Seriously a lot of complaining going on about this bonus track stuff.
I bought Light Years Away on I tunes and the next day he started giving it away for free. I don't feel the need to complain because
IT ONLY COST ONE DOLLAR AND TWENTY NINE CENTS. Yes you paid extra money to get the CD autographed by Joe but to be honest
I have seen other Artists charge much more than that for a signed CD. I have to be honest, I like this album a lot and I wish I would have ordered the signed one instead so I could hang it on my wall and then I would just DL the bonus songs from Napster. I'm sure if I lift up my couch cushions there is more than enough change in there to pay the TWO DOLLARS AND FIFTY EIGHT CENTS to download the songs.
Joe works for a record company and the record company and the retail chains set this up with all this bonus stuff. They want to try and attract your business to their stores by having something a little different than the rest. Sony had the Autograph and Best Buy got the songs. Its jst the way things go.
If you really want to talk about getting screwed Smashing Pumkins made Zeitgest in 2007 and they had three different version of the album out on release day and each had a different bonus track on it. So if you wanted all three extra songs you had to buy three copies of the album. Before all was said and done I think they had at leat three more versions come out before the year ended, and the very last one happened to have all the bonus tracks plus even more bonus tracks.
In conclusion Joe Satriani is a Saint.

Finally back home from our NAPA trip ...what a drive...lol but sooo worth every mile. I don't even have words to describe my first JOE show experience .....my mind is still on a high ...I tell you, Joe puts everything he has into his shows..what adjective can I use to describe it? I can't think of one powerful enough to do the show justice....
It was awesome to meet Tracie and Chris, Austin , Brian & Debbie ...wonderful peeps all of you..... But EXTRA special thanks to Brian for the special gift he presented to me as we were leaving NAPA. He took some of his special JOE time and had a JOE sign a picture for me. I WAS SO THRILLED with my gift ..it was so unexpected I was jumping up and down with joy ....seriously . I am still glowing with happiness because of that thoughtful gesture. THANKYOU !!!!!
Made of Tears- I really enjoyed our time chatting before the show ...hope to be able to see you and chat some more in the future....
And thank you JOE.. for the special NAPA concert and also taking the time to sign that pic for Brian after the show !

Mahavishnu, class act! Way to be!
PL, That's what it's all about after all. Paying it forward. The best thing about having time with Joe is that sometimes you get to share the goodies :-) Very cool of Brian.
Al, the luni list is getting longer..
Thanks for the birthday wishes for my boy!
Civ, how ya been? I'm good. Both kids in college now. It's a whole new world up in here. lol! Loving the new cd. Lots of good music released over the last few weeks. Disturbed, Godsmack, Sully Erna, Satch, and the Bombastic Meatbats on the 19th... absolutely loving it all!
BadNomad, ha! Not a day over 25...in my head. The rest of me didn't get that memo. lol!

Great news. My daughter has been invited by the Arkansas Ambassadors to participate in a European concert tour. This is quite an honor . The membership is by invitation only. Students from around the state are chosen by their band and choir directors. The students do not know they have been nominated until they recieve a letter from the staff of directors. Students are evaluated based on charachter, maturity and musicianship.
The Ambassadors will tour with a choir and concert band and will perform several concerts at famous venues throughout Europe. The itenerary includes stops in England, France, Switzerland,Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy and Germany. Concerts will be performed at the Victoria Embankment and John Wesley's Chapel in London, The Luxembourg Gardens and St Severin's church in Paris, Crans Montana in Switzerland, Olympic Park in Seefeld Austria and the town Square in Rothenburg, Germany.
The school has started fund raisers to send the six students. Now it's up to me to make sure me or her mother can go.
So I have extra work to do between now and Nov. 14 which is the deadline for parent participants.
I am so exited and proud of her and the others who will make the trip. So I guess for me this is as exiting as an athletic minded parent to be chosen for a state all star team.
I only wish that my school would have had a music program when I was her age.
I am stoked to say the least.
Hope all is well. I trust all are enjoying the new Satch record. I keep up with most of you on FB when possible.
Best wishes all.

Joe, Are you using Drop D tuning on 'WORMHOLE WIZARDS'?
Your such a remarkable inspiration, having fun trying my hardest to play to your new tunes. I am determined to learn some of your songs, but I need lessons still.

Someone knocked my door last night. I opened. They were Black Swans followed by Wormhole Wizards. I let them in and offered place in my hi-fi. We are getting to know each other and having good conversations. It seems a lot of things were always exist around in the time space continuum but I just was not aware of them as they were not articulated in any tangible form. Now they all show up through Joe’s playing. Amazing and most important it certainly leaves footprint in my soul. Cannot say more – what is a point to discuss about brushes, paints or colors when the picture so much resonates with feelings…
