DTS - "Dweezil's keys/sax player" = Scheila Gonzalez. She is absolutely amazing, plus a WICKED sense of humor!
Read all about her!
Al - I'll be doing my best to capture it, if everything works out I won't mind sharing with those less fortunate!
smooches,

Phydeaux_3, the info says the show starts at 8...my son, the genius, has figured out how to hook up the computer to my tv so we can watch it on a much larger screen than the computer monitor....we're EXCITED!!! And don't forget that Orianthi is also playing, we saw her play live as an opener for one of the Steve Vai tours and she was freakin' amazing! The whole show is gonna ROCK!!
Chris was also trying to figure out how to save, capture, record or something as a video, but that hasn't worked out so far. I really think they should be filming this to sell as a way to make even more monies for Cliff AND help out the fans who aren't able to attend or tune in. Even though we get to watch it streaming live, I'd buy a dvd of it in a heartbeat!
As to the auctions, Joe's guitar is up to $4,550 in the auction with just over 5 days to go, and Steve's guitar is at $12,600. And lets not forget Paul Gilbert's guitar at $1,825!
Some nice money right there!! Bid if you can!! I'd love to go for Joe's guitar, it's truly a one-of-a-kind and worth bunches, but the ole' pocketbook just can't accomodate right now....sigh. Hope someone who truly loves Joe ends up with it!
Austin, have a great time! What am I saying, I KNOW YOU WILL! I'da bought yer ticket so fast both our heads would spin, if I had a way to be in LA :) Hope you find a buyer, and please report back when it's over to give us the run-down of your impressions, k?
Alan, I hope you gave yer bus driver last night a big hug and kiss fer getting you home safely, lol! Is it good or bad that yer such a frequent (passed out) passenger that he knows where yer stop is? :D
HAVE FUN TONIGHT JOE!! WE LOVE YA!

Cuth - Not being funny, but are you saying that no matter how badly someone hurts you (one), as long as there is no physical element then it is not right to strike them, but if they are the slightest bit physical it is in order to hit them back?
Edit - Sorry Cuth, didn't spot your linky.

Phydeaux_3 (and everyone, I guess) - I think it's a safe bet that Steve's band will include Jeremy Colson, Bryan Beller, and Dave Weiner. As for the rest of the lineup...I think the violins from Steve's last tour are unlikely, but maybe we'll get Tony MacAlpine back in the keys/guitar spot? It might be cool to see Mike Keneally play guitar with Steve, since he's only playing keys with Joe. But I don't know how likely it is.
I expect most guests will appear on one song and maybe the jam, as that's how things were done last time. Bryan Beller is the bass player for Dethklok, though, so we'll have three members of that "band"...I'm not sure if that means anything.
I remember an interview with Steve saying Orianthi will likely just participate in the jam, and they probably won't do Highly Strung.
As for "surprise" guests, Mr. Big is in South America and Toto is in Europe so Paul Gilbert and Steve Lukather are out. Slash is in Europe as well.
I bet we get Michael Anthony and/or Chad Smith for something. Sammy would be a longshot (I doubt it...a full Chickenfoot appearance might draw attention away from the benefit).
I think Kenny Wayne Shepherd lives in LA now...maybe he's a possibility? And Eric Johnson has a gig tonight 30 miles from Hollywood. I don't know if the timing would work out for him to stop by though.
cheese101 - Can you do me a favor and try to keep track of the setlists/guests for everything? I brought pen and paper in 2006, but I'd rather just enjoy the show this time around. ;-)
Oh, and you would've seen Orianthi open for SV in 2007.
Does anyone else have any guest guesses?
...Austin...

Seems it's only exciting for the west coast - or anyone who doesn't have to get up for work Monday morning.
:-/
*sniff*
All for a good cause. Hopefully the rest of us will see it soon.

michelle - see now? That's the best part of being on the Vampire shift... I'm up all night every night anyways, so tonight will be as easy as pie.
cheese - I'm using CamStudio.. it needed a bit of "fixing" and tweaking but I think I've got it capturing audio AND video now, it works for uToob vids at least so the big test will be the actual webcast itself.

True self defense does not require acceptance of injury before taking defensive action.
Neutralization of a real and imminent threat (e.g. someone with a knife in his hand, within 21 feet of you, or so, and stating he is going to stab you/kill you) is justifiable cause for self defense with lethal force in the eyes of the law (usually, YMMV) and the ZAP.

But if someone acts with the intention to cause mental pain and distress without being physically threatening should they 'get away' with it? I don't believe they should. Personally, i think that as Kenny used to say "Round 'em up, put 'em in a field, and bomb the bastards!".

So I was at the Oakland airport this morning (11:00-ish) dropping my 11 year-old son off for his first solo-flight to visit his grandparents. We are making our way through the hampster-maze for security when all of a sudden Joe (& I believe Mick too) is headed straight at us!! Talk about surreal and caught off guard, ha! He smiled at me & I quickly (& low-key which I think he appreciated) introduced my son. He shook his hand and exchanged pleasantries and was his usual extremely cool self. That was weird and awesome all at the same time! My son & I later said that Joe's level of celebrity is perfect. He can go through an airport with very little attention and be a fairly normal person & enjoy the world. My son later wished that he had mentioned to Joe that "It's So Good" is his ringtone. He is flying on cloud nine right now. What a perfect chance encounter! You are the man Joe! - From a family who enjoys your music (& the way you go through life) immensely! Looking forward to seeing you in late September!

There is a simple solution to the whole flag burning deal. Pass a law of treason punishable by death. And then passionate American's wouldn't feel the need to get physical on some flag burning jerk! =)
BTW, what's the website that Joe's streaming from tonight? I must have missed it somewhere.

Hybes, Go here to sign up for tonight's webcast, there's a small fee to pay
Austin, I'll do my best but what do you wanna bet that *I* won't know the names of all the dang songs!! Hopefully Chrispie critter will help me, but he might not even know some of them!
Al Surfer, awesome!! Your son will remember that ALWAYS!!! And I agree with your feelings about Joe...when I found out who my son was "idolizing", I checked him out and found nothing but good things about how he conducts himself, presents himself and seems to live his life. And with our numerous opportunities to have met with Joe, my opinion has never changed...in fact, it's gotten better and better over time. We love him dearly!! Have fun at the show in September, wish we could there too, it's SUCH a fun day!!

Hey Joe!
Hope the benefit show for Cliff went well tonight! I can't wait to see you at the Ottawa Bluesfest in July, seeing you play live is something I will finally be able to cross off my bucket list. Next is to find a way to play or earn a lesson with you haha!
I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing what kind of pick ups you use for the Experience Hendrix Tour on your light/baby blue Ibanez?
I bought a Strat a little while ago and I'm looking to try out some new hardware.
Thanks for your time and your input! You have idea how much I appreciate it! :)
See you July 17th at the Bluesfest!! I'll definately be front row :)
