P. Lily, sorry to hear about your neighbors passing last week. How's yer dad doing? Did he have his surgery yet? Best wishes to him on this go round.
GG2, listening to Joe makes me wanna be a better person and in general makes me happy. Listening to Godsmack scratches that primal urge to pull stuff up from my toes and get it out. lol! I've always loved drums and Godsmack has amazing beats and rhythms, and Sully's voice is great. Joe - good boy. Sully - bad boy. Two completely different animals, but I love them both.
Good for times like this :-)
But also good for times like this

Michelle- Dad had surgery last week, surgery went ok they removed nine tumors from his arm that grew despite aprox. 20 days of radiation treatments. Can't do chemo because it will destroy his transplanted kidney..... The Doc's say the cancer will keep reappearing eventually will spread further in his system . He is in pain & grumpy & discouraged.
I hope he can heal up enough to do a couple things he wants to do before its too late...but you never know......
Its a good evening for Enya......so soothing. No Godsmack fer Peacelily tonight....maybe tomorrow.... lol....

hello all...
As a long enduring Satch fan it's been hard down here in the antipodean depths, knowing that the tyranny of distance prevents many artists from visiting our shores frequently...Joe, we need ya downunder dude - we have the grandaddy's make their call Clapton, Beck, Buddy Guy etc etc but we are starved of the "Fresh Gen's" who carry the mantle as the Grandaddy's grow old...Joe, come on down under, there's a dirth of fans down here who would support a tour and besides- the mantle has passed and it's time for you guys to shine where before the shadow hung like a pall through which you had to battle...Yourself, Steve Vai and others are wanted en masse...c'mon ..Australia is a warm welcoming place and we'd love to see ya..
cheers

Ummagumma - well he's been to Oz many times before but yes, we'd all dearly love another Joe fix, fingers crossed he can squeeze us in on the way home from Europe in October or maybe on the Chickenfoot 2 tour in 2011.
Peace - best wishes to your Dad, plenty of Joe is good in times like this, gives you courage.
M - thanks for the VH1 link, horribly frustating that it continually buffers for me (must sort that out) so I have to watch it stuttering through 5 words at a time arrgghh.

Let's see, what can we talk about? It's new music Tuesday, so why doesn't everyone list some of the CDs they've bought recently? It won't be a Satch-related conversation, but it'll be conversation. ;-)
My recent purchases:
John Butler Trio - April Uprising - I've talked about this band here before. They're a folksy roots-rock band from Australia that can also JAM. This album is taking longer for me to "get" fully, but I can tell already it's one of my favorites from the band. Check out Revolution, One Way Road, or Johnny's Gone.
Kaki King - Junior - She's a slap guitarist in the style of people like Michael Hedges or Andy McKee. You may have seen her Playing With Pink Noise video from a few years ago. This album is more of a "band" thing with vocals, but the deluxe edition comes with a bonus live DVD of a solo acoustic show two years ago.
What albums have other people here bought recently?
...Austin...

Do The Stu: Austin, the last CDs I purchased were Now 33 and Now Faith. I have Now That's What I Call Music CDs (a lot of them). They're not too bad, but sooner or later, I'm thinking of selling/pawning them as well as a lot of other CDs that I have. I will keep all of the CDs of Joe & Chickenfoot, as well as Maroon 5, whom I also like. I was debating on getting music from Vai, Petrucci/Dream Theater, Johnson, Hendrix, AC/DC, etc. Anything else that you suggest?
Axeshredderjc: Yes it is, Breyers is good ice cream. If not that, then I like to go for a Yoplait yogurt and they are really good. Over 20 different flavors and I eat it whenever I want. Let me know if you need any more suggestions man.
Congrats to my running friends for finishing the Boston Marathon. Next year, I'm planning on doing it, as well as Chicago, and possibly New York. Three big names/marathons; don't know if anyone did all three in one year. There's a goal right there for me.
Time to get ready for bed. Work at 5:30 A.M. at the restaurant. Afterwards, running group at 5:30 P.M. Later peeps. \m/
Joe: Safe journeys to you & everyone in Cabo this weekend. \m/

I got the new slash CD, it's pretty good, I am actually kind of disappointed with it though, but I'm a huge slash fan so I kind of expected something amazing, not just ok... But having different band memebrs in each sing gave the songs all their own style, and there are some decent riffs in there too.

Last CD I bought was Dark Side of the Moon a couple months back. Currently saving for all the summer concerts.
On a related note, is anyone considering attending the Roger Waters tour later this year? I 'm 50/50 on it.

Thanks Joe for all you do!
I recently purchased a Peavey JSX head and matching straight cab and a Vox Time Machine delay pedal. I'm so glad that you had an influence on the tonal implications of these products. I couldn't be happier! I plan on purchasing the Big Bad Wah and the Ice 9 soon... later will come the Satchurator. Thanks for providing the products that help us to achieve that soooo awesome tone!
