Donkey, what went through your mind when you put a 17 year old kid who's done nothing to no one and is just trying to live out his dream in a positive way (which is more than most people are doing on this planet) in a post with Saddam Hussein & Osama Bin Laden? Bad "joke" son, bad joke. Would you like somebody putting YOUR kid on a list like that?
slan, nice vid. Glad to see they didn't haul him in and some police actually seemed to enjoy it.
Civ, glad you had a great night and had some fun!
Randell, man, yer bro's got it going on! Best wishes to him for a healthy recovery.
Mikey, Joe looking like Tiny Tim? lmao!! That's pretty funny! Now I gotta go back and watch the vid.
Time to get rockin' with some favs on Grooveshark. I'm in the mood for something mellow...
well...maybe after this... lol!
WOO!!! Get the house bouncin'!
:-)

to all those anxious for the presale info/code for the Benefit For Cliff II show with steve vai & friends, just a quick update--- the ticketmaster page that was supposed to be ready by 10am this morning still hasn't come through.
as soon as we get the info that it's up, we'll get it up on the road page!
update: the link is correct, just not live. the password will be CLIFF and ticketmaster says it will be live "between 12:30 and 2pm", so best bet is to just keep checking back starting then.

Hey Joe! I don't want to sound like an ass, but I have to be honest with ya - I really wasn't that impressed with the first Chickenfoot album.
My brother and I (both musicians) were really looking forward to it, and the "teasers" we heard were pretty good. After all, you put all you guys together - each pretty incredible in their own right - and you would expect something phenomenal, right?
Wellllll, we just kinda think it missed the mark. Almost as if, on each song (I'm being a bit general here), each of you is trying too hard to carry the song. Or, perhaps each of you are playing things because you feel that you MUST play something just because you can.
New album coming out... great! I can't wait to hear it, but I may not rush out right away. Perhaps with new material, let the music shine - each of your talents will certainly follow. I want to hear what each of you can do - just not all at once where it takes away from the music itself, or seems as if you are each trying to upstage the other. After all, we're all musicians first, right?
Ok, just my thoughts and I don't want it to sound as if I don't respect what is being done... I DO! Nobody can touch you on guitar... well, maybe Steve (wink-wink)... but lightning fingers are only a small part of being a great guitarist AND a great musician.
So, I am basically saying that I want to hear Chickenfoot. Not a solo project that features Joe, Sammy, Michael, and Chad. Remember: Led Zeppelin didn't write guitar tracks just because they had a guitarist - they wrote a song that needed a guitar track and they just happened to have Jimmy Page on their payroll...
On that note, I look forward to hearing whatever comes next and look forward to the day we meet!
Rock on!

castle, i think the CF music is amazing, but the lyrics...*sigh* My Kinda Girl being one of the worst. Sammy needs to take more time with writing or something. Like I said, the music is fantastic.
Diddle-Y-A-Doo-Dat has better lyrics.
...exactly! LOL!

Just a random thought ...last night I was listening to music on my
i-pod on auto-shuffle...Red Shift Riders played ..i was so blown away by that song.. It was almost like hearing it for the first time. Weird... anyone ever have that happen? I mean notice things about a song you never noticed before even though you have listened to it many times before .......

Peace- I have that happen EVERY time. It is amazing how his music does that, and every time, I have new feelings
I personally actually liked the song lyrics for the Chickenfoot CD... I would LOVE to have the Learning to Fall backing tracks though because I absolutly LOVE Joes playing in that...

I'm interested to see how many times on Chickenfoot II Sammy can use the word "dirty" in the lyrics. Think it appears at least 3 times on Chickenfoot I.
Its our turn for a tour Joe!!
Currently have Hands In The Air by Joe Satriani paused. Posted using Talk2Joe - one of Roo's iPhone apps

Peace, I think it's a headphone thing? I can listen to music on my computer, home system, or in the car, but when I plug it in my ears it becomes sooo much better. I can hear all the nuances I miss hearing it in a bigger space. It happens with a lot of Joe tunes, but lately the one that always stops me in my tracks is DK&BDS Saving Myself. The tone of his guitar and his voice are so perfect. So many of Joe's songs make my chin drop as well, but that DK song literally makes me stop whatever I'm doing and just listen.

michelle: At around the 1:44 mark you will see Joe, lmao! Btw, that clip from Marianne was deep.... And I know what you mean about DK, and was wondering what you thought of Richie Kotzen in that context, and here's the album version.... This video is cool cause his daughter, Dad and g/f Brie from WWF are in it. (daughter in the red shirt/glasses and Dad on the flag pillow towards the end) He's a great singer, writer and player.....
Great to see Jon Luini yamboy still ROCKS! :-)

Hi Joe,
I'm in New Orleans and we are currently in Jazzfest with many great artists that come here to play. I would appreciate if you would consider playing at this venue in the future. They have over 160,000 in attendance. The weather is magnificent this time of the year and the food is amazing.
I saw you at the House of Blues in New Orleans but the smoke was so bad that I missed some of the show just to get fresh air. (I don't know how you manage with so many shows.)
Anyway, the website is www.nojazzfest.com and the producer is Quint Davis. I'm not affiliated, just an attendee, but always thought it would be great to see you play there.
Best regards.

I thought the first CF record kicked ass! IMO it was WAY better than BCC's first release; those guys really lowered my expectation of the second album with that one.
I don't look at lyrics for any meaning in a song anyway, just whether or not they go along with the music, and Sammy writes musical lyrics as far as I'm concerned. If that makes any sense.
Peace Lily- Did you have any luck with what I sent??
