Just got done watching "Made Of Tears" (from the Live 2006) for the umpteenth time . Such a powerful performance. I can never understand how some people can say that Joe has no SOUL, or Emotion in his playing .( not anyone on the forum) I don't think they ever took the time to listen......... or watch him play. I wonder why "live" clips of Psycho Monkey can't be found. Not played at the shows? I would love to see that one played live.

castle49 - oh dear, sorry to hear about the work situation. It looked like curtains for building and architectural here as well, but the Federal govt launched an infrastructure program to prop up the economy and it was for new schools mostly, and our local friends in that industry have had work non-stop on new school projects. It saved their bacon.

Hope something similar can happen for you, and provide some demand until the 'real" economy gets going again.

Lovely place Canada btw, had a fantastic 4 weeks there once, backpacking in BC and Alberta.

Peace Lily: How about a live version of Psycho Monkey that you can watch?!

Joe live in Anaheim 2005 Webcast

That link should hopefully open the movie up for you, as long as you have quicktime. If it doesn't work you can go to Foreverjoe.com, click on the media tab, and there are lots of vids to chose from, the Anaheim webcast being one. Psycho Monkey is on there, an absolutely jaw dropping version of Hordes of Locusts, Up in the Sky, Hands in the Air, Is There Love in Space?, Strange, Bamboo, Lords of Karma.... Lots of stuff you don't see Joe play every day!

I really wish that one would have been available on DVD! Joe was on fire that night and I think a few peeps from here were there to see it.. I wish I could just figure out how to record the audio from the webcast so I could listen to it in my car and on my ipod thingy...
Anyway, I hope those links work and I hope that's what you're lookin for!! Enjoy!

EDIT: Depending on your browser type, you may just want to right click on the link to the webcast, click on properties and copy and paste the URL into the "Open URL" open in quicktime and have QT open it directly so that you can change the size of the player rather than the vid just opening in a new browser window/tab.
Listening to: Axeshredder's KOTB's Jam

Axeshredderjc: This kicks Axe!! Ha! --Any way you can make that downloadable? I'd enjoy rocking out to that while I'm away from the computer as well. I DL'ed your cover of Flying in a Blue Dream a couple years ago and it had been in my car ever since!

Don't get me started on GC's methods.. I can't stand the GC here in Boise anymore. I do business with a little mom and pop guitar store downtown or over the internet, even if I have to pay more.

Ian

Skippy - We specialize in rehabilitating schools and do lots of work at community colleges. Money from the state has just frozen up. The competition is incredibly fierce.

Joe gave it a shot, but said he got to emotional to get through it.

My Generation/Star Spangled Banner

God Bless ya Joe, and thanks for putting that out there. I know you would have loved to finish it, but the emotions for 9/11 will always run deep, especially on the anniversaries. We love ya!

peace lily: I'm with you on that. I experienced it again today, I had my car jukebox on random again. (3000 songs) and would hear heaps of different stuff, but so many were just "music" - nice to listen to, but I couldn't "float" with it. But there are so many cool songs, ones that really take you somewhere or wrap you up or turn you inside, smack you around, etc. And for me they are diverse.

I like stuff by the beatles, muse, metallica, gorillaz, eric clapton, and so many songs from many different artists I don't know the names of. But it strikes me that there's only a few artists that seem to take me on journeys every time I listen.

castle: hell right now i'd be happy to take %80. of course if i were in your shoes i'd probably be a little pissed. bosses never take the hit, they cut and cut and keep living large right up until the company goes under, then they walk away with whatever they could keep their hands on.

minimoog; lot a players out there who can shred and are incredibly fast. still rather have someone who plays with feeling than someone who can "shred". as for the concert experience here in the states, you do get the pushers and such at a lot of the shows. it probably is because of the intensely competitive nature of most of the population of this country! i'd love to just dissapear somewhere where the nearest person is miles and miles away!

Hey axe; just telling it like it is. you got talent so i say use it. i wish i could make a living with music but just ain't got the chops. yeah ego's suck big time, one of the worst traits of the human condition.

WEED, like it or not at least it's all natural lol!

Turbo236- looking foreword to watching those links. Thank You. I do have (have had for a while) some issues with my Quicktime so I need to address that first.

Zenfish and the other creators of T2JSinfonie- Great work. Lots of creative energy there.

Roo-Yeah ...thats what certain songs do for me , Really love that "smack you around" analogy. *(as pertaining to what a song can do to a person)

Michelle -thanks for the link ,great example of Joe's love for humanity. Gave 'Ten Words' a listen yesterday . Parts of that song make me tear up. Alot to contemplate in that song.

Cappy Steve- G-3 LOL!!!!!! Now, I have t know who Burt Weedon is.

I'm currently crawdling with checking up Hot noiseless Strat set.

It changes from standard pick up. It's more responsive, & so, harder to play with.

don1963: Quite right! Expression and song writing are everything. What good is speed if it has no soul? That's why I like Joe so much. As opposed to many of his cohorts, his melodies are memorable and full of heart-felt expression.

Being Canadian I want to bring some attention to Bryan Adams in this regard. Most of his melodies are very simple. His song writing is technically uncomplicated, but beautiful and memorable - you often find yourself whistling his tunes for days. To me, that means far more than a contest of who can do their legato scales the fastest.

Day 3 of the ELPP 6 Days of 6-Packs started out on a sour note, it rained heavily a couple of hours before our soccer game, and thus half the team assumed there would be no game and didn't show up, we had to play the full game with 1 less player (10 vs 11), 2 of the 10 that played were injured and were not playing at 100%, we got our butts kicked 6-1. The only positive thing was that we played under a very light shower the whole game, felt kind of like mist. I enjoy playing under rain or snow (I have played soccer while snowing, believe it or not. Twice)

No post-game celebration obviously, but I did go out later with my girl friend (notice the space, this makes it different from a girlfriend... :D ) we went to a nice pub, listened to Mexican pop ballads, Mariachi and an imitator, the six pack was achieved (I had 3, she had 3), went to bed around 4 am again. All the partying and drinking is finally catching up, and having to play 90 minutes yesterday didn't help either. I'm tired. But the Juarez Indios play tonight, so off we go!!! Later.

If eventually some here are interested by Hot Noiseless Fender pick up (Jeff Beck experience), i just got them yesterday & check them seriously during this day.

Hot Noiseless song (some very weird blues)

I've to admit that the tone of the strat wins a lot with this set. More responsive, but more delicat to use. Still have to work.

Still turning inside Peavey C50. Wondering how this could sound with a Marshall?
