Distorted Soul-- did you get a chance to see the band play "Turning Left" live. It's even better live, Satch Nuggets scattered throughout.

scuba and ptrocker: you're right about reading the manual scub. some of the stuff in there just seemed so hokey, like how to clean your strings and wipe your guitar down after every use.
C'mon....who does that? Hmmm, maybe I should though...LOL

"GG2:-if you are seriously considering using or using heroin let me know and i`ll remove you from my FB....i`ve got no time for druggies."
Scubadaz--Jayus, man! I take prescription drugs.....that three doctors write--antidepressants, tranquilizers, analgesics, anti-hypertension and thyroid control medications. I don't have a clue as to how to get street drugs like heroin. I don't hang out with ppls who do street drugs nor do I know anyone who does. I'm just asking ppls to think about the history of alcohol and its relationship with opiates like morphine and heroin. Alcohol, morphine and heroin are all analgesic/tranquilizers. The only difference is alcoholic drinks are regulated in a way that it is accepted by most people as common adult beverages and morphine and heroin are considered taboo because they are considered demonic substances that are more addictive than alcohol, tobacco or regulated prescription drugs. The truth is alcohol, tobacco and some prescription drugs can be just as habit forming and addictive as morphine and heroin.
If you want to drop me from FB that's your business. And your loss!

Mr. Satriani,
I am a senior in high school. One of the technology classes I am taking involves a capstone project where I must conduct a technical investigation into a problem of my choice and create a potential solution. My project is being conducted on microphonic feedback that affects distorted guitar tones. To proceed with this project I need professional justification that confirms that this is indeed a problem. Given your rather through know-how and technique with the electric guitar, I would like to know of your thoughts on microphonic feedback. Please let me know, thank you very much.

Hmmm.... just a couple of pages since I last posted properly... ok, wading in... might need a some alcohol to get me through here... anyone?
Saw Mr Big last Saturday and they were ultra cool. It wasn't CF, but it was right up there.
Scuba - I remember you saying now that the headaches you thought were caused from car driving. How can you get round that (other than not drive cars of course)? Good result for Rubino just gone, shame for webber & lewis. Also a shame about Jenson :-p
Bet you can't guess who was support for Mr Big ......................................
Fatape - man, I can't believe we passed each other in Sydney... that's flukey as f***. What on earth made you spot that detail though as you're wayyyyy in the background LOL (and it was a mobile phone pic). Good eyes dude!
Ptrocker - thanks for that, will check it out
Mahavishnu - thanks Brian, Kiss my Axe is ringing a bell for some reason. Nice pics as usual. Mine from Mr Big where a FAIL......
Ozzy Fudd - another good recomendation by the look of it. Wallets gonna take a hit at this rate
Skippy - the muse I recorded looks like about 6 tracks. I'll try to get to converting it later this week and upload. I think the radio set (that I missed) just streamed live from the event... doh : ( enjoy party/beer time this weekend
Elpp - Elegant Gypsy sounds cool. I'll add that one on to the list, thanks
Do The Stu & Cosmic Ape - bang, and the wallet is emptied with Friday night in San Fran going on the list too. Ta
Michelle - nice show review, everything I've seen/heard/read about ChickenAC says you all had the most amazing time. Nice one you lot. That really is bad news about Phil Collins. Sad to hear. Thanks for the Molee clip... oh, and are you saying Al's a ginge?
Burly - am good man thanks. You? Pablo has been getting better... but I still say he should go back to Indycar. Obviously likes burgers and not training ha ha. Sounds like you had a great time at the show. Cool huh! Thanks for the review
Roo - it's no more whacked than flying over for two shows (not picking up any axes) and going home again so don't feel too weird! It must be close now.... excited yet LMAO. Thanks for the interesting exchange the other evening
Mikesb - I loved Healey on Roadhouse. He's probably the best bit. Shame about Muse & U2... sounds like a great gig (if it had been that combo)
Do The Stu - grand canyon trip looks cool. I like the sound of the hike. The whole thing has to go on my to do list for sure. Any particular start point I should note or even any part I should avoid?
The photos remind me a lot of the blue mountains down under. Pic 14 even looks like the base for the Three Sisters to me
Cheese101 - yep, I def missed out. Thanks for the mail, will reply as soon as poss. Plane lurgy... noooooo. I can't stand that! Did you manage to bob & weave out of it? Apparently lavendar (in some sort of gel/lotion form) takes the bite out of sunburn.. I know it's late now, but a future tip. Apparently Vodka's good for a lotta stuff too lol... and a big hearty congrats to your folks, that's awesome!
Keniko - when I saw G3 06 and Joe opened with Flying I got goosebumps and felt like I was going to get all emotional over it. I like to think it was down to not long being off a 20 something hour flight lol
Don1963 - don, I went to look at the picture you mentioned of mikey holding up a poster, but I can't see it. Have you taken it down? Glad wifey liked the jokes... I don't normally copy & paste but I just figured worth the odd chuckle. and yes, thank you so much. Haven't we exchange emails about it before now? I maybe losing the plot... again! lol

