HEY EVERYONE!

I just did the Firecracker 4-Mile Run earlier today. I got my fastest time: 24 minutes and 35 seconds. I came in 22nd out of 359 participants and was 4th in my Age Division. Now I have a 5K next week and that is going to be a big one. They are predicting about over 1,000 participants.

Skippygirl: Your motivations/thinking helped me with this run. Thank you very much! :)

Ibanezplyr: Cool pics of Night Ranger. I like their popular ballad, "Sister Christian."

Do The Stu, Cosmic_Ape, GoldenGirl2, and the T2Jers out in California: How many people do you think are out at the Staples Center for MJ's funeral? I'm hearing a lot of this on the news and online.

Michelle: Hope your son is doing better. I'm not doing anything on this holiday. I battling a minor headache right now.

To Everyone: First it was Farrah Fawcett; then Michael Jackson; then Billy Mays; and now I found out that NFL Pro Quarterback Steve McNair has passed away. Prayers to the McNair family and the NFL. I am shocked that he is now gone.

Well, I better stop now. I have work tomorrow morning (early), and I better rest up. Talk to you all later. Hope you all have a good day/night/4th of July. See ya!

Joe's National Anthem

I'm bored out of my effin mind and the rest of the community is partying it up :-/

Me no likey quarentine on my favorite day of the year.

*sigh*

I need to go find something to do besides watch Youtube vids of the national anthem. lol!

Sammy in Italy - voice sounds pretty rough. That's not Chad drumming either. It's Will Farrell. Either way, he sounds great.

Austin, I forget what I was gonna say dammit.

Geez man, fireworks are going off all over the neighborhood :-) Literally to the left, right, behind, and out front of our house - and the REAL fireworks only start at 10:00! I'm workin' on my swerve now. Should be good to go by ignition time. lmao!

Awww, even though my baby is sick, it's still my favorite day of the year :-)

WOOO! The fireworks were killer - as always! They've been over for almost an hour and my neighborhood is still so loud with people partying, music, and fireworks all over. The youngin's across the alley are playing drinking games. National Hangover Day will be a reality for them. lol! They're feckin screamin their lungs out every few minutes as whoever takes a shot and does some sort of task. lmao! People are funny - unless you have to work tomorrow. Then you pretty much hate everybody. lol! Thank you Jesus I have the day off!

With everything going on today, I forgot it's Hanibi-ko's birthday! She's 38 this year! Support her and her cause if you can.

Ha! Friggin' peeps are still hollerin' out there. Like 10 peeps all at one time. Bitches betta rekanize - the party don't go on OUTside all night. Take yerdrunk bitch asses in the house! lol!

Dave Matthews Band bassist Stefan Lessard posted the following on twitter a few hours ago:

It's 3:30 am and Montreux is rocking!

Oh yeah, and we hung with Chicken Foot tonight, Cabo Wabo!!

The bands are on the same bill again Sunday in Italy.

Blue_Moon - I went to In-N-Out for my July 4th lunch...4x2 (four patties, two cheese) with lettuce, onions, and ketchup, with french fries and ice water.

Delicious.

elpp - Any thanks for Candlebox should be directed to hybes here at T2J. He turned me on to them (well, reminded me that I knew a song or two of theirs 15 years ago).

Thanks for sharing about the concert...I've never seen 'em live, and would love to...

burly - I love those two Sammy albums because he really stretches out into a few new styles for some songs. The track The Message from Ten 13 is my favorite SH song, mostly because it's so different. And yes, Red Voodoo is mostly known for Mas Tequila, but there are so many great things on that album...the title track, Shag, and Returning Of The Wish, among others.

Chickenfoot's Learning To Fall reminds me a lot of Sammy's big end-of-album songs...I'm glad Joe is able to tap into that vibe, and I look forward to hearing similar things in the future...

michelle - What are the Luini magnets?

And if you forgot what you were going to tell me...was it Aerosmith-related? Fireworks? A sweet job offer? ;-)

ibanezguitars - The Bron Yr Aur you mentioned is actually the one I'm learning...fun song. I can listen to that on repeat for hours.

