Hi Joe, My name is Reiss Seymour, I am 12 years old and I am writing this e-mail to ask you for help in giving my guitar tutor, Gareth Meek, a big thank you. He has been teaching me to play the guitar for over two years now and I would like to give him something Special back in return for all his hard work. He is a very big fan of yours, so I was wondering if it isn’t too much trouble to ask for a small gift from you. He would really appreciate something signed by yourself like a CD, poster or a signed picture of you, but the main thing I want to do is pay him back for all the hard work he’s put into me. This would be the perfect thank you present that I could ever give him, and I would appreciate it if you could help me.

Yours faithfully,

Reiss Seymour

Something interesting about Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham Book

Green Eggs and Ham. Bennett Cerf, Dr. Seuss’ editor, bet him that he couldn’t write a book using 50 words or less. The Cat in the Hat was pretty simple, after all, and it used 225 words.

Not one to back down from a challenge, Mr. Geisel started writing and came up with Green Eggs and Ham – which uses exactly 50 words.

The 50 words, by the way, are: a, am, and, anywhere, are, be, boat, box, car, could, dark, do, eat, eggs, fox, goat, good, green, ham, here, house, I, if, in, let, like, may, me, mouse, not, on, or, rain, Sam, say, see, so, thank, that, the, them, there, they, train, tree, try, will, with, would, you.

10 Secret Menu Items

1. In-N-Out Burger’s “secret menu” isn’t so secret these days – in fact, they’ve posted it on their website. But in case you’re not in the habit of surfing fast food sites, here’s the skinny on the rather un-skinny items: ordering something “Animal Style” at In-N-Out means you’re going to get it with lettuce, tomato, a mustard-cooked beef patty, pickles, extra spread and grilled onions. “Protein Style” is a burger wrapped in a lettuce leaf instead of a bun. And you can get just about any combo of meat and cheese that you want if you order it like you’re ordering lumber: 3×3 gets you three beef patties and three slices of cheese, 4×4 gets you four of each, and so on.

2. If you’re at Starbucks and in need of just a little caffeine, don’t worry – there’s a tiny option for you. It’s the Short size, and they don’t advertise it. It’s like a little baby cup of coffee. It also comes in handy when you’re scrounging for change and don’t have enough for a tall… not that that has ever happened to me.

3. It’s a good thing we don’t have Jamba Juice here in Iowa, because I would be all over candy-based smoothies. Jamba Juice doesn’t officially list these on their in-store menus, but Mighty Foods assures us that the secret flavors exist. The ones they confirmed with the company’s headquarters include Strawberry Shortcake, White Gummy Bear, PB&J, Various flavors of Starbursts, Fruity Pebbles, Push-Up Pops, and Skittles. Other tantalizing flavors that are rumored to exist: Chocolate Gummi Bear, Apple Pie, Sourpatch Kid, Tootsie Roll, Chocolate-covered strawberries, and Now and Later.

4. Chipotle has a whole secret menu that is limited only by your imagination – they have a store policy that says that if they have the item available, they will make it for you. Things that have been tested include nachos, quesadillas, taco salads and single tacos. Some stores are testing out quesadillas as a regular menu item, however, so maybe someday soon you won’t need a super-secret handshake to order one.

5. If you’re at Wendy’s and you’re really hungry – like, three-patties-just-won’t-cut-it hungry – go ahead and order the Grand Slam, which is four patties stacked on a bun. It’s also known as the Meat Cube. Gross.

6. Several places, including McDonald’s and In-N-Out, will serve you the Neapolitan milkshake. It’s just what it sounds like – chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shakes layered in a cup. This gives me a great idea… I wonder if they would make me a mint-chocolate shake when they have the Shamrock Shake in March. Hmmm. (Picture from Flickr user Mrjoro.)

7. Feeling a little health-conscious at Popeye’s? If you are, you really should have gone somewhere else. But there’s a little hope for you – ordering “naked chicken” will get you breading-free poultry. The word is that this is on the menu at some Popeye’s, but not all of them, although it is an option at all of them.

8. Like Chipotle, Taco Bell will make you just about anything within reason as long as they have the ingredients for it. Since most of the food at Taco Bell is made out of the same basic items, that means you can probably ask for most discontinued items and get them. One “secret,” though, is that they have a not-advertised green chili sauce at most locations, and apparently it’s excellent.

