Michelle - yeah, fair comment about Dave. He's local to you right - have you met him?

Roo - cool, thanks - appreciate it.

I had some time to covert one of my Chickenfoot videos from Quicktime so that I could try and rescue the audio. So here's Learning To Fall from Shepherds Bush, London

If you listen really really really really really carefully you might hear Scubadaz & Satriella providing backing vocals ha ha ha

I wonder how many Chickenfoot guitars Joe has?

I was watching the two vids that Pip posted and noticed the guitar Joe was using last night at the Myth has a different Chickenfoot logo than the one he was using at SBE during "Learning to Fall".
I'm sure he has a handful of them at least; this was just the first I had noticed one with an alternate Chickenfoot on it.

Do The Stu: Sorry for the repeat post. I had never noticed that one on here before, but I had a feeling from the large number of times it had been viewed and the almost 1,000 comments that maybe it had. Next time I'll try to make it something a little more fresh!

Turbo236 - I noticed that too. The black with white logo (to me) only seems to have appeared recently. On a guitar I don't think it works as well as the one he's been using for most of the shows (as per SBE vid).

Personal preference tho

Cosmic Ape - cool! Maybe the question should have been who isn't coming

Blue Moon - Al. site looks great. Wouldn't it be better to have one of your songs embedded on the page rather than a cover? Just a suggestion

Chickenfoot did an amazing job at the hill in Halifax. it was an amazing concert. They know how to put on a good show and have fun with it. I hope to see chicken foot back in Halifax soon. also it would be the best day of my life if they had a G3 jam in Halifax. t I would do anything to see Satch, Vai and Malmsteen jammin together.anyways. i hope to see Joe in Halifax again keep up the good work Chickenfoot! :)

Skippygirl - You know, I thought that guy in the back behind Sheryl looked familiar but I couldn't place him. I think you might be right about Bryan Adams.

Pip55 - Given the choice, I would've liked to see 7-9 made into films instead of 1-3. I think a lot of things in the prequels worked better when you heard about them, instead of actually seeing them (small things like the birth or Darth Vader "suiting up" that ended up looking cheesey, and even big things like the actual Clone Wars).

Then of course something like R2-D2 being able to fly is lame. If he could fly in the prequels, why didn't he fly straight to Obi-Wan after the pod landed on Tatooine at the start of Episode IV? They could've destroyed the Death Star before it had approached Alderaan and the movies would've been over before they really got started.

Also, the prequels bug me because they make it seem like there are only a dozen or so people who play an important role in the entire galaxy. I think movies 7-9 could have introduced more characters than 1-3 did.

Reading your link, I think it's dumb for the emperor to stay alive. Surely there's enough of a fleet elsewhere with plenty of imperial leaders to where future stories could be told without him.

cosmic_ape - The midnight showing is Thursday night at Arclight (the theater across the street from Amoeba). I'll email you more details as soon as I'm done here.
turbo236 - No need to apologize at all! That (Cortez The Killer) is one of my favorite Joe videos ever...it's impossible to see it too many times. ;-)

And I wrote a reply about the guitars, but then saw that Phil said exactly what I would have...haha. But I can add that I think he has a few of the black-on-white guitars, because he gave one to Conan at the Tonight Show and still had another to play live.

Skippygirl - White T-shirt , Strat, funny haircut hiding his face...yeah that must be Bryan..good call!

Pip & Austin DTS - Gambale may have a version but True Temperment has really refined it to a science.

On YouTube.... heres a page that show some more current users and the Vai Gemini Vid that shows a brand new guitar with the frets......i was watching the previews of the DVD and didnt see them....i also wondered if stretching would be an issue but youll see in one video (lespaul) that theres no issue. My guess is this fretting system is excellent in the studio but not so necessary live...i surely would want to keep the frets in excellent shape for recordings and have reg's to beat up for shows...If this ever catches on and a big guitar manufacturer purchases the rights, it will become more common but will always be a premium feature. I would like to try one!

If you dig into the site some more youll see theres different levels and types for different type players and tunings...like the low tunings of todays hard rock / metal

I have reserved tix for the world premier of "It might get loud" on 42nd st, Manhattan on Friday Evening. I had no idea this was in the works and thank god because i would have been frustrated waiting....its been a great surprise...It seems to have landed on the first minutes of my 11 day vacation which also includes 2 Chickenfoot shows...Im Spoiled....and freekin psyched!

