first listen through to Unstoppable on MSN! wow, as someone else above mentioned, a LOT to digest!...To my ears, sounds like a pretty large soundscape but so far I'm liking that the overall higher, sweeter guitar tones are classic Joe, but filtered with new effects that sound a bit more rounded overall... I've only listened once so maybe this will change, but some of the compositions seem to wander a bit and lost me. Maybe the hooks will become more evident as I listen more.
So first listen impression is UM's got a cool upbeat vibe and promise!...

Wow...I've only listened once, but I really LOVE this album.
It's a great mix of Joe's older and newer styles, and I think everything meshes really well. I also love how creative the first 15-30 seconds of each song are...they really hook you.
Unstoppable Momentum and Can't Go Back just hit you with everything at the start...I love that energy.
Lies And Truths and Three Sheets To The Wind are both really different for Satch. LAT almost sounds like a Steve Vai song to me, and I TSTTW is in the "out there" (in a good way) category like Woodstock Jam and Killer Bee Bop.
I'll Put A Stone In Your Cairn will probably end up being one of my favorites on the album, which is impressive because it's on the shorter side.
I've already talked about A Door Into Summer, so I'll just say I really like how it sounds at this spot in the album. It fits well.
Shine On American Dreamer has a killer intro, and it really sounds to me like it could be a Chickenfoot leftover.
I love the riffs in Jumpin' In and Jumpin' Out, and there's a lot of space in both songs (and throughout the whole album, really). I think JO is my favorite of the two right now.
The Weight Of The World reminds me of Wormhole Wizards a bit, both with the overall vibe and the placement toward the end of the album. This one is another early favorite.
I'll echo what Pip55 said about A Celebration...I hear the Speed Of Light vibe in here, but it's flipped around enough to be different. I think it's a great choice to end the album, and I have a feeling it'll become a fun driving song.
Well, that's enough for now...more from me when my Ultimate Music box arrives.
...Austin...

The 2 songs that have grabbed my attention so far are Lies and Truth, and whatever song is at the 28 minute mark. I lost track of counting the songs. lol! I'm a sucker for the beat on this track. Love it! Great vibe! The song after is great too.
Is it Shine on at the 28 mark?

OMG OMG OMG! This post is a few days late in going up, but I'm still in a 'capital letter' mode! Bought my tickets earlier this week on the pre-sale for the September show in Boston. I've seen Joe perform maybe 1/2 dozen times, I think the closest I've been has been about 20 rows from the stage. But I scored FRONT ROW for the Orpheum Theatre show! PSYCHED! Maybe I'll get lucky and win the after pass show contest too!

Thanks for the preview!!! Now for the post of random thoughts!
I was cautiously optimistic after only hearing "A Door Into Summer" and had to give it a few listens before truly warming up to it as more than just a safe, happy song. It is a good track and certainly has a place in the lineup.
Everything else I've heard on the album is top notch, and definitely has classic and renaissance Joe. :) Assuming that the tracks in the preview are in the same order as they appear on the album, "Can't Go Back" is one of my early favorites.... KILLER USE OF WAH, in true Joe form! (I'm pulling the JS1000 out today and my 535Q and taking a stab at it! hehe) ;)
"Jumpin' In" is a solid jam as well and shines when he hits the bridge.
Portions of "Lies and Truths" seem to have some roots from a few of the Big Bad Wah demo tracks, particularly the last three JAM mixes:
VOX Big Bad Wah tracks
I think "Three Sheets To the Wind" and "I'll Put a Stone On Your Cairn" are both truly soulful masterpieces...
I really enjoy the full, warm, and complex melodies Joe brings to the table this go around. (Well, every go around I guess... hehe) It seems crazy it's been 2 1/2 years since BSAWW came out! Among others from that one, the bonus track "Longing" from BSAWW was a beauty and sang to the heavens...
I really hope some tour dates in the midwest are added! (think Chicago, Indy, or St. Louis)
Thank you Joe for another chapter in your story.

Joe,I'm drunk little bit,I know there is almost no chance to play like you or have a lesson from you,but I know I can be so creative in any field,I feel like a monster that can't reach enough information.I have to discover every concept myself without a fucking teacher, and it feels alone and unfair, and I feel like I need to discover every discovery in music because I'm a physicist and I don't have much experience in music.I wonder so much, even once I told to my parents that I want to be a fucking rocking guitarist.Actually I shouted at them after a car accident I made, you don't expect that from a physicist.I saw how idealistic and creative you are,and I'm listening and watching you with admire.I came to life once, and as you did when you were young(you look still at 30's),I want to have a lesson from you,I don't have any fucking money,I don't have any property or anything I'm so fucking broke and trying to become a nuclear physicist.I want to have a lesson with you and it's like falling in love desperately,I don't want fame,I want to know how music works and what's for you, what you did?I want to sit down with you and discover new music, why we like it so much? What are the rules? There is so much thing that I can't say...Actually,I don't expect you to answer(my logical side) but I expect you to answer this, when you play,I wonder what are you thinking in your mind.I don't know it,this is one of my biggest question in life, how you think when you compose or play.A melody,a chord progression,a song.

Damn Joe, I don't know how you do it! The first time I heard Three Sheets to the Wind, I absolutely hated it, now after listening to it several times, I really like it! (except for the horn part, I still don't like that part)
After listening to the album on repeat all day, I am really diggin' this album. Great job Joe!
