GG2: Thanks for looking around Dublin. Not far from the music store across from the PD. I'm usually down there some time that day. Were doing lawn projects right now. I'm working on my sweeps and shuffles on guitar. Have fun with the Flickr.com/photos/Ibanezplayer. Joes' on page two.

My father in laws first name is Austin and the Six million dollar man's name was Steve Austin.

So now I have to refer to Do the Stu as Do the Stu, but that's okay. Welcome Austin from PA.

Do the Stu-It would be very cool to join you guys in Tahoe, but I am afraid I wil be into harvest by then. I think I can still swing the ATL trip as far as my schedule goes. May have to take a rain check on a T2J get together. If I go to ATL it will be a quick flight in the day of the show and leave out the next morning.

On the Sammy Hagar post VH subject, What is your take on the "Livin' it Up album? bought it a couple of weeks ago. I really like some of it but it is a little jarring listening to Sammy do country music. I would have to say I like the album although I am not really big into country.

Good night all .G'day Aussies.

Austin: It was Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at around noon (I have the ticket, don't think I have such good memory!!!). He was doing the warmup shows at the HOB before recording LISF.

My sister took this picture inside a toy store, we frantically went back to LA to have it developed, and Joe signed it when he arrived at the HOB later that night!! (You should see bits of the signature in blue on the bottom left corner).

The pick on the top left was given to me by Mike Manning after the show was over, in exchange for a Silver Surfer keyring I wanted him to give to Joe. To this day I have no clue if Joe actually got it. Unfortunately the photo is now stuck to the frame glass, so there is no way to take it out, if the glass ever breaks I'm screwed!!

Skippygirl: Cool that u liked it, I have to warn you, the original Count of Tuscany song is actually 19 minutes long, and the first 13 are not as peaceful!! It is a great song overall, just don't expect it to be a soft one when you hear it in its entirety. And I'll get started on writing the new song, I'll get some tips from Sammy as he seems to write about that subject all the time!! lol

Austin from PA: Welcome! You are the first official user of Roo's app, he's probably a very happy camper now!

Axeshredder: Cool vid, Jackson is the coolest dude out there. Thx on the video comment, had I stopped I probably would've crashed!! lol

Pip55: Cool that u liked the vid.

Austin is also a city in Arkansas, Colorado, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, and Oregon, says Wikipedia. I didn't know about any of those until just now...

burly - It's good to hear that you're still digging into Sammy Hagar's discography. Livin' It Up! is my least-favorite of his post-VH albums, but that's not a negative (the album isn't bad, it's just less good).

Despite the writing/collaboration on a few songs and touring with Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney, I don't think it's fair to call this a country album. It's laid back and has more focus on the vocals, but I still hear a lot of Sammy in it. To use VH as a comparison, this one is more Finish What Ya Started and Can't Stop Lovin' You instead of Poundcake and Top Of The World.

It's nice to have a studio version of his Rainy Day Women cover (which he played during his solo spot when I saw VH in 2004), and another R&B cover with Let Me Take You There. Those two songs, along with the single Sam I Am, are probably my favorites from the album.

I like Halfway To Memphis, but I think his original version (from 2002's Not 4 Sale, listen here) is better. If you don't have N4S, by the way, I think it should be your next purchase.

Anyway, back to Livin' It Up!, I unfortunately think the album sent Sammy's solo career down the Jimmy Buffet path (shows are parties and setlists are stale) and I don't think he'll be able to recover. It's a shame, as he has A LOT of great solo songs that never get played...I'm sure you're starting to see that.

elpp - Very cool photo, and story...!

I wonder what Joe thinks to Sammy swearing on stage, seems to me he F's quite a bit. I've never heard (or heard of) Joe using such language.

Cappy Steve- Yeah if there is one negative about Sammy that I could change it would be the excessive swearing. Once is one thing but....

It is hard to bring a young kid to a show where you know every other word is F@*%.

I was in a band where we had the weird scenario of the bass player who was not the lead vocalist that served as the "MC" if you will. The guy barely said F@*% off stage but was his favorite word between songs. I'm far from a saint but wanted to crawl under my kit a few times, and we played the kind of places that it was common place to hear that in the crowd.

So I could see where he could be uncomfortable with it. But hey what can you say? He's Sammy..I wouldn't ask him to stop if I were in a band with him.

Do the Stu- I like that version of Halfway to Memphis better. Yes it's probably not fair to call LIU a country album. I think I only am lacking N4S in my quest to own all post VH Sammy. And that's pretty good since I only owned one of 'em.