Here's a question, what does Jeff Campitelli do when he's not touring/recording with Joe? Does he tour/record with other people or just enjoy life until Joe needs him again? Are there any vids of him jamming with other bands? If so, where do I find them?

There's a meteor shower (the Perseids) tonight, if anyone's interested...it's always one of the best of the year. They're easy to see after 11 p.m. (midnight or 1 a.m. is even better)...get away from city lights and try not to look at the moon. The meteors originate from the constellation Perseus, which you'll find in the northeast, to the lower left of Cassiopeia (the big "W").

axeshredderjc - Thanks for those extra videos. This is a bit twisted, but I'd love to see some videos of bad guitarists trying to play one of those guitars...buzzing frets and all. ;-)

It Might Get Loud sounds like a great start to your vacation...good choice.

roffler - I had an aftershow pass to the last show of the PSATMOR tour (thanks to Blue_Moon) and talked to Jeff a bit about his plans during Chickenfoot. He said he had just about finished his home studio, so I imagine he's been doing a bit of session work.

I don't know how much money he makes from it, but he's also involved with Red House Live. You can see a page on him here...he's been with them for a few years, I think.

Jeff was in attendance at the Chickenfoot gig in SF back in May. Our group of T2Jers spotted him as he was leaving...I asked what he was up to and his response was a happy "Not being on tour!", so I think he's enjoying the time off.

Pip - Dave Weiner is a pretty cool guy. I bought quite a bit of his stuff that he sold back in the Spring and got to know him a little while swapping emails back and forth. I never bothered him other than our exchange of info about the gear. The other night I was logged on to Face Book and he saw I was logged on and popped up and chatted with me for a few minutes. He seems to be a great guy and I think does great with his efforts with ROTW. Never met him in person but would enjoy doing so.

I see that Stuart Hamm has a problem. He has approached 5000 friends and is being limited by Facebook. He says he must cut some and I can understand. I think it was good of him to add so many at request.

Skippy, oi, it IS only 11 days! August & December are the two fastest flowing months of the year for me with back to school & Christmas. It's like they're over in the blink of an eye. I'm really hoping for nice weather. It would be a shame to have all my peeps in AC and not be able to see the sights over the weekend. I'm also hoping for no massive hangovers... ;-)

Pip, yep, he's local. Funny you say that today. I was driving with my daughter right after work a few hrs ago, and we passed a couple walking & I said "That looks like Dave Weiner". I don't think it was because the dude was a little taller than Dave, but my daughter thinks I need to put my twitter down and back away slowly. lol! I've talked to him a few times. He did a clinic here with a meet & greet, and I saw him at a Joe show in Philly. He was hanging out in the lobby with his gf. I was like "Holy shit, that's Dave Weiner, so my hubs and our friends went over to say hi. He's very friendly. I've never run into him at any shops around here...yet. lol! He says he's moving back to LA, but his parents are still here, so he'll visit :-)

Scubz, yep, I'm on that cd as soon as it comes out. He's a twitter whore, so I know all about his websites. Last I was at dw.com it wasn't finished yet. Looks like he's made some progress on it.

Heeey! - I was just looking at DW's photo's and I thought "That picture looks familiar." It looks familiar because I sent it to Dave from the clinic he did in Reading a while back. lol! I forgot I sent it to him. lol! I didn't take the others he has posted from that day. Just this one.

Al, nice site. Now start working on that next cd and stop dilly dallying around.

Everyone - Thanks so much for the great response to The Dark Lord and His Humble Apprentice, I really appreciate the opinions. I have always enjoyed expressing myself through music and this is one of my first pieces that really did it, albeit that it expresses my star wars nerdiness.

Do the Stu - I'll be looking out for those, I'm also an amateur astronomer in my spare time (I got the telescope to search for the death star really) but I really enjoy a good meteor shower, I hope Leonids this year aren't clouded over.

Ranjack - OMG, I actually made one of those a few years ago, or attempted to, that is so weird that I had the same idea. Mine worked by having "teeth" that you could put in or remove to tune strings, it worked in principle but left a nasty buzz on the strings that I could hardly tolerate, I'm glad someone actually took that project up who has the ambition to make it real. Funny thing is that I made that two years ago and I had never heard of that device until today...great minds think alike as they say.

Argh...I went to a park at the top of a hill to watch the meteor shower, and there was a security guard there telling people to go away. If the guard is already there, why not just let people watch anyway? His presence alone would keep people from doing anything stupid/illegal/destructive.