I have a copy of an 11-disc bootleg set of Led Zeppelin demos that includes a rough version of Bron Yr Aur with a young Carmen Plant crying in the background. It's really cool to hear the song in that setting.

Suzie2000 - I saw John Mayall a few years ago, in the performing arts center at my college...very good show.

I've never seen B.B. King...hopefully I get a chance soon. He's one of the last "big" names on my list of guitarists.

Glitz Man - I have no idea how many people will try to attend the Michael Jackson memorial. Personally, I hope there isn't a gathering of people without tickets. California and LA County have severe budget problems. I'd rather the LAPD not have to spend $1 million on security when the event will be televised live on a million different channels.

I don't mean to be insensitive, but I just don't understand the mob mentality...just like when people celebrate a local sports victory by destroying their city. Why?

Anyway...

...Austin...

Glitzy - that's great mate! Glad I could help, sounds like you ran like a firecracker hahaha - now use it for the next race and you will romp it in. It's such a simple psychological training trick but it works incredibly well.

Just had a lovely weekend away with wild winter weather but loads of fun. Stopped in at my brother's - he has a new B C Rich guitar with a customised paint job ( some sort of pterodactyl thing) and it plays really grungy - even I sounded good...

Do The Stu - wish we could get an update from Montreux, so glad one of the DMB guys tweeted.

Well, Tour de France is on - everybody cheer for Cadel Evans please!!! Iggy when you enter we'll cheer for you :0)

Happy 4th of July USA! the party still continues tonight with Fireworks in the area. Hope it's a safe weekend for everyone stateside & our Troops overseas.

My life has been like a Texas Flood since I popped in after 2 CF shows....caught up in a whirlwind, but it's all good! The CF shows were just incredible. Took me a few days to recover....then had to prepare for a job interview in Boston the following week. I had a really good feeling about it.... Sunday, the day b4 we looked a house (foreclosure) Nice 3 bedroom Ranch, hardwood floors etc only 10 yrs old on 1/4 acre corner lot. We didn't' know how much the bank wanted but it was perfect for us. 6/8 my interview went great!! Beautiful new Radiation Therapy dept yet to open....7/1 the 1st pt was to start. The people are just so nice, looking forward to being part of a great team. By Friday I had accepted the official offer (+ negotiated some great bonuses) and started the pre-approval mortgage process for the house. There were a few other offers but I got to counter-bid and on July17th my offer was accepted!! So much paperwork involved but that's okay. Looking forward to finally being with my husband, 6/28 was our 9 month wedding anniversary. we'll be together for our 10 month. 8/24 is my last day at work, been there for close to 11yrs. Been busy getting estimates from Movers & wrapping things up here.... it'll be wonderful to have my stuff back from Storage. Hallelujah! I start my new job 8/3 btw; I'd taken my new CF CD on the drive up to Boston, was sitting next to me in the sun......all of a sudden it MORPHED... the cover appeared from out of the black! I didn't know that it was heat sensitive. Very cool. he-hee!

Mikesb: Chad totally kicks ASS! He was so funny....must be Will Farrell's twin, even has the same funny bone! lmao I got to meet Sammy & his bud Emeril Lagasse at the NYC show... I went to the ladies room & got locked in. I had to leave out the "back way" and as I was Sammy & Emeril were just leaving ..... Emeril was hot about something, I said "Hey Emeril, BAM! (stupid I know..) he just looked at me, kept talkin to Sammy and their wives. I went up to Sammy & told him "Great show Sammy!" He gave me a big hug said "thanks darlin"& asked if I was with them and coming out....I stupidly said "no, I came up from Philly but I will see him tomorrow night at the show". I think my husband wouldn't of been very happy if I went out partying with them. I probably wouldn't of made it to the show in Philly either...Sammy was hurting, he didn't have his usual "Beer Bucket" it was H2O instead.I'd taken the train in & caught the next to last train home as it was. I got the setlist from Michael Anthony's tech Dougie after the Phiily show. Nice. Will you be coming down for any shows?

