hey joe my name is mike mason. me and my deceased fiance were at your show on october 28th 2008 in atlanta. we met you at the meet and greet that she bought tickets for me and my 2 friends we were the ones that said rock on and I was wearing chicago bears attire and she was 2. I was wondering if you could make a great song about SARAH ABIGAIL GORMAN something with the way you fingerpick and awesome like your music. you could call it gorman or abigail or just sarah. i introduced her and her whole family to your awesome music. she passed away march 28th in a fire in her moms house in acworth georgia where she was packing all her stuff cause we were to move in 3 days after her death. she was the shit you even gave her your pick at the end of your show.i have introduced you to at least 200 people about your awesome music. after she passed i lost my job 1 month later nobody said life was easy but what a test i reaalize you r very busy but it would be so cool if i could let them listen to a song made just for her from a great man like u. and my family thinks your the shit also and that means your aweomse i have been listening to you for at least 20 some plus years. your music is the best. i would like to give you my direct email address but i dont no if i should do this here. and you dont even have to name tihs song for her you could just sing something about her she loved your music i wish she could here more the best thing about your show in oct 08 was she was there seeing me at my happiest moment watching you we had the whole area in the front of the stage and i was the security guard teling people u cant stand here cause i was secuiuty for u you saw how much room we had to every body else. sarah made the most best memoriblia picture showcase of our autographs and shirts and hat and picks of us. your the best and i would love to here from you once again ROCK ON YOUR THE SHIT

Monterrey Trace - If there were more mom's like you the world would be a happier place. A bit like my wife too. Special kids often need special mom's, and occasionally they get them. Hugs.

scubs, no probs here, I agree it's a hefty price :) I guess I figgered at the time you only go around once and definitely can't take it with you, even if u hafta scrounge around to find "it", lol!!

Pipster, awwwwww, that woulda been great if u coulda made ChickenAC or ChickenHOE...guess we'll hafta try again some day mebbe...but if Joe has his way with the rest of the guys, they'll be doing lots more tours of the UK, so u might not even need to leave home :)

As to the rental of a Chrispie, why yes, I believe he CAN do menial tasks, but he's also VERY talented at taking things apart!! =| So I'd suggest u hide yer guitar gear, cuz he'll either be playing with it, or "improving it", lol! As to the price...that's very negotiable. It sorta depends on my irritation factor...if I'm highly irritated, I'll pay U to take him. If all is tra-la, tra-la....then he goes fer a hefty price...so choose yer time wisely my son, LOL!!!

Cappy, thanks, that's sweet...but I dunno about the special mom part fer me....it's just always been me and chrisper-dawg, so u do what u gotta do. I have a friend at work who's son is also autistic, though it's a different form than what Chris has...and we often remark to each other how very "special" our guys are....said with crossed eyeballs and confused looks on our faces, LOL!!!

LOVE YA JOE!!! HOPE YOU'VE ALREADY STARTED THE PARTAY!!!

Just think, if Joe was on the other side of the world and then traveled around steadily, he could have several days of birthday, instead of just one...he should try that sometime!

Some bad Aerosmith news to report...

Bassist Tom Hamilton's throat cancer has returned, so he'll be sitting out the rest of the tour.

The band has cancelled its last few shows because Steven Tyler hurt his leg, and rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford had already been out for a few weeks (recovering from another injury). But those two guys are OK now, I've heard, and Wednesday's show will go on.

David Hull (Joe Perry Project bassist and longtime friend of the band) will be filling in for Tom, just as he did on the 2006 tour when Tom's cancer was first diagnosed. It was thought at the time that he made a full recovery, but it's come back.

I don't know of many people who cite him as an influence, but Tom is the reason I wanted to pick up the bass guitar. His playing isn't flashy, but there's something about how he approaches his parts more like a rhythm guitar than a bass that I really like.

Happy Birthday Joe! A bit of blue would be great if you can in a few days. Enjoy the rest before the (2nd) US tour.

