Skippygirl - So did you get to hear Chickenfoot on the radio? I tried to lislten but the stream wouldn't work for me...not sure why.
And there are two T2J CDs out there...Satchurated Feedback is the first one, Echo is the second one. SF came out in 2004, I think it was?
elpp - I doubt it, but do you get US soccer games (MLS) on TV where you live? I was watching a game yesterday at the gym (Seattle and Chicago, I think it was) and both teams were horrible. I enjoy the sport, I really do, but it's so hard to get into it when the people playing just aren't very good.
Does anyone elsewhere in the world get MLS games on TV? What do you think?
aftershock84 - Hi...welcome to the site! Tell us a bit about yourself... What are some of your favorite Satch songs? What other music are you into?
And yes, there's at least one Irish fan here who was at the Chickenfoot gig. His name here is Blue_Moon...he'll be around shortly, he's probably hungover. ;-)
alexandrecaetano - Good to see you here! Thanks for the update, and your email...
cheese101 - Yes, I remember that backpack guy too...argh. Some people just don't have a clue, do they?
And no, I haven't seen Knowing...I'll look for it next time I'm at a video store...
Pip Satrini - Did I ever reply to you about your Rubina cover? I know you asked me about it on Twitter a while ago... I thought I said something on T2J before then, but maybe you missed the post (or maybe I never said anything).
bluebuffalo - I saw Kiss on the original lineup's farewell tour in 2000, and it's one of the coolest shows I've been to. The amphitheater they played at in Sacramento had just opened, and I was able to score some great pit seats as a result.
The band has turned into even more of a joke since then, but that show was a fun one.
Listening to: U2 - No Line On The Horizon (current song: I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight)
This is my.........second time listening to this album. The first would've been right when I bought it, back in March. I think it sounds a little better now than it did then, but I still think it's U2's weakest... What does everyone else think about it?

Do the stu: what about "Return from Shalla-Bal"? (I think), that was a tribute cd we put out as a t2j crew from the mid nineties or something? I'll grab it when I get home and see. I think I did midnight and a live version of motorcycle rider on that as a bonus track. I think we gave Joe a copy as well. And there was also "crushing days" - not sure who did that one though.

Greetings from Oakdale, Minnesota! Technically part of St Paul, very close to the MN - Wisconsin border. Damn it's so green over here...and it's 20 degrees cooler than Juarez, so can't complain there either.
Skippygirl: Thanks! So what exactly is the difference between rugby and Australian rules football?? Or is it the same thing?
Austin: We do get MLS in Juarez / El Paso, Univision has an over-the-air station in El Paso and they broadcast at least one game weekly. I think the majority of the US soccer clubs emphasize defense over offense, which makes for a less exciting experience for the spectator. The Juarez team (Juarez Indios) has a coach who lives and dies by that same philosophy (sp?) and it's sometimes painful to watch their games. Yesterday was one of those days (0-0 tie), between the heat, the hangover and the game I was dozing off like crazy...

Do The Stu - great, can I get hold of copies of these CD's anywhere do you think?
I did sucessfully login and stream the Rock Nation Radio site but iti wasn't the show the Australian guy said he was doing it was another DJ who I ended up chatting with in the chat room he was from Oklahoma and real nice, loved Joe too, has seen him over 15 times etc, I'm sure he'll now add Chickenfoot to his playlist :0).
elpp - oh dear, rugby is VERY different to AFL. Rugby is like gridiron where they form a line and run with the ball and throw it to each other until someone can get it over their end line, whilst they dodge being crunched by the opposition and thrown to the ground. Every now and again a nominated player kicks it.
It's played more widely around the world hence there is a Rugby World Cup.
AFL is the running, kicking and passing game played on a giant oval with 18 per side, anybody can kick, catch and pass and it goes for four 25 minute quarters plus stoppage time. Really only played in Australia and the Irish play the Gaelic version.

roo - I didn't join T2J until 2000, so I wouldn't know about any CDs from before that time. When the Satchurated Feedback project started, though, I don't remember anyone saying anything about previous CDs...but there obviously were some if you have them. It'd be great if you could give us some more info.
elpp - It's not so much the 0-0 tie that bugs me, it's the lower quality of play. It just isn't fun to watch someone drive toward the goal, and then run into a defender and give up the ball because his teammates can't get into position fast enough.
I enjoy watching the sport, at a minimum because it's so popular in the rest of the world. But MLS has been around for 15 years or so now (it started right after the US hosted the World Cup) and the level of play hasn't gotten any better. Argh...
Skippygirl - I don't know much about the two T2J CDs...I wrote the liner notes for the first one, but that's pretty much where my involvement ended. The project's website was http://www.talk2joe.com/, but I don't know if the links there still work. I think death cube k helped run the project back then...maybe he can add to this.

JSPhil: No worries...and I'm not going to even hazard a guess as to what is causing the perspiration :) Fantastic last 1km yesterday wasn't it? Cav really did show just how fast he is...he absolutely blew the rest of them away! Off to have a look at a Trek 1.7 later...which is looking like just about the only one I can get my mitts on. It's that awkward time of the year when everyone's sold out of 2009 stock but hasn't quite got hold of 2010 stock yet :-/ Still, barring problems like it being the wrong size I am looking to buy the Trek. :)
DoTheStu: I like 'No Line...' quite a lot, there are some realy gems on it, but I somehow keep missing it as well...so to rectify that I am now going to have a listen :)
Skippy: AFL sounds like a mix of football, rugby and gang warfare to be honest...think we'll stick to cricket....(now there's an opener for you ;)

I'm curious about how well your guitars hold up to your playing. I've heard about guitarists playing instruments to death... Do you have a stock pile of spent instruments that you salvage parts from or do you have maintenance work "tune-ups" on your guitars often? Is your playing style even that demanding on your instruments - I've read of EVH completely wrecking the frets on his older guitars in one touring!
I think Becjr has a very interesting point here... Can anyone else add any input into this one? Joe or Mike perhaps?
NJBeast - I remember the G3 with Robert Fripp and I have to say that for me it was a refreshing change and I actually enjoyed what he did. Not to say that it was everybody's cup of tea...
SkippyGirl - I was on both of the T2J CD's and I do post from time... I mainly just check in daily and see what the topic on conversations are...
Cheers,
Aarren