Ethn Hayabusa - I've mentioned it a couple of times but I remember an article in Guitar for the Practicing musician (does that still exist?) where they used to play a different track from a few different artists to a guitarist of their choice and ask for their review and they played AWMAWY to Jeff Beck who said something along the lines of "it's too sterile, too precise, like every note, every harmonic had to be perfect and so played over and over".... I remember being very disappointed to read comments like that.
minimoog - guitar looks pretty sweet to me. Enjoying it?
alexandrecaetano - congrats on your new born. Amazing. You got a routine yet or are you a very tired guy?
CappySteve - hey Cappy, you ok? That was a pretty saddened post you made a short while back... has everything picked up? Two crates of vitrual beer passed your way if that helps
Cube & MikesB - the chick thing IS spot on lol. I found an old vid the other day and have uploaded a few clips but basically most of the famous male guitarists answered the question of why did you start playing the guitar with "to get chicks"..... priceless
Elpp - erm the ticket selection thing does sound like a bit of a classic. Good job you checked before the gig... that could have been entertaining!
Have a good weekend everyone - back later to post stacks of links...

Pip:, thanks for the interview link. I always get a kick out of Chad's interviews, even if they are in print.
Do The Stu: Where ya been?? Was all that DMB last week just too much for ya?
In other news, my Meatbats CD finally came in the mail today!! I am just now peeling the plastic off of it to take it for a spin. I must say I'm a little disappointed, though. The pre-order said it came with an autographed booklet, which it did.... but, Chad was the only band member that signed it. I guess I just kind of assumed that it would be a group thing..
Come to think of it, though, when Joe does a pre-order signing, I guess he is the only one that signs the booklet. It's just weird to think of the drummer as the "frontman" I guess!!
Oh well; not much I can do but enjoy the music. I didn't buy it for the autograph anyway, it's just a nice bonus.

Chickenfoot’s debut album certified Gold
Monday, 14 September 2009
Chickenfoot’s debut album was certified GOLD by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) last Thursday, Sept. 10th.
Congrats to Chickenfoot for selling 500,000 albums! Pretty impressive for a hard rock band to do that in the year 2009!
Congrats Joe and Chickenfoot

Skippygirl: ha, that has a funny story. I was up really late and got my eBay updates. Looked through most, only 2 left, but was soooooooooo tired I went to sleep. Woke up in the morning and checked the next one, it had the 7" chickenfoot single, I got all excited and hit buy, buy, BUY, but it took me to eBay and it was already gone!
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I cried, and fell to the floor dramatically (for effect)
So that was you? Grrrrrrr!!
Anyway, eBay was kind enough to also show me there was another still for sale, so I bought that one...
So the lesson is : "never sleep!"
LOL
Burly: cannot wait!!! 3 days... The funny thing is, we're also getting to see Miley cirus the night we arrive..............?
........!????!????
........???????????!!!!!????
It's my daughters birthday, and miley just started a tour and has a concert in LA when we arrive, how's that for coincidence.
Hahaha! "Satch nuggets".... He he he. I'm going to look in the supermarket freezer for those alongside the chickenfoot nuggets...
Minimoog, I don't promote people buying bootlegs, but I know people who search the web for Satriani DVDs usually find a company in New Zealand that sells some. I wouldn't know about that, just something I heard from someone once.....
Scubadaz, that one stood out for me too. Nothing a steady hand and black felt pen wouldn't fix. However, those guys are boycotted as far as i'm concerned. Bloodsucking leeches.

SkippyGirl :- Wayyy in the background of Pip's Facebook profile pic wearing an orange tee.
How's Ten Words Coming along? It's probably my 2nd fav Satch tune after AWM,AWY! You can really hear the emotion Joe must've been feeling in both those tunes. They resonate deeply in me anyway. One day I'll do some you tube clips for everyone to see. In the mean time , you just keep rockin' like a good thing rocks, girl. Cheers!
