Hey Joe,
I've been using your method that you featured in '87 issue of Guitar Magazine : Finding the Note. I set the Metronome to 60 bpm, and then find the notes on all the strings. I'm doing this to learn the fretboard as best I can because I've read in many guitar books that I am supposed to be able to visualize the notes on the fret board. So I take my guitar and actually look at the fret board, and I haven't mastered the method mentioned previously, but I still am not seeing the fretboard like I assume I should. Is there any other tips to learning the fretboard, or do I just keep exercising and it will come to me later? I guess maybe I'm expecting the notes to just show themselves, and perhaps that is the wrong idea.

Hi Joe,
If I may, I would like to talk about 2 songs on the first Chickenfoot album. The first is 'Oh Yeah', which is, from my point of view, an average song. Feels like any band could have written that song - from Quiet Riot to Motley Crue.
On the other hand we have 'Future in the Past', which is an unique classic rock piece. Starts with a ballad, then jump to a RHCP groove and finally blasts into a ballistic hard rockin' sound. It kills me every time I hear it. Only CHICKENFOOT can do such a beautiful song like that
So, from my standpoint, you can drop 'Oh Yeah' in the setlist without looking back, but never stop playing 'Future in the Past'.
All the best from the 'Foot soldiers in Brasil (we are waiting for ya)

Hi Joe;
We are working on a 2010 Woodstock Re-Union and would like to know if you and the boy's are interested. We have a number og groups who have already expressed their interest. The Show will be in WOODSTOCK, Ontario Canada. Just a nice little twist to the original Woodstock in New York. Let me know what your thinks about joining our mission to bring the Classics back to the stage.

LOOOVE that whole "Joe Satriani" album indeed..so much great blues riffs on it..but then again alot of his songs are very blues derived..Joe is very gifted musically..I just wonder alot if he thinks he has more room explore and expand his playing? or if he thinks his playing skills are where he wants them? It would scare me if he thought he could play better than he does..yknow? Happy Monday all..!! EDIT Poster is badd ass..check Ebay thats where I got most of mine..!!