Pipster - how about ChickenMelb????? i would not recommend ChickenCork :0)

On another topic - Pink was an awesome show last night. Special treat was Evermore as support - I didn't realise how good they were they all change around who's playing drums and keyboards and take turns, very cool.

Pink opened with Highway to Hell which rocked and did a solid 2 hours of her stuff, but specially good Bohemian Rhapsody and a Led Zeppelin song I can't for the life of me think of the name of, and all the trapeze and circus tricks, amazing to do a trapeze routine whilst singing a whole song without any problem with the quality of her voice. She also had 2 female guitar players and the lead guitar Justin was good - did a lot of shredding solos including the Led Zep song.

First concert for my girls they were agog and screaming through most of it - best bit was I was showing them the Bohemian Rhapsody clip from Wayn'e World on YT a week ago so last night we were all head-banging duirng Pink's rendition.

From the September 09 Guitar World, Randy Harward asked Joe a few questions...this one stood out to me...

Randy: "Ever had a nightmare gig?"

Joe: "I think the most demoralizing one was when I was in a band called the Squares with my current drummer, Jeff Campitelli, and we were opening for Eddie Money at an amusement park. The audience thought they were gonna go straight from eating corndogs and going on rides all day to seeing the star. The DJ got up and said, "You ready to see Eddie Money? This is gonna be great, but first we have a local band..." The entire audience booed. We ran out there and just got pelted with coins. I still have the guitar, which I wound up using on all my records, and it still has the marks from all the coins."

Aww Joe....did ya at least stop and pick up the monies? lol!! But that musta hurt, in more ways than one, eh? Ahh the memories of a rock star :)

Hopefully they were all dimes, the littlest and lightest of US coins :) Which guitar was it?

Mike : yeap, i'm happy.

Cube : Beck on stage is an amazing experience, indeed. I was very closed of the stage, so yes, i saw the master, & could appreciate how much he's shy, humble, simple, & generous. It has been my greatest guitar lesson. The body is 64 years, but the soul is 20 years, & the musical vision absolutly modern. The guitar genius at his top.

Ibanezguitar : Sete has gotten the Blow by blow, Wired, Guitar shop & Who else Beck, + A day in a life, Stratus & Peter Gumm theme. The man was in white clothes. He has a lot improvised. Several times, the team looked surprised of the way that the master has given to the songs. He looked very happy to be here, & has said that he has found the Sete's audience fantastic. Vinnie, Tal & the keyboard player have been very good. They played around two hours. During a Tal solo, Jeff has played on the bass with Tal. Very cool. I also noticed that this night, Jeff has played very few wah, & lot of thumb & tremolo arm.

Before the concert started, I could talk a few with the guitar engineer of Jeff, & gave to him an invitation for Prog Sud & a broken tremolo arm. He told me that he would give this to Jeff.

Slansh : i got indeed a blue jean jacket with a VH logo on my back. VH is past. Beck past, present & futur.

Next concert : Lucky Peterson.

Happy Birthday Joe

Austin- In a world where we have lost some great ones to an untimely death but still enjoy many of our aging musicians, it breaks my heart to see Aerosmith weakened by afflictions even at their age and given the lifestyle they led.

Sweet Emotion is one of the most original and most recognizable bass lines in rock and roll. Tom Hamilton is one of the greats and I wish him a full recovery.

They were a force right up until these hindrances began plaguing them and still they are giving it their all. Like many aging acts, I know it's a matter of time until we lose some of them or health problems will sideline them, but I will never be ready to give them up. I am grateful for all Aerosmith and other wonderful artists contributions through the years.

I just realized I wished Joe a happy birthday and in the same post talked about aging rockers.

Joe you would pass for 10 years younger and the 50s are the new 30s. I suspect it has to do with your lifestyle choice partly. It would be cool for music fans to be celebrating Joe's 100th one of these days. Wishing you many more years. Just stay out of Chad's way as much as possible and watch out for flying drums. Oh and maybe limit your Cabo Wabo to one shot a day while hangin' with Sam.