Cappy, Joe has a potty mouth sometimes too, and on the occasion he lets it rip, it's funny as hell. You have to remember...after a tour with Leslie West, Sammy is like a Girl Scout. lmao!!

Oh my god....

Went to the court expecting a 10 minute thing and be told to come back in 8 weeks with relevant info...

instead it took 4 hours but its all settled and done...

house to be sold this time next year, then after the bills have been paid...55% to me and 45% to him.

Just to know what is going on and that its all settled is such a relief. RESOLVED AT LAST.

Oh and he has finally agreed to let me in the house to pick up some of my things too.

Scubadaz - oh my...I am so jealous...how cool is that...being on the London Chickenfoot gig film and so clearly too! well done that man!

elpp: yep did a few love songs, luckily still with the one I wrote them for, 20 years and counting. Switched over to mostly writing what I call poetry. I call it poetry for dummies lol. I write what I feel in very easy to understand language that hopefully brings out emotion in the reader, none of that stuff where you read it and then say "what the hell is that supposed to mean". Professionals have called it grade schoolish and poetry lite but I do it for myself more than to impress others. Anyway just curious if anyone else wrote and wanted to "compare". I have a couple that I think would make good songs but I don't have enough talent to combine them with music.

Thanks Do The Stu, should have a little more time to spare for on-line activities. Been very busy of late, just wish it was a good busy.

Cappy: we went to a Nickelback show a couple of weeks ago and if you think Sammy swears alot you should hear Chad Kroger, every other word out of his mouth was "F".

For those just getting into listening to Sammy's solo stuff, he has a lot of great stuff after Halen. Marching to Mars started it. Listen to Little White Lies and Salvation on Sand Hill for a couple of really great rockers.

catch everyone later!

Cappy Steve - I've heard Joe swear once...he dropped a pretty loud "F-" while talking to Blue_Moon and I about possible recording studios for Chickenfoot, after the last gig of his solo tour last year.

I thought it was pretty funny, in its own way.

burly - Awesome... Not 4 Sale was released on Sammy's own label, and I think it's out of print now. But it's well worth tracking down, used.

Also, do you have Live: Hallelujah? It's a pretty even selection of songs from all stages of Sammy's career, recorded in 2002. Guests include Mikey on bass/vocals for several VH songs, and even Gary Cherone (!) on a song. Very cool of Sammy to include him, I thought...

Satriella - "Congratulations" seems like the wrong word, but I'm glad to hear that things went well in court and the process is finally moving along. :-)

I hadn't heard Joe swear until the Reel Satriani video, and since then I have heard him swear a decent amount. He has great timing with the F-bomb.He dropped it during one of the JSX clinic type tours around the time of Is There Love In Space. It kinda seemed to jar the room a bit.I thought it was awesome.

Strange weather here this morning. It rained for a short while and now the ground looks dry.

Guitarvibes--It shouldn't be that hot in the Netherlands! That's not what I usually think of when I think of your country. I think of misty with occasionally sunny and blue skies. I think of 25 degrees C at the warmest during the summer.

Feel like I should unscrew my head and put it on a shelf......great line from Joseph. And I often feel that way....today--yes. I must go to the library today and see all the kids in their various moods. It's worth it all when they do funny things and make me laugh. They crack me up when they talk to each other about seeing animal characters in picture books.

Mr. McKenna--Why are you in Facebook twice?

Scubadaz--People use swear words for emphasis and to show they are angry. When you can't see a person's face, it can be difficult to tell their mood. We humans look for these signs to see where the boundaries are drawn and so as not to step over them if at all possible. It doesn't always work every time, though.

Austin- HaHa..i was tempted to start working out Joe's Chickenfoot Logo...but on the other hand...ay..the guy wants his own shirt so he drew one himself...i cant blame him and will respect his artwork as so many times mine was stolen. I would like to see some more designer type fanwear that could incorporate the repeating chickenfoot logo as a background...and also a much smaller logo on the existing styles ( i saw sammy wearing one once). The VIP shirts were made from a company called 'Dirtbag" and the shirts were"grinded" as they defined it... to cut the neck and sleeved with little slits...gives the shirt a nice aged look after only a few washings...and is a favorite shirt already...i hope the VIP this time around is something new but I would be satisfied with another great shirt! I have so many satch shirts and have lost 2 over the years....i think im up to ten including 3 chickenfoot ones.... Shirts are a serious issue considering you will usually spend 3 to 4 times more for a concert shirt than the album...and its mostly profits!!! Buying a shirt at a concert is the same as going up the band and giving them some money...lol

im curious of what your shirt collection contains...please..do tell!
