T - good news, as you say one day at a time...

Glitzy - I'm fantastic thank you, just waiting for a Chickenfoot tour although I am going to see Davy Knowles in 17 days lol. Glad to hear your friend is better. Sure I won't see you run in Rio?? Maybe London then?

Scooby-do - thanks for the tip on the guitar, we're going this morning to have a look, I'll feel a bit funny playing some shop guitars when I can only strum a few chords but my brother is adamant I have to play all of them first.

elpp - lol those pics were funny. I do have to say, though, that Australia went nuts when they announced that the Games were coming to "Syd-a-ney" we love our sport so much it was fun to win the host city thing.

And here's a special treat for all our lovely Joe from 1989 on TV and part 1 here got them back to front

Not enough Joe in that vid. lol!

Thanks for the support peeps!

Have you peeps seen Stepbrothers? It's old, but I just saw it. Fav lines of the movie -

Nancy Huff: What the fucking fuck?

** Brennan Huff: Yeah. You better not go to sleep, cause as soon as your eyes shut I'm gonna punch you square in the face. (I now threaten my husband with that, and we bust a gut laughing) Dale Doback: I hope you stay still when you sleep, cause I'm gonna put a rat trap between your legs. Brennan Huff: I'm going to take a pillowcase, and fill it full of bars of soap, and beat the shit out of you.

Brennan Huff: I don't have to swear to shit! Dale Doback: That's 'cause you fucking touched my drumset! 'Cause I know COPS doesn't start 'till 4:00! Brennan Huff: [Brennan begins to leave the room] Dale Doback: Where you going? Brennan Huff: I'm going upstairs... 'cause I'm gonna put my nutsack, on your drumset! Okay? [Brennan continues to walk upstairs towards his drumset] Dale Doback: If you do that - I'm warning you, right now! If you touch my drums, I will stab you, in the neck, with a knife!

Good movie! Funny as hell!

John Selby - No, you can't go out to play ball, now be good, settle down to rest and think of that big ole choccy milk shake that's coming your way.

Scooby Doo - Looks like the Bush Kangaroo girl is giving your alternate nick to Scooper (Dazzler) Daz. You gotta fight, for your right, to niiiiick names. Or is it now a nicked nick name? Meds time LOL.

Just to do something totally different we saw Night Ranger and Journey last night. Neil Schon was great and the singer was fantastic. Back to the 80's. And the place really did reek of cheap perfume.

Hi Joe

I would like some advice and suggestions from you. I have been struggling with my music dreams and I feel like I'm getting no where.

I want a good education in music. This is impossible in the country I was born in. There are no music teaching systems or music programs or schools. I have left my country and I'm currently in Malaysia trying my best to start a degree in music. Even that seems to be a lot difficult since I don't have any music qualifications, which means I don't meet the entry requirements

I have played the guitar for 9 years, mostly self taught. I did take a few casual lessons from a local guitarist. Even with 9 years of playing, I have not done much. I have never performed, or learned any songs in full. I don't know much of theory and I don't know how to apply the little theory I know into practice.

I want to write and play my own music. Compose and arrange and perform. I want to be able to play neoclassical and progressive rock as well as pure classical and jazz and blues.

I'm sure you must have some helpful advice and insightful suggestions for me. I am 25 years old now and I am giving all my time and effort to find a good path to reach my goals.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks.

Someone on this forum knows how to choose great albums! I'm glad I followed the advice and got "Show me what you can do".....I didn't know this was copyrighted in 1998! Where have I been? Wait....don't answer that! I've been plodding along like a banana slug in the Cali coastal redwood forests! My faves are tracks 4, 7 and 8.

Does anyone know who the band Garbage is and where they are from. I heard their song "I'm only happy when it rains" and the lyrics to the song show the scariness of depression (the chronic illness that I deal with everyday)! I heard the song online at BBC radio Scotland--the Tom Morton show. Music reflects people's emotions alright......including the very scariest.

I'm in a better place as of yesterday and today. One song I love to listen to over and over is "Love Reign O'er Me" by the Who. Well written and performed, Pete Townshend! Quadrophenia is amazing!

Scooper Daz - My alternative nicknames may sometimes be slightly derogatory, possibly even facetious but NEVER intentionally offensive, only a bit of fun. My original nick wasn't Cappy, I only changed it to that because your chum Shroomboy kept calling me Cappy.
