GoldenGirl2 - Actually, the air here in Long Beach is staying pretty clear. It's a nice change from all the fires in the past to have the smoke blowing inland and not over my head.

I did hear from a friend in Denver (juju808, for those who remember her) that smoke from the LA fires is visible waaay out there. That's 1,000 miles away!

You don't have Joe's Not Of This Earth album yet, do you? Musterion from PSATMOR is reminiscent of the NOTE title track in some ways...listen here.

I love, love, love this album.

I saw an interview somewhere on You Tube, with that band(you know ,those cold guys )Several months back. I wish I could remember what they said verbatim but they where very condescending and disrespectful and smug when they referred to Joe. Only they didn't call him Joe. ANY WHOOOOS..... I do not let that other (cold Guys)music pollute my mind any longer. From that day forward as a matter of principal.....because there is such a thing as respecting the artists that have paid their dues and put their heart and soul into their music and appreciate their fans the way that JOE does.

SkippyGirl--Steve Vai's 10 Favorite Instrumentals!!! I agree 100% with his Number 1 and Number 5 picks! When I first heard "Europa" by Carlos Santana, I thought I had entered heaven by sonic waves! And Joe Satriani's ITLIS title track is transforming and takes me to a place I want to return to again and again. I have the Jeff Beck CD "Blow by Blow" and love listening to it.....however, I have to be careful to bring myself back to earth once it's done.

Music is so loving and lovely and connecting. It bonds us to each other like nothing else!

I found an old Joe interview a few weeks ago when the internet was out at my apartment...I forgot about it until now. It's from the promo tour Joe did when ITLIS? was released. Joe talked a lot and played a few songs over the air. I edited two snippets together into one MP3 file...he's talking about Coldplay in the first, and he explains the If I Could Fly chords in the second. Looking back, I think it's funny that both of these things came up in the same interview.

This was from 4/16/04, which is a good year and a half after Coldplay's Chris Martin made a negative comment about Joe in a VH1 interview (the second question from the end). So even though Chris Martin had trashed him, Joe still had plenty of nice things to say about the band.