Oh well...it's kind of cloudy tonight anyway, so I wouldn't have seen much of anything (or at least that's what I'm telling myself).

Blue_Moon - Haha...if you're looking for a "little Austin" you're at least 15 years late. I've always been very tall.
burly - I've met Dave Weiner a few times after gigs over the years. He's one of the friendliest, most talkative and "normal" musicians I've met...I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that he's also the youngest.
michelle - "I'm also hoping for no massive hangovers."

Ha! Good luck with that...!

ranjack - Very cool! I remember seeing something similar a few years ago (a capo that would only affect certain strings), but I don't think it let you play behind it easily/at all.

I think it'd be awesome for someone to throw a few of those on a double- or triple-neck guitar and go crazy with some two-handed tapping.

WhammyFreak - Whenever I finally move away from big cities, the first thing I'm going to do is buy a telescope. Where do you live, if you don't mind my asking?

I've always wanted to drive out to somewhere like Joshua Tree Park to watch a meteor shower, but it's tough to get everything to line up perfectly (a good meteor shower during a new moon, preferably on a weekend). The Leonids fall during a new moon this year...I hope I've found a new job by then, but if not maybe I can make it work.

Do the Stu- One of the nicest down to earth musicians I 've met, Steve Plunkett ( Autograph) I accompanied a friend who was running lights for another local band.. who was opening for Autograph. Hung out with Steve for a good while. It was kinda like he was really glad to just sit down and talk to someone. They were pretty worn from months of touring. This was sometime I believe in late 84 - early 85.

Humpday? OK.........

Pip - great vid from SBE - you had such a great spot it's a shame the photographer kept getting in the way.

Scuby - bad luck mate, the next one definitely.....

Axe - yes I think the white T shirt was Bryan Adams. Funny to see Eddie in the bowling shirt too.

Speaking of funny, I did LMAO with the Una Noche a Sevilla DVD (some lovely person just sent it to me) Joe is in the torn jeans, the black boots and jacket and Steve Vai comes out looking like he's in KISS.

roo - forgot to say congrats you lucky bugger, that's great you got tics to a show, now you can say hi from Skippygirl in person right????? Thanks mate!

Humpday - not to be confused with having a hump (is that an English expression only maybe?), or having THE hump....

Do The Stu - absolutely (EP 7-9). There used to be far more detail for those three episodes on that official site, but the emporer being able to transfer from body to body idea stood out as cack from the start. It is hinted at I suppose (in EP3). R2 being able to fly, yep forgot that: lame! It needed explaining away at the very least.

I really don't like the re-made ending of 6 with Hayden's Anakin as a Jedi ghost. Anyways...

That's plain dumb (the security) but I guess that happens a lot. Shame you missed it. I guess there'll be some stuff online later

Um, are you still sending me an email with a bass video?

Axeshredder - thanks for the vid of the tuning. Interesting stuff! Now we've got the spider capo too... bet they don't work together

Blue Moon - I have moments, now and again. I think Tseu... Tsuen.... the fireworks one ;-b should be on the front page, it's V V cool! Tseunamagemic (spelling) Fireworks? Can't check, no access to Youtoob

Burly - how you doin? Itching for another NASCAR run? Dave seems pretty cool, his ROTW and other work is great. Met him once breifly in 06, very easy to talk to. Stu has a cool podcast from Italy up on Youtoob at the mo

Michelle - you sure it wasn't him you drove by? Never doubt the initial thought, it might be right - it's how I met Joe first time (explain that later). Cool that you have met him, I remember you saying now. Nice pic too

Scubadaz - did you hear your backing vocals ha ha? That would have been a great experience (the tiger). Robbed you was! Shame about the job, anything else lined up? Can you give Tesco a nudge (outside of the agency)?

Skippygirl - pretty sure humpday meaning middle of the week - so you get over the hump and are headed to the weekend. Guess I could look it up.

If I manage to get any kind of usable audio out of Aveneida you'll then see a slightly bigger problem with photographers....

P.S Scuba & Skip - in one of the videos posted this week Sammy mentions the SBE gig again... I guess it stood out for him... maybe standout is the wrong saying for being hit in the head with a drum tho?

Cheese101 - you're a bit quiet? Glued to twitter maybe.... *waves*

... who can't format.... yep, me as usual....
