Zen:Understanding science at least partially has been a lifelong hobby of mine in a bid too kill my ignorance..of course, its a fractal like music like women it,s not meant to be understood...doh
Two Shay:Sup Cappy..yea tongue in cheek of course although the Townsend Brown effect might stop you getting spread jam like by G force?¿ solutions are there but like most cutting edge science it ends up in the wrong hands

On Japan :(
The worst case scenario i think we all know is meltdown and i really think in light of the recent news we best prepare for that news becoming reality.if one reactor goes theres a high possibility the others will as well thats 4 reactors from that one plant alone=4 chernobyle,s!! ...cant begin to think about the consequences, there are 55 operating reactors in Japan alone, whos going t control them if shit hits the fan? :S, this is a global problem, Hawaii, Canada and the west US coast would be first in line for a nasty surprise, although on that kind of scale noone on our lil blue ball would get off the hook
Japan's nuclear safety agency has said there is "no possibility" of a Chernobyl-style disaster at the Fukushima 1 plant, local media quotes national strategy minister Koichiro Genba as saying....
EH... what a Fuck-Knuckle of course theres a possibility! jaysus
....on the other hand....Always Look On The Bright Side of Life

JOE: this is the official message from former CPHS teachers. - Betsy Tomic btomic@quavant.com
This month we are hoping many of you will contribute to the WILLIAM WESTCOTT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP to honor Mr. Westcott whom we remember as an exceptionally talented choral director and music theory teacher. If 100 of us gave a respectable donation of $10-$25, we would be able to award a scholarship of $1000 or more to a graduating CPHS senior. Please join us by making a check payable to "CARLE PLACE SCHOOL DISTRICT," marking "Wm. Westcott Memorial Scholarship" on the memo line, and mailing it to Neil Connolly, Principal, Carle Place High School, 168 Cherry Lane, Carle Place, NY 11514. Mr. Connolly will send you an acknowledgement. Thank you for your contributions!
--Mr. Pantina, Ms. Sapelli, and Ms. Marques.

Not sure how many remembers the SCTV skit on Vikings and Beekeepers (with the Wagner 'Ride of the Valkyries' theme). I wrote (improvised) a piece with that melody. I was hacking around and starting doing riffs that sounded like Valkyries, and then just added to it.

Order & civility - we have a lot to learn from the Japanese people. Some of us act like animals in a crisis.
Looting, rape, murder, and thug activity in general. Day 4 and we haven't heard one episode on the news of any of it in Japan. They wait patiently in lines. When supplies run out, they expect it and try their luck at another place. They're more afraid they they've ever been in their lives. Family members are missing or dead. Devastation beyond belief. The unknown is crippling, and yet...order and civility. We have so much to learn from the Japanese people.

Japan PM: Radiation leaking from damaged plant
Kan urges people within 30 kilometers of Fukushima Dai-ichi to stay indoors
I dare say that is definitely a "significant" risk to human health....
Michelle- I am certain I would not be so dignified in their situation.......remarkable really....

I hope Bryan Adams' idea for a concert for Japan comes to life Joe.
These people need all the help they can get. The news is not getting better at all. The people are a model to all. We've heard of Aussie tourists who were in a hotel in Tokyo and didn't know what to do when the quake hit. Total strangers deferred going home to their own families so that they could take the tourists to the right train station to try to get to the airport. Amazing.
