2009. What a year.
This year found my life shaken from its roots, getting torn apart from the 2 persons I loved more than anything else in the world.
Struggling to restart my life in an uncertain economic climate, not really sure whether the job would still be there at week's end.
And to top it off, living in the most dangerous city in the world. Over 2600 murders don't lie.
But now that it's over, what do I have?? I am here in my new old home, blasting Pink Floyd and Norah Jones and loving it. My son still follows me every chance we get, sleepovers and shopping trips to El Paso and the like. I still have my job and it looks busier than ever. I have all of my friends and family sharing their happiness with me, and I have that special friend still by my side, reminding me that there is indeed a silver lining to every black cloud.
So yeah, 2009...what a year! Best wishes to everyone here for 2010, thanks for being here, love ya all!!!
JOE: Best wishes, continued success and lots of love for 2010.
Feliz aņo nuevo!!!

We're watching Travis Pastrana on ESPN at midnight. Sorry Dick. Travis is a crazy mofo! He's jumping 250 feet over water onto a barge. Longest rally car jump ever. Hope he makes it!
10 minutes!
Best wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy, prosperous, fun filled 2010! Love you all!!!
8 minutes!
274 feet - he made it! That rocked!

michelle - I walked down to the pier and watched it live...it was very cool to see in person! He cleared the gap with plenty of room to spare.
Happy New Year, east coasters!

About an hour till the New Year begins here and I had to watch "Made Of Tears" one last time for 2009 . Having a quiet New Years celebration , hubby not feeling well and already asleep. That's okay, I like the quiet I am feeling kinda reflective on the past decade, and looking forward to the next.Just listening to my favorite music and feeling a quiet peacefulness.
Everyone have a safe and fabulous New Year !

Austin, you were there!!! Jayzus, is there anything cool out there that you actually miss??!! I knew he was going to jump in the water. He was so jacked up on red bull, and with his adhd he was electric. LOL! Here's what we saw. I get goosebumps watching it again. lol! How cold was it? He's one twisted mofo! I pity his mom & his girlfriends. lol! That beats the hell out of watching a ball drop! We didn't even realize it was midnight until my son mentioned it. lol!

Haha...what's funny is my New Year's plans changed like two or three times yesterday. I didn't even decide to head down there to watch it until a few hours before it happened.
I've seen some video of the jump, but I was standing on the same side that most of the footage was shot from (with the jump happening left to right) so I can't really see myself. I was on the ground in front of the Gladstone's seafood restaurant...you can see that blue sign at about 5:55 in the video michelle posted.
It was a lot of fun being in that big crowd of people. And michelle, it wasn't cold at all...I was wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a hooded sweatshirt and was almost too hot. I'm sure the water was cold, but it was quite comfortable outside.
I love California...now I think I'm going to go run a few miles along the beach, because I can. What's the weather like on your side of the country? ;-)
...Austin...
