hi all chris here
I have a dinner gig coming up on the 23...most likeley playing guitar with a female singer im working with right now..
The mood is lighter more dinner type music...
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on some songs...For example one of the songs we were thinking of doing was john lennons famous tune, imagine...
These songs/ style is not really my thing...but will adapt to fit whatever the gig needs...
suggestions?
thanks

Conch - Funnily enough I have (on both counts)!! Thanks for reminding me, what a laugh it was (til my dad came home from work tired and rapidly VERY grumpy). When I was about 19 me and my two best buds had decided to go on a camping trip up the north east coast of England, across Scotland and back down the northwest coast cutting back across the Yorkshire dales to home. One of my buds had a two man tent so I said I would buy one for myself. So, into the city we went and after a bit of shopping about I got a tent. This being a cause for celebration we decided to have a beer. Four hours later I came up with the idea of pitching the tent in our back garden to see how easy it was and what it looked like. Cue rain, hic, I know says I, we can shift the furniture from the front room into the kitchen and pitch it inside. Half an hour later all the furniture from the front room was in the kitchen completely blocking the door (which we hadn't thought a problem. After all that work we needed a few beers to replace lost fluids. Then we set about putting up the tent, obviously we couldn't hammer the tent pegs in so I came up with the bright idea of using big pans of water to hold things in place. Eventually we got the tent up, the carpet was awash (WTF, it'll dry, hic) and we decided to celebrate with a few beers. Next thing there's an almighty commotion at the back and after 5 or 10 minutes when the noise wouldn't go away I went to investigate. Seeing nothing I staggered back to the front room with three more beers just in time to come face to face with my dad who had climbed in through the dining room window and was incandescent with rage, when confronted by three rather drunk teenagers this rapidly advanced to thermonuclear explosion proportions. Two of us made a break for the back door only to find it blocked and my other mate tried to climb out of the front room window. Trying to rip an ear off each of us my dad marched us back into the front room where we met the sight of the third member of our trio stuck in the window throwing up all down the outside of the window and onto the path, cue more drunken hysterical laughter from the two of us suspended by our ears. So much shit rained down on me for the next I don't know how long I thought i'd been transmogrified into a sewage worker! But looking back, what a fecking LAUGH.

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there,
I hope all is well in the Realme of Satch.......
I wish that a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year was has by all. It's been a long time.....quite a long time....
My condolences to JOe & family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. She was a lovely woman, I had the honor of meeting her on a few occasions In NY. I'm glad she was with family & loved ones when she passed.
Kayla: I'm sorry for your loss sweetie. I've been thinkin of you lately...little did I know. Been wanting to call you but with the time diff I think about it when it's too early to call then I've been getting side tracked.... We'll talk very soon.
Lots has happened since I've stopped by in July. New Job, New House, living in a new state with my husband after being apart for the first 10 months of marriage... it's been quite a change/ challange. We finally got hooked up with cable for PC & TV last Sat....so good to have my PC back!! I didn't miss TV nearly as much as the computer access.....WOW.
Unfortunately someone broke into our house on Thrusday.
Kicked in 2 doors. They stole all of my Cameras & photog. equipment as well as some Jewelry. Thankfully they didn't get any of my Grandma's heirloom stuff. I've been going through things trying to figure out what they took. Thankfully our guitars & Amps etc didn't get taken. It could've been much worse......I still feel sick about it tho. They made SUCH a MESS! So did the detectives with their Black & white powders. Haven't heard if they have any leads, most likey not.
I was finally getting the house to look decent when these guys trashed the place.... Keep your valuables in your kitchen closet. They go right for the bedrooms. Might need another hiding place for Guitars tho.... Take an inventory of all your important items as well, have appraisals if necessary. If there's ever a fire you will also know what's lost.
We'll be getting an alarm system. Also reinforcing the door jams....I believe both were steel doors. It was the framing that gave way.
Good to be back.....I've missed my friends..... Missed JOe too!
Rock On
Peace & Love to all for the New Year!!
2010 is going to be a great year.

LMAO you guys crack me up with your camping stories. Er, you do know I was using a figure of speech right??
It's 43 deg C here today - big indoor "camping" day for sure. Red "catastrophic" fire alerts in different parts of the state.
This nothing to do with anything, I just thought it was good to share this excellent performance you won't guess what it is.
You have to wait for the stupid car ad first unfortunately.

Guitarmeister: lookup Norah Jones. I'd pay to hear a good female singer doing some Sinatra or Elvis songs, so maybe try that as well. Couple of U2 ballads, Eagles...just my 2 cents!
Cappy Steve: that poem was LMAO material. Thx!
So here I was earlier today, thoroughly enjoying the Simpsons 20th anniversary special, when 30 minutes into it the signal goes off. Did NOT return until 2 hours later.....they better rerun that shit!!! So much for f'ing digital TV!!!!
One thing I did take away from the half of the special I saw was the puniness of my Simpsons collection. I might still have the biggest collection in Juarez though. That's my story until someone proves me wrong! jejeje

Thanks for all the good wishes for me and family. You guys are great.
Hi Skippy, way to rub it in with the getting out of the pool thing. We are shivering over here. Ha ha. Enjoy that great weather.
Will probably check out the Experience Hendrix tour in St. Louis. A lot of players on there I want to see.
Take care everyone
