Hello to you Mr. Stariani, When you told your football coach you were quitting to become a guitarist-and you did indeed- I do believe you picked up where Jimi Hendrix left off. All those years of Grammy nominations without winning an award spoke to one thing- awarding you one would be like admitting the competition ends here; for your abilities and talents far surpass the norm, (when you stand that far above the rest the Grammy board puts up notice- stay back 100 meters or deadly chords will be used :) It is nice to know you are nominated yes, but there is more honor in knowing you exist among the standards used to select winners each year. You have set all the critics down. You have mastered your dream and maintained your goals. You have given freely to those who aspire to be like you. You have expanded music and musicians alike. You have entertained and mesmerized millions. You have remained true to your occupation and field. You have been one of the most flexible, innovative and communicating guitarist to ever live. You ARE the most most self-actualizing guitarist I have ever heard. There is but one word for all of that- LEGEND. If you are ever touring close to this small island upon which I live on, I will swim to the main land and surely be counted among the millions. Thank you kindly for sharing your talents!! and thank you kindly for offering this site- you remain humble among the Stars! V/R Caroline

Hey Joe (ignore the song reference), I just came across a song called 'Hair' that you did with Stanley Clarke on Spotify. What's the story behind that? Just so happens that Stanley Clarke is one of my all time fav bass players, and so that's a perfect match there in that song for me! Love it... :)

Does anyone have volume knob problems with the JS100??? My brand new JS100s volume knob had crackly pots when I bought it from the music store so I had them spray it. then yesterday my volume knob stops working all together. it wont lower the volume at all now. I expected more from this guitar.

Igneousiceman, I talked to Joe in the chat back when that song came out. I told him I have the cd and I dig it. He said he hadn't heard the cd yet, and he didn't have it - Stanley didn't send (or give) him one. I had a good laugh, and I think my exact words were "Dude, go buy one!!" lol!

Hair - Stanley Clarke - featuring Joe Satriani

Shortly after the 2:00 minute mark Joe puts him magic mojo on it :-)

The money is on its way, so I'm beginning to look at amps.

I want a practice amp, nothing to perform in a live setting, but it does have to be loud enough to disturb my neighbors :) I'm also looking to buy a multi-effects pedal, the budget is not too big so I think I'll have to sacrifice the quality of a stand-alone pedal in order to get all the effects I want (wah and delay are the main ones, wah to play along with Satch and Petrucci and delay to figure out those Blues Saraceno songs I posted a while back)

Suggestions?? I went to the only music shop in Juarez last night and came across an interesting Behringer, similar to this one but with built-in effects. Too pricey though, so I may go with the one on the link. What do u guys and gals use for practicing at home?

Thx!

Great tune chelle, and I remember that conversation, that was sooo funny what u said to Joe, lol!!

I just dropped a 14 pound frozen turkey on my big toe....omg that HURT!!! And ffs, I'm so retarded of course I'd do something stoopid like that, geez!! But it'll be fine.

Meanwhile, thinking ahead to all the cooking and preparation to come...I am sooooooooooo thankful we don't have an empty chair at our Thanksgiving table this year and my dad is still here with us. We have much to be thankful for!

Chelle, good vibes and prayers for yer mum and pops, they just HAFTA be okay!!!

Joe, any words of wisdom for Chris on his JSX amp? He's gonna take it back to the shop next week since it's under warranty, we're hoping it's as deathcube already suggested and that maybe it's just needing new tubes. He sooo loves his amp but he's frantic to make sure it's okay. Every little pop and crackle makes him nervous!!

And....since yer vegan now....does this mean yer having a tofu turkey fer Thanksgiving?? If you do, can u tweet a pic of it? I'm sure with all the artistic skills u've got goin on in yer family, you can decorate up tofu to look like anything!! lol!!!

Happy Saturday peeps! And good luck to everyone who uploads a Chickenfoot video for the guitar contest, that's a schaweet prize!!

T-bones, we've had some good times with Joe & Webby in the chat in the past. We're going to the hospital to visit my pop after dinner. I talked to him at lunchtime. He's hanging in there and hopes he doesn't have to have surgery again. I told him that soon enough we can get a sharpie and draw street names on his road map belly. I'm just hoping it works itself out & he doesn't have to get cut. I'll get to hug up on me mum if she's there. We could both use some hugs. ~ Sorry about yer tootsie. That had to hurt! LOL! Some turkeys have a way of getting sweet revenge. lol!

Minimoog - check this link and scroll halfway down the page to see the control panel. The only thing thats changed is that the panel has been flipped so it's orientated correctly when the amp is behind you (i.e. so you can read it the right way up at gigs!).

