Politics and organized religion.
No use for either, not even a smidgen.
They both are meant to exert control.
Your heart, your mind, even your soul.
Shouting death to those who don't believe.
Those that do they will decieve.
Give us your money, we'll spend it for you.
If not give us power, thats fine with us too.
Some have tried to seperate church from state.
Others have combined them and think its great.
Evil resides comfortably within each.
What evil is not known they happily teach.
Both greedily prey on people's fear.
Follow them blindly because the end is near.
They have all unleashed the dogs of war.
Killing in the name of whatever they stand for.
The freedoms you have are mostly illusion.
Tightly controlled by these overbearing institutions.
Believe if you must in a higher authority.
Just don't push your controls and beliefs on me.
If there is a higher being for which you search.
You won't find it in a mosque, temple or church.
If you must have someone control your life.
Make it your mother, father, husband or wife.
Polititians, priests, rabbis, prophets and the rest.
Are just self serving charlatans at their best.
Someday I hope we leave these evils behind.
Free our hearts, souls and our minds.
Only then will we find true and everlasting peace.
That's when Heaven on Earth will be reached.
