Do The Stu: If my memory serves me correctly, the picks Joe was throwing at the Seattle gig were actually Mikey's picks. I didn't get one myself, but the guy right next to me did, and we were both a little thrown off that Joe had just tossed a MA CF pick into the crowd. Maybe Joe is using a lighter pick with the heavier strings and dropped tuning and is just bumming them from Mikey to save money (rather than manufacturing a new JS CF pick), but I believe he has JS signature picks in all three gauges?? Oh, can't forget the Chrome Dome don't drop on your toe bicep busting super heavy pick!

That's a good innocent question I haven't seen since I've been reading posts here.
What's your favorite guitar pick?

I'm torn between two: the Planet Waves Sure Pick heavy (1.17mm), and the Snarling Dogs Brain Pick heavy (1mm).

Maybe the proceeds from the White Album are going towards a new JS CF pick... Or more likely funding for Sammy's new Cabo Wabo in Vegas!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is unhappy with the new release. I must say as soon as my "pre order" gets here I'm taking it back to Best Buy to get my $10 back. I sure as hell don't want two of these things laying around here! That will be a good down payment on It Might Get Loud, or Joe's new DVD!

Ian

lmao there was an attempted robery by 3 men at a jewelers there in dublin city centre

Three men have been arrested following an attempted armed robbery of a jewellery store in Dublin city centre.

It is understood that a gang, armed with a shotgun, tried to raid Dawson Jewellers on Dawson Street.

However, the owner of the store tackled the raiders, and in the struggle that ensued, one of the raiders was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. Advertisement

The scene has now been sealed off, and gardaí are investigating. Those in custody have been taken to Pearse St Garda Station for questioning.

The attempted robbery was spotted by a passerby as it was in progress on Dawson Street, and he ran after one of the raiders as he tried to escape.

He caught him and held him until the gardaí arrived.

A second raider was arrested by the gardaí as he was coming out of the jewellery shop trying to escape.

The third raider was injured in the struggle with the manager of the shop.

what douches, funny shit though, the owner took the gun off one of them and took the shells out and the injured one is in hospital with a fractured skull... bad day?

Austin DTS- I have a few of Joes Picks from Chickenfoot and they are all heavys. Congrats on catching any pick as its got to be the hardest thing to do at a show.....like catching a fly..lol..i didnt catch any of Joes at 3 shows but the package gave you each members pick.....and Ill confess to swiping one off Joes Amp at the Beacon...the first time there i was tempted but didnt...my facebook/twitter picure actually shows the theft...notice my closed hand and the picks next to it...lmao!...my third Joe pick came from another fan who wanted one that i actually caught...so i gave it to her (Sammy pick)...later she caught Joes and gave it to me...so...no drum sticks..lol ...btw.Sammy's and Mike's are Mediums

In the realm of picks, I prefer heavy...right now my fav is the Jim Dunlop 1mm nylon...very little slippage.

Hey Joe! Wanted to share with you a moment in time. You know how sometimes you're just going along with the everyday activities, then something catches your eye, ear, or something. Grabs your spirit, soul and energy. Well, other than when I married my wife and she gave birth to our children, musically there's been 3 times this has happened to me. 1st, when I was old enough to realize what my dad was playing and the sounds that were coming out of it. 2nd, when I was older (late 60s) I heard this screaming solo from a guy named Carlos Santana. 3rd, well it was you playing live many years ago. Caught me by surprise, thought you were another long hair wanna be rockstar til your guitar playing struck. Couldn't stop listening. Play on Joe, I'm still listening.

Roy - cool vids!! Is that you in the sexy kilt carrying the guitar case???

Glitzy - would love to see you run one day, I'm afraid I won't make this one though :>). I'd also love to see Chickenfoot, or a Joe show, or a G3, or another Davy Knowles show, (and have front row at each) and I'd love to see Axe and Pip play in person, and Roy, and so it goes. Somehow I will do that, just have to wait for the stars to align.

DCK: Happy belated b-day! GootahaveJoe: Watch out for the meds....they can be tougher on you than the problem. Tried the ice cream? I was to young to feed all those meds to when I had mine pulled. Plus, my next oldest bro had them out at the same time! DCK check the flickr page. flicker.com/photos/Ibanezplayer. Enjoy.
