Darren wanted desperately to have sex with this really cute, really hot girl in his office... But she was dating someone else.

One day Darren got so frustrated that he went to her and said "I'll give you $100 if you let me have sex with you."

She girl looked at him, and then said, 'NO!'

Darren said, 'I'll be real fast. I'll throw the money on the floor, you bend down and I'll finish by the time you've picked it up.'"

She thought for a moment and said that she would consult with her boyfriend.

So she called him and explained the situation.

Her boyfriend says, 'Ask him for $200, and pick up the money really fast. He won't even be able to get his pants down.'

She agreed and accepts the proposal.

Over half an hour goes by and the boyfriend is still waiting for his girlfriend's call.

Finally, after 45 minutes the boyfriend calls and asks, 'What happened...?'

Still breathing hard, she managed to reply,

'The bastard had all quarters!'

Management lesson:

Always consider a business proposition in its entirety before agreeing to it and getting screwed.

we all know this story but its a recent news article...maybe because the world has been sleeping as Joe has been rewriting Guitar History....now theyre interested?...lol

how-jimi-hendrix-changed-my-life

the article ends with this sentence "Joe Satriani is a multiple Grammy-nominated guitarist and songwriter, as well as a member of the band Chickenfoot."

...clearly written for those who dont know Joe...but want to!!!!...Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!

I notice the "and songwriter" in the tag at the end. Have any of Joe's Grammy nominations been for anything other than Best Rock Instrumental Performance?

That sounds like it was added because of the Coldplay thing, but with the way the lawsuit was settled I doubt he gets a songwriting credit (we would've heard about it if he did, since it'd start showing up in copyright records).

I'm probably reading too much into those two words, but oh well.

yeah true also i know quite of guitar players that can play better then me this is something(this is what i do for a warm up) when im bored so tbh yeah you also could find players better then me then can arpeggio better them me ill prefer to player blues with my fender like hendrix and sir stevie ray vaughan but tbh i only do arpeggios for a warm up but blues is my passion till i die yeah i can do 4 finger tap till 5 finger tapings. sesssion musicians wages is no problem i worked for coca cola so it is not a problem i only do 2 hrs a day playing when ive got a gig 4 hrs i know every one on in this website should be playing for fun but at the end of the day every one should be playing to their hardest to be getting found out my producers (just like me even tho money aint everything and nor is fame) but everyone has a perpuse in life and mine is to play to the people that love music.

Do the Burgers - Mebbe i've got it wrong but I think that tracks are often referred to as songs even if they are instrumental. I reckon the guitarist and songwriter refers to the fact that not only does he play he writes the music as well. Having said that, I will add my usual rider 'I could be talking bollox' LOL

I agree with you Stew..the Songwriter part is emphasized because of the Coldplay deal for sure.....but im almost sure the settlement was made so the reputation of Coldplay is not tarnished...and ill guess they paid dearly for that...but also...i think a mediator or judge told them...settle this out of court and dont waste State money on a squabble between 2 rich people...if so, ill guess again that the lawyers settled it...where the musicians would have never.

Hi all,

I think the idea of having Joe playing with a low-budget guitar/amp would be awesome to prove you don't need expensive gear to play and have fun with a guitar.

It reminded me of one episode I had a long time ago with Gonçalo Pereira, who taught me for a couple of months (I think you guys have already heard of him).

I referred to him something about the importance of maintaining all your fingers in good health to be a good guitarist. He then showed me what it would be like if he lost two of his fingers, by playing guitar using just the index and the middle finger.

All I can say is:

1) you barely could tell the difference

2) two of his fingers play better than my four :S

If Gonçalo Pereira doesn't need all of his fingers, why would Joe need multi-thousand dollars equipment to sound awesome??

Cheers, VP

Amazing vid, Axe.

I'm sad to announce that a great guitar player in a very up and coming band, and a friend of mine, died yesterday. Adam Nill was still in College, while his band Nex was on a hiatus at the time. Adam lived a few houses down from me before he went to college. I'm very sorry to know that no one else will get to witness the talent, or especially the person he was.

thats the one alrite

but then again when you do play the same song for 22 years on a constant basis... its bound to sink in somewhere along the line!

i am rahter sick of people giving misinformant commenting on youtube though :)

is misinformant even a word? it should be

Exactly what I was talking about... His sound comes from his fingers, not from the guitar/amp/fxs. Txs for the video, Axe!