It's actually a 30w amp but as it's all tube I'm assured it's more than loud enough for gigging with a band.

sorry if the posts are untimely been a few days since i could get to it!

webmaster; the new new Chickenfoot site is awesome!!!!! thanx for giving us someplace besides youtube to put all our stuff!

guitarmeister & cheese; cool you're getting the best advice from the best guitarist! i also had that problem with a marshall and i do take back the advice about dust in the input jack, when i thought about it some more it was dust getting in the control knobs. anyway i'm sure Joe will figure it out for ya!

axe; seen you posted your vids too! if you win and don't like that model you could always donate to a charity...... did i tell ya i'm a charitable organization lol. my wife already told me if we win i can only play it once before it goes in a glass case to be mounted on our signature wall. of course she didn't say how long that first time had to be so it might last for like a week or something!

Hey Joe; $15 for like what 3 days. i'll give you $30 for 1 day of lessons! just kidding, unless of course you're willing to do it!

peace; people do drift apart, don't feel guilty. plus the freindship thing works both ways.

good one zinc! i've said this before hope no one minds the repeat. 4 things sorely lacking in todays world. Truth, Kindness, Personal Responsibility and Common Sense!

well think i'm caught up have a great night and better Sunday people!

elpp: Time for new gear eh?? Sweet!! You know, for an amp like you're speaking of, I had a Line 6 Spider a few months ago. Overall, I didn't like it and returned it, but it was a good amp IMO. Musicians Friend is having a sale on the 15W Spider III (the Spder III's have been discontinued for the new Spider IV's). I personally used the 30 watt version with the FBV Express foot controller, which lets you select between presets and also has a wah/volume expression pedal.

For a little more money than the Spider III, there's the 15W Peavey Vypyr, which has a couple foot controller options as well, but I have never used the Vypyr.

For now, I am using a little 15W Fender Bullet Reverb, and it is built like a brick shithouse!! I have been spending a little here and there on pedals as I have some extra money. Got a DS-1, SD-1, and a Dunlop 535-Q Crybaby Wah. I have been wanting to get a bigger amp (30-75W) myself, which is why I bought the Spider III before, but the more I think about it, the more I think I should just go ahead and buy a good work horse amp. I have been looking at the Peavey ValveKing 100W w/ Matching Half Stack. Any body here have any experience with these? MF is offering them for $899 and free shipping right now. I should get off the computer now before I buy it!!

Hey Everyone!

I had a 5K (which is also my last Points Race) earlier today. Here's my result: 16th out of 198 overall; 2nd in the Age Division; Time: 19 minutes & 28 seconds. My next run will be this upcoming Thursday/Thanksgiving (a 4-Miler).

Joe: Hope you're doing well. Jury Duty, huh? I did that three years ago and it wasn't that bad; just doing my civic duty, like everyone else does.

Webmaster/Jon: Kudos to ya on the Chickenfoot site! What else is happening? Anything special coming up, besides the movie & the Chickenfoot guitar giveaway? Please keep us updated. Thank you.

Skippygirl: How's it going, and how's that running time for ya? That's actually my best time for this running event. I may not be able to post a video for that Chickenfoot guitar, but I'll always have that Christmas ornament (signed & doodled) by Joe. Maybe for Christmas, I'll ask for a computer because I don't have one right now. I chat with you all by my phone/Internet feed, or by using the computers at my apartment complex, or the libraries around here.

Zinc Master: Great stories from you. How's the running? I did my 1st Marathon last Saturday.

Alexandrecaetano: Great to hear from you.

GoldenGirl2: Hope you & Steve are doing well.

Peace Lily: Prayers to you. I'm going to a visitation tomorrow afternoon. One of my good friends/coworkers passed away. The cause was an aorta burst.

John4: Glad you're doing well. I do hope you get to see the Chickenfoot movie. There's two places here that I can see the movie. Luckily, one of them is in my area/town.

Igneousiceman: How's it going with you? I'm still running & working.

Cheese101: OUCH! Hope you didn't break that toe. Hope you, Chris, & the family have a good Thanksgiving.

Guitarmeister2005: Hope you get all those kinks fixed with your amp & equipment. You & the family have a good Thanksgiving.

Michelle: Hope you do the same; hope the family is doing well, and have a good Thanksgiving.

Caroline5765: Welcome to the forum. I would also praise you on your comments to Joe. What songs do you like from him? You're right, Joe is due for a Grammy, an American Music Award, or any award in music.

Talk with you all later. I have work tomorrow morning and afterwards the visitation. See ya!
