SkippyGirl--Steve Vai's 10 Favorite Instrumentals!!! I agree 100% with his Number 1 and Number 5 picks! When I first heard "Europa" by Carlos Santana, I thought I had entered heaven by sonic waves! And Joe Satriani's ITLIS title track is transforming and takes me to a place I want to return to again and again. I have the Jeff Beck CD "Blow by Blow" and love listening to it.....however, I have to be careful to bring myself back to earth once it's done.

Music is so loving and lovely and connecting. It bonds us to each other like nothing else!

Blue Moon- YES.. that name was delivered with a smirk on that (main cold guys face) I can not utter the name of that person...... ARGH.. .. Do The Stu - I do see where the Musterion is reminiscent of NOTE, the title track . Do you think same of Hordes Of Locusts?

Aww, Blue_Moon--If I kiss yer finger, do ya think it'll feel better? I'll let you kiss my troubled finger with the stupid cyst on it and maybe it will be the kiss of healing......It could very well be. ;-) Musicians can perform miracles!

Have a good night.

I found an old Joe interview a few weeks ago when the internet was out at my apartment...I forgot about it until now. It's from the promo tour Joe did when ITLIS? was released. Joe talked a lot and played a few songs over the air. I edited two snippets together into one MP3 file...he's talking about Coldplay in the first, and he explains the If I Could Fly chords in the second. Looking back, I think it's funny that both of these things came up in the same interview.

This was from 4/16/04, which is a good year and a half after Coldplay's Chris Martin made a negative comment about Joe in a VH1 interview (the second question from the end). So even though Chris Martin had trashed him, Joe still had plenty of nice things to say about the band.

Have a listen:

http://alewis525.googlepages.com/JSonC.mp3

(EDIT - And Joe, I'm sure you and your lawyers have everything well under control, but I can provide a copy of this whole radio interview if it's useful to you in any way [historical record of you and Coldplay mentioning each other in the press, etc.]...just let me know.)

burly - Thanks for sharing your pictures! :-)
Peace Lily - "there is such a thing as respecting the artists that have paid their dues and put their heart and soul into their music and appreciate their fans the way that JOE does"

Just thought that could use repeating. And I do remember the Coldplay Moe Batriani comment...I think it was in a video clilp from an AOL concert...?

And back to Joe, I haven't heard much of Hordes Of Locusts in Musterion...but to be fair, HOL isn't one of my favorite songs so it's probably not something I'd pick up on.

turbo236 - I got your email, and will reply tomorrow (too tired now) with my cell phone number and other info. Quickly, though, I plan on being in Lake Tahoe by 3 p.m. and probably not eating dinner until at least 4 or 5 p.m.

scubadaz: yeah, i'm sure it's incredible. Its just I need to see my favorite artist for the past few years, who's never come close enough to North Dakota for that to work at my age. Now that i'm getting old enough for that to be a possibility he's found something he likes better but it's not my favorite musician's music if i see that. Sure, he wrote pretty much everything Chickenfoot did, but it's different. You understand right?

Darl, I was trying to watch a RHCP dvd last night, and I had a giggle fit. I said to my hubs "I gotta do it! I gotta send that pic to Joe!" He laughed and told me to go for it. lmao!! With all the craziness of CF, I bet Joe will have a good laugh when he see's it. Call me crazy, but I wanna print it out and hang it up somewhere. It's just so friggin funny! If I didn't have so many kids running through here, it would be right next to a picture of me dear ol' mum. lmao! She'd love it and prolly double up laughing...ohhhh, remind me of that idea for my Christmas eve party!!! lmao!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LMAO!!! Too funny!! You're never gonna look at Chad the same way again! If you do send it to Joe, let me know...I can just see Joe now...laughing and shaking his head! Hey it might make a good X-mas card LOL...and if you do, please put me on your card list!! :D Nothing like a couple jingle balls to brighten up the festivities! HA!
HELLO EVERYBODY!!!
HEY, NOW I'M UP TO 100 POSTS!!!
I've been reading the posts by all of you. Glad to hear those who saw Joe/Chickenfoot, or those who are going to see them, had fun.
Good news. I got another job, which is out at the mall. I work at a Guitar Store as a Sales Rep. Pretty cool, huh? I'll tell you more about it later. My other job is going good, not much business, so less hours for me. Therefore more hours at the guitar store. YEAH!!!
Running is going well. I have a 10 Mile Run down in Bluffton this Saturday. Wish me luck on that one everybody.
Slashroom: Hey Roy, sorry about my long posts. Didn't mean to offend you.
Blue_Moon: Hey Alan, great videos & guitar playing. Do you have a demo or album?
Do The Stu: Austin, great pics on your trip(s). By the way, how many concerts/places have you gone to this year?
Skippygirl: Don't feel bad. I haven't had a chance to see Joe &Chickenfoot yet. I may not be able to with my running and jobs. Wish me luck this Saturday.
Axeshredderjc & Alexandrecaetano: Congrats to you both!!!
Zinc Master: Like your jokes. How's the running?
Distorted Soul: Welcome to the site Rick/Indy Native.
Michelle: That makes two of us. I don't do myspace, facebook either. I never even done Twitter.
GoldenGirl2: Hey Millie, how are you & your husband Steve doing? Hopefully you're both doing well with all those fires over there.
EVERYONE ELSE: Hope you all are doing well. Since you all were talking about your favorite Satch albums/songs, my favorite is all of them. I enjoy all the songs & albums. Can't choose one.
JOE: Hopefully you'll have some blue for us soon and tell us about your gigs so far with Sammy, Michael, and Chad. I run a lot so maybe I can get Chad to chill down a little with some long distance running. Do you think a good 10 or 15-Mile Run will do the trick? ;-)
Well, I better stop now. I have some speed training later this evening with my running group. Time to get carb-loaded for the next couple of days. Talk with you all later.
Do The Stu: Thanks for those links; can you post the link to the entire interview or is what you have all that's available. I'd love to hear Joe play If I Could Fly.
Also, 4 or 5 may be a little early for me to wait until tomorrow to leave, so I may have to change plans and go ahead and leave this evening and just crash out in the car when I get there. The guy at the hotel said I wouldn't be able to check in until 2 p.m. I'll figure something out.
Blue_Moon, HOME is lovely.....nice cover.
Glitz Man--Stanford still wants Steve for Cyberknife exact radiation beam treatments. They say it may take 2 or 3 to neutralize the lesion in his brain.....the focal point of the seizures. He still has to have a CT scan layered on an MRI and along with all the other tests, they put together a 3 dimensional geometric mathematical calculus that tells them where to aim the radiation beam to obliterate the dysplasia as they call it. Damn! I just want it to be over so we can concentrate on other areas of life we have been missing out on. He needs to see Dr. C and Dr. B and Dr. Y. He just saw his kidney doctor on Monday!
I need a triple dose of Steve Morse, Joe Satriani and Andy Timmons!
