I don't think I mentioned this in my post yesterday, but the Joe Perry Project played an album release gig at the Viper Room.

I was there...some of my photos are on Facebook.

The photos are from my cell phone camera so they aren't the best, but Joe played a nice variety of guitars so they're worth looking at for that if nothing else. He has a lucite guitar (similar to the Crystal Planet JS, kinda), one with an airbrushed image of his wife, a few left-handed Fender Strats strung upside-down, and (of course) some Gibson Les Pauls.

Ross Halfin was there shooting...I shook his hand afterward and said I was a fan of his work, but then he started talking to a friend of his so I wasn't able to say anything about his Chickenfoot photos. Oh well...

I saw Slash was at the show, in a booth off to the side with (I think) Nikki Sixx. And what's the name of the guy who I think is Guns N Roses' second keyboard player, with a stage name similar to Dizzy's? I'm drawing a blank... Someone said he was there with them too, but I don't know who he is or what he looks like (How's that for vague? Haha...).

I think this will be my last concert of the year, unless I find $300 to go see U2, so it was a good one to go out on.

Pippy, in the group pics from AC, I have on platform type shoes with 2 inch heels, and T is wearing flats. I was faking it pretty good, but the most important part of that trip height wise was that I still fit in Joe's hug "nook" perfectly :-) As for my mom - wtf is going on? I thought it was pneumonia because of how congested she sounded and she was having a hard time breathing. Nope. Seems she has a nice puddling of blood inside her heart that is being caused by an irregular heartbeat. They have to put her on blood thinner for four months, and hope it doesn't clot. If she gets a blood clot in her heart - it's curtains. After the four months on blood thinner, they want to shock her heart back to a regular rhythm. That news alone has her more freaked out than anything. You might as well have told her that she was going to the electric chair. They told her she'd be sedated for it. I think she needs to be sedated for the next four months cause she's gonna stress herself into a heart attack ffs. She's supposed to rest and do no strenuous activities. That's prolly not gonna happen, but I think she might be scared enough to take it easy for maybe a week. After that, she'll prolly say she feels okay, and then start doing to much. *sigh*

T-Bones, always thinking about yer dad and yer lil' mum. *hugs*

Do they have Jagermeister in an IV solution? I'll have 3.

Stormy Monday

Michelle - ha, yes I suppose fitting the hug nook is a good thing to have going!

I'm sorry your mum (& you & family) are going through that. Sounds like it's gonna be under control relatively quickly. I think I've read about that procedure before but it only sounded like a minor jolt.

But FFS, who wouldn't be stressed if they had it explained to them like that. I'm sending some more hugs & vibes from over here, although I fear the hug might see you disappear somewhere around armpit level... soz

Stay strong

Scuba - cool, look forward to it. I haven't played since a quick practice in August : (

Since I'm quite a bit taller than you, does that mean Joe fits into MY hug nook? Uh... ;-)

Michelle - scary news for your Mum I can see how it might freak her out. Sounds a little similar to my M-I-L they put her on blood thinning drugs and then put a defibrillator (pacemaker) in and she has been 500% they should have done it 10 years earlier (well they would have if they had known) and it really doesn't bother her at all. The only thing is she can't go in a hybrid car (electromagnetics) and she can't use our cooktop cos it's induction (again electromagnetic).

Oh, and did you see the post from Pip saying that "Pippy" is his bedroom name? LMAO!

Pippy - er Pip, thanks for the msg, thank God you told me about the Stairway to Heaven rule I never knew!!! Lucky I can't play it, as it was all I could do was strum the 16 or so chords I know and make a sound LOL.

Do The Stu - thanks for putting me onto Dave Matthews Band I got one of his CD's for my birthday and I really like it. Sometimes it sounds like Neil Young, sometimes funky, a real mix.

michelle - Sorry to hear about all you are going through. I will add your mom to my growing prayer list.

Wow there has been alot of not so good stuff going on here. I think it is time things start looking up.

Cheese - You are giving us hope! Good news about your Dad. Definite answer to prayer. Will keep praying for him. Hugs to you!!

Ozzy - Sorry to hear about the break up. It is good that you agreed to not make it nasty. I went through nasty with the first. The hubby(Mahavishnu) and I will celebrate our 20th in December. Found my true love the second time around. Keep your head up. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is not a train.

Scubadaz - ah yes, the reasonably loud amp in order to obtain the opening feedback. "It will be done, oh yes it will be done..." you haven't been gazing lovingly at a cream strat through a shop window by any chance....?

Michelle - no belly button hugging for me either. I think someone would have to be 12ft tall for that to work on me....

Do The Stu - "Since I'm quite a bit taller than you, does that mean Joe fits into MY hug nook?".... well, I guess there's only one way to find out!?

Blue Moon - how long were you gone - fortnight? You get on some wicked trips huh!

Skippygirl - shhhhh... I figured MIchelle was just using my bedroom name to try and get a rise out of me

How can you not know the Stairway rule? It's all over waynes world lol I owe you several emails which I hope to get done at work (oops!)

Cheese101 - that must be Austin you're referring too as he IS tall. I think Blue Moon should change his nick, travel whore has a certain ring to it

Thought the KISS on Letterman video might have been part of his confession in the week... far too much tongue in that kiss though : )

Austin, cool you got to see JPP! Right up front as usual too! I think yer tall enough for Joe to fit in yer hug nook, but ya gotta admit... I look better in Joe's nook than he looks in yers. lmao!!!

PipSTER, they'll be nooo getting a rise around her! Put that thing away! Now Skippy has me afraid to say Pippy cause things might happen! Oh dear, oh dear! Maybe I should call you Mr. Pip? Hopefully that'll keep things where they belong. lol!

Thanks everyone for the nice words for MA and my mom. MA's service is this morning, and my heart is already heavy. Deep breffs.

Today is also my son's 18th birthday. He is getting one present, but it's a good one! More on that later.

Hi all!

Ozzyfudd - re: The wife's, lets say, coping. We will pull through this. we refuse it to get nasty and full of hate. To many good times over the past 20 to leave on a sour note

I really hope that is the case....mine ended a year and a half ago and I felt/feel the same, things were civil and good to start with but then when ex's new girlfriend got established (it was ok to start with) his attitude got worse and worse (not speaking via email/text...abusiveness on the phone inc ringing my 78 year old mum and shouting at her for passing on information that he was going away on holiday) up to the point of calling the police because i went to the house to pick up my pool cue, 2 videos and some photos! Its all ridiculous and un-necessary but what can you do...as I said I do hope things remain good for you...any chance of reconcilliation?

Pip - the rise in the bedroom made me giggle too!!

Hugs SAtriella xx
