I think the dropped tuning fits everything just fine EXCEPT for Flying in a Blue Dream. That song just needs to be played in standard tuning. But, then again, it's a different way to listen to the song I guess.
If there are any AC/DC fans out there, they have a new DVD out- Live at River Plate (Buenos Aires). Has their fairly standard live track list, plus 4 songs from Black Ice. I've gathered the audio from it into 320k mp3's if anyone is interested in having a listen. The old stuff is pretty standard, but the new album material is worth a listen. Hell, it's probably on youtube anyway.

Ovation1:T2Jers: Bob is doing better with thanks for all who sent well wishes for him. The docs have decided that he is only going to have a partial leg amputation. Ok. Thought but not as bad as we thought. More cirulation than previously eluded to. Now he will need a deep boot type prostetic. Health is getting better and the worst has been avoided! Thanks for all the "CHI."

Just saw a Joe signed JS1000 guitar on ebay, which can be bought for a bit over $600. Ideal for any fans out there wanting to get a JS guitar, since this price is cheaper than new AND it's signed.

I just stop chewing my waffles mid chew and stared at the computer like...NO! This can't be!...I just read that this year is the 30th anniversary of Blizzard of Ozz in the US. THIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTY YEARS! Thirty!!! I have so many great memories wrapped around that cd...er...8-track. lmao!! Amazing to think 30 yrs have gone by, and that cd still kicks ass. So much great music from that time! Satriani, Van Halen, AC/DC, Scorpions... Music is the sound track of life!
Civ, LoNero came across twitter and said it sounded like Joe Satriani, so I posted it. I don't really know the band, but thought they were good to share on here. Cool you know them!
My hubs just bought a Pete Thorn cd. WOW! I really like it! I'm listening to it for the first time. I'm on track 7 and I've liked it all so far. He was Melissa Ethridge's guitar player. The cd comes with a free guitar lesson if you buy it by the end of THIS month. Go to Peter Thorn . com and check him out. Here's his youtube channel to have a listen. I'm really impressed! The entire cd is instrumental. Really good!
Al, another priceless Al-ism "took 3 hrs to get home, shuda stayed for the shizzle was only a block away from the shindiggary! "
Glitz, Loki is doing great. I think the only thing growing on him are his claws & teeth. lol!
Randell, best wishes for your brother & family.
Deb, as always, best to yer dad.
Chee-tos, hang in there baby! Save some of that beautiful light of yers for yerself! I hear a bubble bath & headphones calling yer name tonight. lol! I'll do my best to get a good buzz in yer honor with whatever I decide to drink tonight. lol!
Absolutely gorgeous day out today. Time to get me bumzie moving into the sun! Have a great day peeps!

Chelle, thanks honey, I'll try but so many demands, so little time...however...the extra bedroom is now...EMPTY!! So there, lol! I'm thinking about how to fix things up around here a little at a time, some painting, a few repairs, making a guest room...yer coming obber when it's done, right? :) Bring Al and the massive one and we'll partay, lol! And you know I love me a good bubble bath....one of these days....
Enjoy yer beautiful day there!
Chris and I watched two Chickenfoot vids again this morning..."Oh Yeah" and "Soap on a Rope".....those were just kick ass FUN!! I hadn't forgotten, but I'd "forgotten" how great it is to feel the Foot energy! If that makes any sense at all, LOL! I can hardly wait for the new album to come out!!
It's the end of May and weather for today....rain mixed with SNOW and chance of thunderstorms later! GEEZ! Coldest and wettest spring we've had here in quite a few years, don't dare plant anything yet!
Wish I'd saved enough pennies to go see the Cliff benefit show part 2....looks like it'll be a great evening! Happy long weekend everyone!
Joe, whatchoo up to??

