Hey Stoopid
:) Joe shows up at 3:15 on the vid....you still have that leather jacket, right Joe?
I saw that Joe is going to be on a radio broadcast tomorrow morning at 9:15 I think it was to talk about the Jason Becker concert this Saturday...it had a link to listen online....I think I saw it on facebook but now can't find it, damnabbit...I'll keep looking...
Pip, we're both excited, it's always great to get out of town now and then and go do something fun, especially when it includes Joe :) So we're equal on that I think...Chris also wants to visit a vinyl record store on Market St while we're there, so I'm sure we'll pop in and find some treasures. He's especially looking for old blues and jazz records.
Edit: Ahhh, there it is, from Guitar Player Magazine:
Guitar Player Magazine

The book signing yesterday went really smoothly...I got there earlier than I probably needed to, but I got my autograph and was outside fifteen minutes after it started.
Aaand I was one of the winners for Sammy's Twitter shirt/poster contest, with this picture. I love the contest shirt ("I RED the book")...I think it's hilarious, but I'm a bit weird.
cheese101 - It doesn't look like I'll be able to make it to the Slim's show. Will this be your first show at Slim's? I hope you have a great time...please say hello to the pole for me (you'll know it when you see it).

Haha...thanks. ;-)

Yes Austin, it's our first Slim's show....pole? Pole? Hmmmm....got any hints or tips as to where we should head once we get in? From what I've gathered, it's GA seating....so there's no GA standing near the stage, would that be right?? Sigh....not sure what time we'll be in line...wonder if the crowd gets big outside long before the show...

cheese101 - I've only been to Slim's once...I saw the Dixie Dregs there with MegaBoyd back in 2003 and had a great time. That show was GA standing.
I just looked at the Slim's website, and on the ticketing page it says "seating limited"...I wonder if that means it's limited in the same way it is at the Fillmore (primarily a GA venue with seating at the back/sides).
My guess would be today Slim's is still GA standing in front of the stage with limited seating elsewhere. People who want to guarantee a seat will need to buy a dinner ticket. Otherwise tables are on a first-come basis. I know I haven't been there in a while but I don't see how they could pull off a fully seated show...that wouldn't work unless they've undergone a recent renovation, as the venue is basically a large bar that holds maybe 500 people.
Have you tried calling them? I see contact info here. That page also has some info that seems to back up the GA standing format.
As far as the line goes, the venue is smaller/less popular than the Fillmore/Warfield so I don't think you need to be there before noon like we've done for those shows in the past. But the stage is smaller and not as high off the ground, so you will need to be there early enough so you and Chris can see. If I were you I'd plan on stopping by between noon and 2 to check things out. There probably won't be a line yet, which means you could get a late lunch somewhere nearby and still be at the front.
Sorry for writing a novel, but hey...you asked! ;-)

Well we found out the line up for the 4-day Live Loud n Local music festival we are playing at the end of April. We are playing the first day with all local groups. Bummed we don't get to play with the big bands (In This Moment, Sister Sin, and Straight Line Stitch) But since it will be only our 4th gig I'm pretty happy. If any of the peeps in or around Portland need tix let me know. 4 days of bands for 12 bucks is a great price. BTW Happy belated Cheese.

Joe, Retired Navy air traffic controller here. In the high desert of Nevada, Goldfield to be exact. Would you or have you ever considered a small benefit concert. Our annual Goldfield days happens the 3rd weekend of August each year. If it helps, it's about halway between Vegas and Reno on highway 95. We can put you up for a night or two and feed you. Many veterans in the area and all very familiar with your works and talent. Just thought I'd ask... Please keep the fires burning and making me happy with your music. Dave B
PS Tried to make Slim's in SF, but they were sold out...

roxyone, the tab book for BSAWW is coming out on March 30th here in the states. I found a link at amazon.com to pre-order it, I bet you can order it there also :)
I like what Joe said about Jason Becker this morning. He is indeed a special young man. Looking forward to the entire benefit show and some great guitar playing...I hope Jason is able to make it.
Thanks Austin, for the info...we'll try to get in line early then, but hafta hit that vinyl record store first plus we're driving down that morning. Guess we'll leave at 6 am. I see a loooooooong weekend ahead =|

Just got back from seeing a killer Joe Bonamassa show! My ears are hissing. It was LOUD, but the sound was absolutely perfect! There's not a gad damn thing that's cool about the guy, but he can play guitar like a mofo! He rocked! The band was killer too! I'm always torn between watching the drummer & the guitarist. We had great balcony seats, so it was kinda easier to see the whole picture. Fun night!
Makes me reeeeally wanna see my Joe again. lol! He oozes cool :-)
JOE, Bonamassa had mouse pads & license plates and all sorts of swag for sale. Get on that, would ya! lol!