9. Some Subways will still make you the popular pizza sub from the ‘90s. Once the chain decided to make their focus healthy eating, the pizza sub disappeared from the menu in most places (the word is that Canadian and Mexican Subways still offer them on a regular basis). But if you ask, lots of places will still make it for you. Be warned, though – Jared would not approve of the nine slices of pepperoni and copious amounts of cheese slathered in marinara sauce.

10. This one might be my favorite. At Fatburger, you can order a Hypocrite – a veggie burger topped with crispy strips of bacon.

If anyone has any doubts about the validity of Zinc Master's post, the Subway restaurants here in Juarez (Mexico) do offer the pizza sub as a regular menu item. I'll take a pic the next time I hit one (which may be in minutes, as I haven't eaten yet and there's one within walking distance)

Why did u have to bring up Chipotle dude?? Now I'm totally craving one, and the nearest restaurant is 4 hours away!!! I'd kill for a Chipotle franchise in El Paso. Never gonna happen though, city's too poor to sustain a restaurant that sells $6 burritos no matter how extremely tasty they are :(

I have one question...every once in a while....with or without the guitar plugged in....it makes a rustling scratching noise...with an occasional pop or two.... i cant figure it out ...even with nothing plugged into it... and on the clean ch...with no gain going... If i very gently tap on the head...or knock on it very lightly.. the sound goes away...but returns later... if anyone could help me figure this out...it would be much appreciated.. thanks

Hi Chad...I'm still around and doing okay, thanks for asking...how are YOU??? And lil Loganberry? etc?

Skippy, yer welcome, we wanna see the foot in Aussie too, we can't hog them all to ourselves over here :) As to Chris and his roof, whelp...that's fer THEM to figger out and negotiate with him, LOL! Momma's outta that part of things :)

But he did tell me today that he's got a band audition in a little over a week now....woo woo! And Don, I think I'm gonna need a reeeheeeeally long lasso to bring him back down from the clouds sooner or later, LOL!!

Thanks for the interview links axe and peace lily, always love seein the guys any chance we get!!

Mystical Robot, Chip...Happy Birthday tomorrow! U think 20 years went by fast, wait till yer much older...the years really fly by and you wonder where they went!! Along with wondering if yer brains are ever gonna come back home, lol!!

Cube, good suggestion except...it's a brand new amp ffs....he shouldn't hafta change them YET should he? Although, this amp did sit in the music store for well over a year before Chris bought it....would that make a difference? I told him what you said and he texted me back and said....guess he'd better start a "tube" fund sooner rather than later! sigh.....it's always something!!

Stayed home today, feeling pretty punk, blurry vision, headache, backache, just bleah.....gotta go to work tomorrow even if I'm still yucked up.

Have a good evening all!

Man I'm sore! Played a masters cup on the weekend, short halves, but very hot, and 6 games over the two days.

Scored a cracker running full pelt down the right wing, took the ball on the outside of my right foot in full stride, wad being hounded by defence trying to stay level to cut out the cross, glanced up and saw the goalie a bit to far out and closer to the bear post so I smashed it to the far post from well outside the box. Perfect placement and the goalie had no chance. Top left corner and buried in the net. The only thing I forgot to do was pull my shirt over my face as I ran around like a demented airplane! LOL! haven't really got any abs to get away with that! (actually, I've got too many abs - if you get what I mean)... Hahaha

Love it when things like that happen and you can sit back and smile - that was a lot of fun.

We made the grand final (in a minor division) - but lost 3-1.

cube, I can only hope yer right and it's just the tubes...but to replace them would cost us about $200 so that's not cheap. And if it's not the tubes, then something else is wrong which means probably sending it off to Peavey and a very long wait to ever get it back. That's really really hard on Chris. Sucks that this would happen to him after he's worked so hard to be able to buy this, and it's been his dream since Joe first introduced this amp to own one of his own.

My stomach hurts...Chris's stomach hurts.... :(((((((

Happy early b-day Mystical Robot!

Don, I'll trade u my defense for Welker anytime...go tell Bill please :D I guess from a Patriots fan's perspective it was a tough game to watch but I still stand by my comment (revenge), specially now that Denver and Pittsburgh are losing ground. Cincinnati is looking very scary though.

And of course the Bears will get beat up twice by the Vikes and will be watching the playoffs at home as it is so sadly usual. Hopefully management will go out of their way to get a couple more decent linebackers and stop relying on Urlacher. Some WR's wouldn't hurt...

Satriiani: Please do not post so many cool videos at once!! jaja just joking, I did spend over 30 minutes going thru all of them. Thx for sharing!

Heck, even Wolfie is getting chicks now...good thing she picked him up after his bout with fiber lol!
