Wow.. took me a while to get thru back posts... how is everyone? Happy Birthday Chris! I'm still Bucketheading quite heavily, but I've found a whole new addiction that's consumed my soul... Porcupine Tree. Holy guacamole! These guys are absolutely amazing. I started out with Fear Of A Blank Planet and then moved on to Deadwing, I can't get enough. Now I'm on to their newest album The Incident. Brilliant stuff. Give 'em a listen.
I just had to include one more from Deadwing, Lazarus, quite possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
smooches,

Strat Highway gets a lower quality than Strat Standard. It's just ok. Can be good for a beginning.
If you are really looking for your own Strat tone, get a standard one. Here is the essential spirit of Fender Strat. A single coil polyvalent guitar built with two pieces of wood. Practice it.
You'll see with time what kind of modifications you'll need or not.
It's just my point.

Jeff Beck wrecks the tone's timeline. Genius.
Gilmour's tone has no specific chronological time. Genius.

When 2 in 10 on 6 explodes as 10 in 10 on 6, then is the Atomic Punk.

Stratoibanez... I have a JS2400, which does have different pickups than the 1200... but to my knowledge, the 2400 has a bit more meat to the pickups. Having said that, I recently bought a Les Paul (Slash Signature model) for a great price, and when it comes to meaty riffs and a bit more balls, without the kick-ass 'active pickup' sound, I prefer my Les Paul to the 2400. I do the rhythm tracks with the Les Paul, but my lead stuff with the 2400. The JS guitars are great solo type instruments, but the more crunchy stuff, in my opinion, needs to come from a humbucking guitar. Some Les Pauls are fitted with Alnico or Alnico II pickups... my guitar has the latter... and you can split the pickups for less 'oomph' if desired (more balls than a strat, but a thinner sound than full humbucking). Hope that helps.

Hello Joe,
To say my husband and 2 sons love your music is a massive understatement! They drag me from Dublin, Ohio to your shows in multiple states! We have a hand painted wall mural in our home with your music, a signed fender guitar in a case, signed posters, T-shirts and on and on. My husband Dean is turning 40 on Saturday, August 13th and we have a surprise party scheduled for him at 7PM at Tartan Fields Golf Club in Dublin Ohio. Approx. 125 guests. Can you please tell me if it is even possible in your schedule to come and play and how much it would cost me?!! This is a big year for us..... our 20th wedding anniversary and his 40th B-Day all at once! I want to do something really special for him and since you are his very, very favorite, I thought I'd start by begging you to come! He is a great, great man, a great father and husband and I just want to surprise him with something big!
Thank you and have a great week!

sup roy. i was poking around on your site yesterday. nice stuff. that 3 layer pick is interesting. good goawd man you am faster than a speeding bullet.
i am with you scuba, the jem IS the strat sound, only better. but i do like the js1200's sound. reminds me of an early firebird or les paul jr.
two shay, more FZ, "if you want to get laid, go to college, if you want an education go to the library."
ripping up the speakers with RANCID.

tikimon have you ever played a firebird ? or a jr ? they sound or play nothing like a js .. the js neck is an actual digitized versions of joe's favorite old strat . .. next scale lenght .. a 25.5 and a 24.75 sound different .. next mini buckers are very nasal and p90's well are mean single coils .. and sound nothing like a fred or paf joe or paf pro
next basswood and mahogany have different sounds ( i prefer basswood ,) .. the only thing the js series has in common with a gibson is 2 humbuckers . the js is different lighter wood , strat style neck profile , bass wood and trem ..
does a jem sound more stratty .. i can get decent strat tones out of my jem .. cant hang with a js cause its too much like a strat feel wise ..
sorry for the rant

Well, mates, after all, the Strat's dialog is cool. But it is not really a feel about it. No offense.
