I like Joe's hours. Travel the world for a few months, play a lot of music, make some nice cash, and then get six to nine months off.

I agree chelle, I know he's hurting too....and my heart hurts for him as I know many others hurt for him too.
6 to 9 months off Austin? I'd be willing to bet that Joe's seldom taken more than a few weeks at a time off, given all he's involved in, between writing music, recording, touring, developing pedals, amps, straps, picks, guitars...and prolly working on putting together G3's as much as possible...charity work, interviews, photo sessions....lordy, I don't know if many of us would survive his "off" time :) I'd love to see him take some personal time right now...at a time like this, you need time to yourself or with close family and friends to get ya through. But we know in less than one month his dvd will drop, and then in less than 2 months he's right back out there touring with The Hendrix Experience. Don't know how he does it....he's amazing.
Love and hugs to ya Joe, try to take it easy fer as long as you can, you deserve it :)
Now...as to this proven headache remedy....who's going to volunteer to do the necessary research, eh? :D

Yeah, my comment was said with a bit of sarcasm and without a wink ;-) so it didn't come out quite right.
I know there's much more to it than what I said, and six to nine months "off" is really six to nine months "working at home"...but still, in its own way that's really cool too. Joe gives and does a lot, I'm not trying to minimalize that at all, but I guess it's just me searching for work now and thinking it'd be neat to do things his way for a while.

That's the 2002 webcast, from early in the tour...Amsterdam, I believe (ha!). Here is an old post of mine with more info.
I love those pants!
I Believe was in the set for the first show or three of the co-headlining tour Joe did with Dream Theater in the summer of 2002, but it was dropped by the time he played Concord (the show I saw). I don't think it came back for the "An Evening With..." dates he did later on, but I missed that tour so I'm not sure. Why was in the set for that...it stinks that I missed my favorite song, but the live arrangement doesn't include the end of the solo (my favorite part) so it's OK. ;-)
I have video of an SBM webcast saved somewhere...it might be on my old computer. I'm not sure if it's this webcast, or if there was another one in the US later in the tour.
I also remember seeing some rehearsal footage Jon shot that has the band singing funny lyrics like "I'm Habib" and "ham and cheese" instead of "I Believe."
Probably more than anyone wanted to know, huh? ;-)

Do The Stu-Thanks for the information on the web-cast. These performances happened before I was a fan so its all new news to this "anyone". I did poke around on line a wee bit and found a link that brought me back to Satriani.com to where I could watch the rehearsal footage. Didn't watch all of it, I'll go back to it when I have more time.
Gotta Have Joe- Losing a baby is a terrible tragedy to endure. You never really get over it , you just learn to go on. All the best to you I hope you can find some peace soon.
