not pressing down hard enough with my left fingers! Still, I'm having fun!

It was unbelievable last night! 98.5 KFOX played Joe's song, Cryin' and after that put on Chickenfoot's Oh, Yeah!! First time I've heard either one on the radio......hopefully, it won't be the last time!

July, yeah!!!