Skippygirl: I was front & Center for CF NTC & PA gigs! I got to sing into Sammy's mic ("Oh Yeah" in NY and "Highway Star" in Philly) You can see it on the clip u posted (can't realy see me tho).Totally awesome! you can see the back of my head & my friend John in the CF drumstick holder clip the Michelle posted, It's when she climbs up on stage. What an incredible night...actually lasted 2 days. lol

Gotta have Joe: Congrats on Graduation & the scholarship Kayla!! Awesome.

axeshredderjc: Hey Joe!! Can't wait to see ya at the next CF show....won't be long now! it was so awesome sharing CF with you, one incredible night!! Can't wait to do it again. you'll get to meet my husband @ the HOB show. His Bday is the night b4!

Michelle: Was so great to see you @ the CF show!! So glad I could help out with the sticks and umbrella. (one was an awesome catch! lol) looking forward to rockin out again with you in AC! HOB does not allow photography of any kind. Unfortunate, they can be real nasty bout it.Don't know if they've changed their policy...hope so. Sorry to hear about your son. Hope he's feeling better & you're having a good 4th too.

had 2 split it part2 got posted 1st ...oh well ;-)

YAY! I just took my son's temp and it was NORMAL for the first time since last Sunday! He hasn't taken any Advil today either, so it was a true reading. He says he's feeling better today, so hopefully the swine is leaving the building!

Read that the ginger kid from Harry Potter just had the swine flu too, but his was a mild case and it was over in a few days.

Lawd, lawd, lawd I hope the rest of us (or any of you) don't get sick.

Now on another sunny note - our fridge compressor sounds like it's on it's last leg this morning. *sigh* My husband is getting ready to operate on it. Seems they hooked up the ice maker water pipe right into the main water pipe with no shut off valve - just in case you want to unhook the fridge water pipe. He's looking for tools - a blow torch, stuff like that. It's gonna be a long day...especially with the extra added bonus of a slight hangover. LOL!

What's a Luini magnet? It's a picture of young Jon sitting at a desk, working on a big old desktop computer, and looking back over his shoulder. The caption above it reads "World's Best Webmaster" He also has a lovely chai mug with the same picture on it. lmao!!!

HEY JOE Check out this vid someone made of Learning To Fall

Michelle....---"I'm bored out of my effin mind and the rest of the community is partying it up :-/

Me no likey quarentine on my favorite day of the year."

I take no pleasure in hearing you are bored and your loved one(s) are ill. I take no pleasure in raging and acting out here or anywhere.

It grieves me to hear you are in such a way. ;-( I hope your situation improves.........especially since a common parent/adult responsibility is to care for, watch with and heal the sick. I have NO DOUBT you are up to this important task.

Sammy Hagar is so right when he sings that we need a new view of the world (Get it Up and The Future's in the Past)......healing the sick isn't boring to me.....it is challenging, not boring and it shouldn't be burdensome when lifted out of my own silly, sorry self-interests to a larger, brighter view. As a human I struggle (as I'm sure all of us do at times) with demons that would dash my hopes, dreams, life prospects. Yet, I know that a wider, larger, brighter outlook will prevail......in the end.......which is only a part of the journey along the unending road.

To those of you who are interested, my inspiration is music, poetry, The New English Bible (Scottish Bible?) and other translations, Bill Moyers' Journal and various writers in Salon.com and the New York Times.

Listening to Raising Sand, Robert Plant and Allison Kraus album on CD.

Ahhhh.......Just saw your most recent post......good to hear your son is feeling better. I hope your important kitchen appliance is repairable so ya don't have to part with hard-earned cash to buy a new one.

The middle income ppls and low income ppls are in the same income/cost bind.....food, shelter, transportation costs drain what little we earn and have saved. We need to hold President Obama's and congress people's feet to the fire........what the heck is government for anyway???

Hope ya all have a good Sunday.
