Good morning Satchland!!
Michelle: I just got the email that my Bombastic MEATBATS CD has shipped!!!!! MEATBATS...MEATBATS!!!!
Hopefully it will be here by the release date on the 13th...
I went ahead and tapped into my guitar fund even though my speeding ticket isn't paid off and ordered a DS-1, an SD-1, a Groovetubes fatfinger guitar sustain enhancer and a Satch Chrome Dome pick. Been wanting to try one of those picks for awhile but no retailer ever has it in stock, so I had to resort to the internet, which is where I ended up finding the best price on the pedals anyway.

Caught the Chickenfoot show in Tahoe!!! Awesome Awesome! I've seen Sammy and Mike and the Wabos several times, but this is the first time I've seen Joe! Wow! Amazing combo of talent w/ all those gods of rock! Would love to have seen some of Joe's solo tunes. I ride my mountain bike screaming down the trails to "If I could Fly" and I alway tell my husband when I get back that it's almost as good as sex to ride my bike to that song!
Loved the Chickenfoot show Joe!

DistortedSoul - Well the more switch probably will scare the Blues Judges...the older the more scary..lol...First performance i used track 22...which was a mistake but i knew no one would play it because its kinda hard to play to...really i was shocked i won that...this time ill be using track 18 which is more G3ish and really opens alot of freedom to do almost anything...so i expect to be way more satisfied with my performance tonight than last week....whether the judges like it or not...last perfomance satchurator on 3/4...tonight it goes to 10 but no "more"..lol
Elpp, Skippygirl, Burly, Death Cube, Don, Scubdaz and all the T2Joers- thanks for your support and Luck...i will carry it with me all evening

Castle, 4 a.m. is ugly early!
minimoog, I agree too. The man is a genius on the guitar, but the fan & Cover Girl poses turn me off. I don't think I've seen the new clips yet, but from all the G3's I've been to, I come to the same thought at every show..."Dude...man up!" lol! I prefer Joe hands down.
Scubz, cheers!
Turboian, no email yet, but hopefully soon! I'm excited to have it in my little hands!
Drop it Buster!

minimoog: i'm in total agreement. Vai, Malmsteen, are the two biggies. But what about guys that aren't amazing? What about when some rock guitarist comes around and just thinks he's Jesus Christ on the guitar? At least Malmsteen's got the chops to show for it. And yeah, I agree with the taste thing. I can listen to Vai, not watch him. Satch, Johnson, the humble ones.....awesome. And John Petrucci....that guy almost looks scared on stage. I have to think that's a fine bit of humility in him.

I think your song "Time" is one of the heaviest, coooolest songs you've ever created. The driving, crisp guitar and bass are just awesome, and the lead solo's are just killer!!!! Would be nice to see a few more compositions in this style.
I could listen to this tune a hundred thousand "times" and never get tired of it.

Sad news on Phil Collins -
I can never play the drums again, says Phil Collins
That sucks so bad! He's one of my favorite drummers! That must hurt so bad. The pain of his back, and not being able to do what he's done for so many years. Man, that sucks!
CRANK IT!
I was just talking about Genisis with a guy at work today, and it turns out he was at the same show my hubs and I were at back in the day. We both did the drum part together and laughed saying it was on of the best moments of our lives.
God bless the man. He's one of the best!

KOTB Results...
Well i was picked to go first and right there and then i could have guessed my fate.....But i was warmed up and ready so i did my track with some cool shades and a jacket and was well recieved (i felt great about what i did and blew away my other performance which i didnt care for) as the night passed well, my chances seemed great...then the last guy was the best of the night and i figured his library of blues lick made it an easy win...so i loaded my stuff for the announcement...and what a freak that was...as it always is...i called every winner , every week and this time the judges heard something that many didnt..but again...its always the same at these things...the winner was a really nice guy with an English Accent...but as a former employee of that GC..well all other contestants were scratching their heads...we went out for sandwiches and discussed the night and we are all pretty glad that we didnt win because this event has become a great way to bring the few together as a community every time this event is held and can still get excited about winning the preliminary...so heres a recording..maybe a video to follow.
Thanks for all your support and comments. I dont feel like i lost. It all about the judges and i dont think they really know the difference between feeling and soul compared to a bunch of non expressive blues licks all patched together...lol...ill be back!........Dont Judge me..lol j/k go right ahead!

Mikesb- Thanks for the Greg Koch link. I actually watched the entire 9:15. The guy can stroke some sounds from a tele. Looks a bit dorkish but then again so does Rick Neilson.
Sad news about Phil Collins I too regard him highly as a drummer and great all around musician.
Axeshredder- You are a player. There is no best. It's like trying to compare players in the league of Joe, Vai, Malmsteen etc. You have to feel good about your ability to participate. It's all in fun really. Rock on.
Good night all.

I've been listening to CP in my car the past few days after not having it for a few months. My hubs took the cd out to the garage to listen to when he works out there. I'd play it if I was cleaning out my car or doing yard work, but I hadn't given it a good listen for a while. What a feckin masterpiece! HFOB is still one of my fav tunes, as well as CP. Psycho Monkey, A Train Of Angels, Ceremony... not a bad song on it!
AGGGHHHH!! Heinz fumbled!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!! Bad enough Troy got hurt.... ugh! 44 secs left....
coin toss....
HEADS!! wooooooooo!
GO STEELERS!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! They won the first game of the season!!
