Happy birthday, Joe! Thanks for the music... :-)
Pip Satrini - I don't recall Jeff ever injuring his leg, but I did disappear from T2J for a bit during 2006/2007 so I may have missed it. I don't remember hearing about any shows being cancelled, though...?
cheese101 - Wow...I am surprised how low that lesson went for. I think it's great that you were able to get it for Chris, though. As has been said, it's nice that a T2Jer won.
I looked back at my old Cliff Show posts and saw that the JS guitar with a lesson from Joe and a JEM guitar with a lesson from Steve went for $5,000 each. So the lesson for Chris was actually cheaper than both of these...
"if Joe was on the other side of the world and then traveled around steadily, he could have several days of birthday"
If I end up with a lot of disposable income later in life, I'd love to move to Australia or Japan to live out my last few days. Then, once I die, my body would immediately be flown across the International Date Line for burial in the US. The logistics would be tough, but how cool would it be to have a tombstone that says I was buried the day before I died?
punkdude75 - I don't see any reason why Joe would use anyone other than Jeff on his solo stuff, since they've worked together for so long. Maybe I could see an exception for a song or two in the studio if Chickenfoot ended, but that's it.
They're both excellent drummers, but they have completely opposite approaches to playing. Chad can GROOVE, but he doesn't come close to some of the stuff Jeff does on the toms and cymbals. And I think Joe's solo work calls for exactly what Jeff is best at.
It's an interesting question, though...what does everyone else think?
shorty11 - I'm sorry for your loss...you'll always have the memories of the concert to look back on, though. It's good the two of you were able to see Joe in concert...
Skippygirl - That Pink show sounds pretty cool...she's on my (very) short list of "pop" performers I wouldn't mind seeing live. It's nice to see a lot of rock in her set.
And that Wayne's World moment is one of the best ever. :-)
...Austin...

do the Stu - I think pip was talking about when Jeff Campitelli hurt his ankle playing football (or was it baseball) with his daughter...i remember talking to him about it after the gig, he was laughing at himself about it, he didn't miss any shows though, but he was limping.
or
I could be completely wrong...pip could be talking bout summit else?
Scubadaz - Well done on getting in at Tesco...hope it lasts!
JOE....LOVIN HUGS TO YOU ON YOUR SEPECIAL DAY!
Hugs Satriella xx

Check this out. I wish that everyone that leaked a record would be caught and penalized!
Blogger sentenced for leaking Guns N' Roses album
July 14, 2009, 3:51 PM EST
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A federal judge has sentenced a man who pleaded guilty to leaking part of the Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" to a year's probation.
Blogger Kevin Cogill will also serve two months of home confinement, subject his computers to government scrutiny, and record a public service announcement for the Industry Association of America.
Cogill pleaded guilty earlier this year to one misdemeanor count of copyright infringement for posting nine tracks from the long-awaited Guns 'N Roses album last year.
He said in court Tuesday that he posted the tracks to promote the band, not hurt it.
A federal prosecutor had asked a judge to sentence Cogill to some prison time, but U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Abrams said he felt Cogill had learned his lesson.

Happy birthday Joe!
To be honest, I haven't been listening to your music much lately. Kotaro Oshio (http://www.kotaro-oshio.com/index.html) held me captive in his brilliance of guitar playing, but today I'll celebrate your birthday by listening to your songs.
I hope Chickenfoot is still going strong. Both your own albums and Chickenfoot's album are great, so adding a couple more Chickenfoot albums to my collection would be a great thing!
Greetings from the Netherlands,
Didier Strijdonk

Monterrey Trace - All children are special but some need that bit extra effort and understanding that only special moms give without thinking it's any biggie. My wife is a special mom but I don't think i'm a special dad, i'm just a mean cynical old git! LOL

Happy birthday Joe. Happy birthday to you and happy birthday to me too. I am an avid fan since you launched Surfing with the Alien album - yes, I am that old and I as of today I am not getting any younger. We were watching your concert in Istanbul in 2007 and I could not belive my eyes when they rolled in this huge birthday cake. I couldn't believe we have the same birthday. I tried to come backstage after the concert to get a signature and maybe a slice of cake thinking that I deserved it as a birthday treat but unfortunately I wasn't allowed. Anyways tickets to your concert was my birthday present to myself and it was a great concert. It was wonderful to see how much you cared about sharing the music you make. Thanks for that special day and thanks for this unearthly music you are making. Have a wonderful year.
Didem
