And I'm back at home...
The Chickenfoot show was very solid, a great end for the tour, although I think Berkeley was a tad better. The set was the same that we know and love, the energy level was high, and Sammy's voice still sounded great.
They brought Davy Knowles out to jam during Bad Motor Scooter, and he held his own with Joe better than most other guest guitarists I've seen at Satch shows...until Joe started playing with his teeth, that is. ;-)
It was great hanging out with roo and cosmic_ape...the three of us got a nice photo with Joe that I'm sure will be posted once roo is back home. There's a photo of us chowing down on In-N-Out that's just waiting to be shared, as well.
I also talked to Chad briefly...I asked him to recommend a Glenn Hughes album that he worked on, so I could hear some of his playing there. He suggested Soul Mover. I also told him I was excited about the Meatbats but hadn't bought the CD yet...and little did I know, I was actually standing in front of all of them. So I got their autographs too...woohoo!
The Meatbats are playing at a club in LA tomorrow, but so is Davy Knowles...I haven't decided yet which (if either) I'll go to. Argh...tough choices! ;-)
Skippygirl, you've got a direct message from me on Twitter. You'll have something from me that roo will get to you once he's back in Australia.
EDIT - There are two Ns in Glenn Hughes.

GG2: Get well soon!
Death Cube: Is AXE-FX's sound 5/6 times better than Line 6 POD? With such price, it better be! :p
All: Last Friday I went to see the first night of the "Love" tour by The Cult. Billy Duffy is in great shape! He played the whole album with the exact same tone and brilliantly! He used a beautiful white Gretsch. It sounded awesome! For the encore he brought a Les Paul, but in general the guitars had an amazing sound... Definitely a night to remember! Rock lives!
Boa semana everyone! ;)

hey Joe, the Chickenfoot show at the Gibson last night was awesome! We had great seats and had way too much fun. I won the aftershow passes of of the site here but was given 3 different answers by the ushers and was told to come back after the show for the meet and greet. We went as soon as the show was over and were told that our passes were no good and our meet and greet was during the intermission. Besides that, the show was one of the best I've been too. You guys looked like you were having fun up there! Congrats on the Gold records!

Thanks peeps for your good thoughts and prayers...
Hard to know what to say at this point. Meeting with the surgeon this afternoon to go over things. As I understand it, my dad would die without the surgery, but the surgeon is very iffy on even doing it because it's so high-risk. And a long recovery afterwards if he pulls through. So we're going to get all the info today, and then my dad will make the decision what to do............or not do.
My heart is tearing from my chest bit by bit when I think of the possible outcome.....but I can't stand to see him in this kind of pain. I will support whatever he decides and we'll all deal with it as best as we can. I'm praying for the best outcome but only time will tell. My father is so dear to me. As I took my mom away last night to bring her home...she kissed him and said "You can't leave me yet big fella". She needs him as he needs her. I need them both.
Back later when I can, hope the prayers can keep comin for awhile yet....and thanks. Really.

Why are you people up at 9 a.m.? That's why your heads hurt.
I didn't get home until LATE (3:30 a.m.?) because there was an accident on the freeway...but I slept in until 11 a.m. or so. My head doesn't hurt too badly.
Man, what a great show!
Other stuff I didn't mention:
- Like in Berkeley, Sammy thanked the crowd for making the Chickenfoot album go gold (500,000 copies shipped to stores)...they were presented with the award in LA, and when Sammy came out at the encore to talk to the crowd Chad and Mikey walked out to show it off. Those two made a big deal out of the fact that Sammy has a gold record with four different bands now (Montrose, solo, Van Halen, and Chickenfoot)...pretty cool!
- At the end of the gig, Sammy said "We'll see you sooner than you think."
- While we were talking to Joe after the show, he said the Paris DVD will be out in the third week of January. That's still a ways away, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the date shift a bit. I asked him if the whole concert will look like the Revelation video we saw a year ago, and he said yes and that the whole show looks pretty cool in that format. I'm more excited to see it that way now than I was in the past...it should be good.
More to come, as I remember it all...

Tracie: Best wishes for your family. Hang in there!
So, the new DVD late January eh? I can't say that I'm the biggest fan of the format of the Revelation video, but I am still super excited about it. I really hope there will be a full CD to accompany this one. Did Joe mention anything about that, Austin?

If you wanted to ask Anthony Kiedis a question, what would it be? He is following people on twitter at the moment, if you want me to ask him something, let me know inside 22 hours.
