This is something I wrote for my mom a few years ago. I hope everyone has said something to your mom like this. Don't take it for granted that she knows.
M Is for the many times you stood by me, even when I made the wrong choices in my life.
O Is for the one thing I can always be sure of; my mom will always love me.
T Thank you for all the sacrifices you made in your life so that I could be happier in mine.
H Is the heartfelt love that you have shown me no matter how much I didn’t show you.
E For everything you have done for me, without your guidance I would not be who I am today.
R For the reason I write this to you.
I want you to know that no matter where my life takes me, I know that I will always have the love, support and unwavering dedication to my happiness that only a mother can give. When all is said and done I know I’ll never lose your love, and it makes my world a better place thinking of you Mother.

At 5:45 last Saturday morning my mother, Katherine Satriani, passed away at home surrounded by her children and family. She was in no pain and at peace with dying. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just two weeks ago, but faced the situation with calm and grace. She was a remarkable woman, and will be missed by all who knew her... Joe

Much love to you and your whole family Joe. It is wonderful that all her family was able to be there with her. I'm sure you will have lovely memories of your mom that will someday comfort you. You are held very close in all our hearts.....we all love ya dearly Joe....hugs.

Nice to hear Joe that this wasnt a shock to you as much it has been to us. We all care much about you and clearly your Mom touched so many besides doing such an amazing Job bringing up such a remarkable family. I saw her pride in your performance at the Beacon Theater as she watched you...and thats was awesome!
May your heart and soul find peace and comfort.

Joe- we all love you so very much here be we are all keeping you in our hearts. We give your whole family a giant cyber hug. I wish i would have had the chance to see her at your show... but i know she was a great lady. we all love you and know how hard that could have been but im glad to know she went in peace and wasnt in pain. And its good to know you and your entire family was there for her.

Joe, so sorry to hear about your Mother. My condolences to you and your family. Your someone who has always made time for your fans and taken the time to respond to us in a friendly and open manner. If this is a reflection of how your Mother was as a person then she must have been a beautiful person indeed.
This song was written when Nuno's mother passed away and is a very open and fitting tribute. Thought I'd share it for what it's worth.

JOE--Thank you for letting your fans know about your mom's illness and passing. I could feel the love you have for your mother when you answered questions in an interview about where you came from and who influenced you/set the musical foundation for your future as a guitarist. I think it was on You Tube, Living Legends. Very autobiographical. I remember you speaking about your Mother playing piano and you and your brother banging on the piano playfully as kids. You didn't see the piano as "your" instrument maybe, but you looked up to your Mother and must have enjoyed watching and hearing her play. No one and nothing can take those memories of her away.....You are so blessed, Joe. I love you for who you are and for sharing your music and bio with us. Thank you.