michelle - BBunny, congrats on the kitties! Nice names too! When I hear the name Ziggy, I think of this Ziggy and this Ziggy, but when I hear the name Loki, I think of my baby! Yer boys are cuties
thankyou ^_^ my boys are girls ;) yes, Ziggy is named after Bowie's character (i love BOWIE) and Loki is named after the norse god because she is so mischievious!! (sp?)
you have a Loki too >=:) that's great... he get into trouble too?
Skippygirl - BigBunny - hear, hear, sister. You got my mouth watering too, I do so love a nice red and Aussie cheese.
Next time Joe's here I hope he tries a nice T'Gallant or a Heathcote, very nice.
Skippygirl, i haven't heard of the 2 wines you have mentioned. are they over the $15 mark cause i don't pay more then that >=;P in fact i make it my business to get great aussie reds for 10 bucks!
have you heard of Fishbone from Nannup? probably my fav. red. just picked up 4 bottles today, 10 bucks each. 2 for $20 you see. but it should sell for $14. there's no need to spend alot of $$$ for a good red \m/^_^\m/ Fishbone Wines
the aussie reds i buy: Fishbone, McGuigans, Peter Lehmann, Saltram, Yalumba Y Series (< it's really not that bad), The Stump Jump by d'Arenburg.

Oy, what a day!
Me lil' mum is in the hospital again. She's a tough ol' bird, but it never hurts to ask for prayers for Vivvy. She has congestive heart disease and a host of other things, and has filled up with fluid again. Hopefully they can get rid of a lot of the fluid and by the grace of God she'll be good to go in a few days. Thanks in advance for everyone who sends a prayer or a healing thought.

Went to see me lil' mum in the hospital. I made her laugh a few times, and she was really happy for the company. I sat on her bed and laid my head across her chest to give her a goodbye hug. On one of the wires that was attached to her heart monitor or whatever it was she was hooked up to, I saw the letters AWM. I showed it to her, and told her there is a Joe Satriani song called Always With Me, Always With You, and I told her she'd always be with me, and I'd always be with her, and I put my head back down on her chest. Then she told me not to push any of the buttons on the heart monitor that was in her nightgown chest pocket. I lifted the sheet and told her it was safe... under her arm with her boobie. lmao!
I love me mum!

Hi Everyone, and 400 posts!
Ran the Hare & Hounds XC 5K. I finished with a time of 19 minutes and 26 seconds. I was 12th in my age division, and 40th overall out of about 200 participants. It was a tough race: course was mostly grass and gravel, had headwinds, jumped over hay bales (steeplechase style), and it was muddy. A lot of the runners were high school, college, and post colleague runners, so I had many challenges for that run. Next Saturday, I'll be in South Bend, IN, and I'm running the marathon for Sunburst Races.
Ibanezplyr: Prayers are for you and your brother. I hope things are going well for the both of you.
Ovation1: Thanks for the encouragement. I try not let my current job get the best of me, and be taken for granted. I'm just glad I have the hours to work.
Michelle: Lol, I hear ya there on Loki. My folks and I went through that ordeal with our cats. A while back, we also had other strays coming up to the house and we fed them; can't see them starve. Give Loki a little love for me. Hope your Mom is doing better; she surely is a strong fighter.
Peace Lily: Hope you, Ten, and everyone are doing well.
Hope everyone is doing well; later peeps.
Grant

Hi, Sorry if this has already been discussed at length (I just registered): Does anyone know when the next G3 tour is scheduled for (if at all)? Also, is there any chance Buckethead could be invited to play with Joe and Steve Vai? That would be awesome

Any Kansas City people up in here? Buckethead is playing the Beaumont club on Tuesday... I'm flying in for it! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! This will be the 2nd show of the tour, the 1st was on Friday at the Bella Sol fest. Rumor has it that he played Lurker At The Threshold!
I'll be wearing a TONKA shirt so say Hi! if you see me! Don't miss this show if you're near enough!

Hi Joe;
Im new to the site.Your the reason i started playing guitar and you still contine to inspire me.I was in a band "Purgedross" and then i moved and got married.Since then ive become a father and am unable to record any music now because lack of time.I still play guitar which is fun but i dont have quite enough time to write or even record practiced material.I believe some of the music that i wrote with the help of my brother is good stuff on an Amature level.Anyways i believe some of the stuff could be useful to you.Is there anyways that i could send you some of the stuff to let you hear it and see if you could use it.The songs are not copy written and im asking for nothing in return. If you wanted to use any of the stuff id be honored. You gave me the passion for guitar and i hope in some way im returning the favor.Whatever your decison good luck and God bless.
