Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hope everyone is doing well. I'll be celebrating with my family on Sunday because my sister, brother-in-law, and my nephew & niece are just getting over the flu. I just got off from work in the restaurant (Marriott). Unfortunately, I have to go back tonight to work a double, and be back (the day after) in the morning. Good grief, anywhere I work, the bosses and coworkers act like they are in desperate need of me. They should know better in not taking advantage of me.

Oh well, but at least these people won't interfere with my running schedules. I'm already getting races lined up for 2010. I have about a dozen races written down, and much more soon.

Well, time to rest a little and then it's back to work again.

Happy Holidays, Felνz Navidad, Merry Christmas Everyone!

McDave, my party here was actually last night also, but when I woke up this morning I felt like I was still "in it". lol! Today was the calm after the storm so to speak. Last night we had two 2 year olds, a 15 month old, and an 11 month old here that were giving about 25 adults a run for our money. Funny how some people forget they're parents of little ones when they get around family. They just assume somebody else is watching them. That's so not cool. Anyways, it was a good time had by all, and that's what matters.

LOVE YA JOE!

oooohhh my aching head, had a lovely long Xmas Day at our place that finished at 2 am this morning, Mr Skippy and I are just starting to mop the floors now and its 12pm lunchtime, the Boxing Day cricket is on, my head hurts, I look like crap but boy was it a great day. I beat the kids at World Cup Badminton so I am the reigning champ for 2009.

Hope you all had a great day (having?) .

Austin - I got Steve Vai's DVD and Them Crooked Vultures

edit...also caught up with my bro-in-law the flamenco guitarist and he gave me a lesson, he's a cool guy. I showed him the tab for Turkey Man, he played it once slowly then just played it straight up without looking at the tab again - FFS!! Amazing. Then he says "well you just have to know the pattern in the first 2 measure and repeat" - I had no idea and I was only up to about the 5th note after several weeks.

We had a laugh at the new Line 6 amp - he got me to play Smoke On the Water (badly, slowly) and as I'm doing that he starts playing the bass line on his guitar which was fun ! It helps when you have a pro!

Dazza - you pay attention to detail for sure. Yes your birthday is 1 year since I first picked up a guitar. Not very advanced but thanks to my bro-in-law I have tonight practiced Turkey Man and almost got it although any decent guitarist would think I was pretty bad haha. So maybe I have got 1 Satch song in 1 year which was my goal - I have 2 days left!

Just got home from work to find Davy Knowles new DVD in my mail pile. YAY!

edit: Just finished watching the dvd. WOWEEWOOWOOO! It's sooo good! If you like Davy & his band, this is a must have! He even gives a shout out to Joe & Chickenfoot & "a lot of tequila." lol! What a talented kid! Absolutely brilliant if I do say so myself. At the end of the show, he does something special, and if yer a crybaby like me, you'll need a tissue. I'm so glad I ordered this one. I feel all warm & toasty. lol! Great band. Davy reminds me of my ol' cat Lumpy. He was a Manx too ;-)

Buy it!

Hope everyone here had a Merry Christmas. I've been down with the flu for a few days and am just now getting back to normal. First time I've been sick in at least 10 years!

Anyway, I had a very cool Christmas... I got tickets to the Experience Hendrix show in Mesa, AZ, It Might Get Loud on DVD, the new Kiss album and $1000 to put towards a new amp!! I went out and bought myself the new Journey DVD "Live in Manila", and am thoroughly enjoying that as well. That's all the music related gifts, and I have to buy a ticket to Arizona to see the show, but that is worth it I think.

My grand-daughter is out of the oxygen tent and doing so much better, she may get to go home with her parents Monday Or Tuesday. I want to thank all the peeps that sent prayers and good vibes, it is greatly appreciated. Hope every one had a great Christmas , I know I did.

I didn't get any music related gifts but I did get a major upgrade on my computing equipment and also faster internet . :-)

I am going to look into getting the Davy Knowles DVD, it sounds great.

Also, I wonder what Chad is going to do now that John Frusciante is not on board with the "Peppers" ?

Al, it's better than waking up in somebody elses clothes with the taste of *insert foulness here* in yer mouth. lmao!

Hi 5!

GG2, Manx cats are the best. I had one for 17 years. When you see the end of the dvd and the bonus bits, you'll understand what I mean. He's a homesick kid visiting his home and realizing just how much he missed it.

scubz, hope the dogs are okay. Sounds like a hurlathon. Happy Birthday!

Peas Lily, now that's a great Christmas present! Give the youngin' some lovin' for us here on t2j.

T-Safley drives safely on Sundays.

It is Sunday, isn't it? *looks left, looks right, shrugs*

snipet from Music Radars 200 list of great thing of 2009

#59. Has 2009 been the year of the 'supergroup'? Sure seems like it. First there was Joe Satriani, Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith making up the unlikely foursome that was Chickenfoot… …and then there was Them Crooked Vultures. Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones, Josh Homme… The line-up was even more unexpected than Chickenfoot's but the trio unleashed a debut album that rocked hard despite being a year late. Expect to see more of these birds next year.

year in review/ June snipet

Chickenfoot was this year’s second supergroup and the release of their album in June was preceded by colossal hype. The ‘foot, made up of Joe Satriani, Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith, went on to play a series of smokin’ sell-out shows, one of which resulted in the fire department being called out (really). Satch caused further fuss in June by breaking his longstanding alliance with Peavey and switching back to Marshall for amplification.

speaking of Marshall, Joe, you said you would explain more when the time is right...its clear youve changed but is there any more work with Peavey?

just checked out Them Crooked Vultures...talk about a bad zeppelin copy!...now thats overhype!...chickenfoot blows them away...hahaha
