Peace Lily: I do try to get some rest in between. Earlier today, I took a small nap (after work was done this morning). As of right now, the next two days, I work at six in the morning in the restaurant (at Marriott), which will be my first time working in that department. I try to balance everything out with work at Holiday Inn, the guitar store, and Marriott. I also let the staff at each place know (in advance) on what days I prefer to work and when I'm available. They all know that running is a passion of mine. Hope you enjoy your, "Satriani Live". Happy Holidays!
Cheese101: That's great news that your Dad is doing well. Please give him my best. Happy Holidays again!
Michelle: Glad to hear that you and your folks are doing well. Hope the storm does not cause any problems for you all. I heard we might start getting more snow later tonight. Happy Holidays again!

Glitz Man :- I don't know how well known he is in your parts but he does a daily Hollywood/Celebrity News report segment on one of our regular Aussie morning shows(Sunrise) and he often mentions when he has a running event coming up, so just thought you may have crossed paths.
Anyway, great to hear your doing well with your work schedule and still be able to compete. What's next for you?

Fatape: Well Craig, I'll probably have to look back at all the races I have done for the past number of years. I don't think I have ever met Nelson Aspen. Thanks for the info. As for running, there are a couple of races coming up soon. One of them is a 5K while the other is a 50K (kind of like an ultramarathon). I'm thinking of doing them both, but it depends on my work schedules.
Speaking of work, I have work the next two days at six in the morning at my new/recent job (in the restaurant). It's a challenge to handle three jobs & still run, but I try to make things organized so it will work out smoothly.
Another challenge for me is the weather. Right now, it's snowing and we also have a Winter Weather Advisory along with a Wind Advisory. It's not easy driving and being out in this kind of weather, but that's part of life I guess.
AYE!

Glitzy - sorry to be a dummy but do you run in the snow then? Or do you go to an indoor track of some sort? Hard to comprehend when it's a glorious 25 C here and I'm planning which way to serve the seafood entree on Xmas day and the gin and lime spritzers!
Mind you, we haven't shaken the trad British lunch (my Mum is British) of having roasted meats even if it's sweltering outside. Go figure.
Amazing effort by you to maintain your training in that climate - any chance of some pics of snowy Fort Wayne?
Davy Knowles is stuck in his bus in a Walmart carpark in the snow rightnow....
For Chickenfoot in Australia say "aye"!

Skippygirl:
Don't feel bad. There is no such thing as a stupid question. I mostly run outside in the snow and cold temperatures. It's good conditioning when there are "cold, snowy" races that are coming up, especially those runs I mentioned to you. In high school, I did cross-country and track and we ran in all sorts of weather, and I still do. Sometimes, I'll go to the fitness room at my apartment complex and use the treadmill, or any of the fitness equipment. I even do stair workouts, starting from the underground parking lot and going up about 15-16 flights to the Penthouse doors.
Right now, we had some snow that came down a little bit ago and it looks like a Winter Wonderland. I'll see about getting a picture of my town for all of you, but I'll have to ask one of my friends/neighbors to help me with that. I figured you might be interested. You can check out the runs that I have done at fwtc.org & runindiana.com. This year, I have done 20 runs/races. Hope this helps.
Hope you have a wonderful Holiday Season. I might be working, but I'll be with my family in the evening to celebrate. Plus, I'll be visiting my Grandparents, and all my Cousins, Aunts, & Uncles, which will be cool.
AYE!
Cheese101 & Peace Lily: Just saw the pic. Very unpretty.
Hope all this Wintry weather doesn't get worse when I head for work in the (early) morning. The weather here might change to rain sooner or later. All this weather is probably due to global warming or something.

Al, This one's for you. Go check yer sleeves ya douche! lmao!
T-Bones, the person who won is the one I was hoping for out of the final 2 that were the tightest in the race. Crazy almost won, but she got bumped by crazy #2. Unbelievable what those peeps look like now compared to when they first went on the show. I really shouldn't drink a glass of wine and crack peanuts while watching that show. lol! Shay is coming back for the next season, and Subway is giving her $1,000 for every pound she loses. Talk about motivation!!
Ohhh, Danica has moved to NASCAR!
That storm is coming this way, but nothing yet. According to the weather map, it's all up on us, but nothing is reaching the ground.
I say, if ya got a pocket full of tomatoes, why not throw them?

Hey Joe! (now i got that song in my head...)
I know you heard it before, but ill have to tell you, too: great job, with everything! You are a/one/the-most fantastic guitar player.
Sadly, i only recognized that when i started playing myself...
Since were at the subject: i need your advice. You probably guessed that i am a huge hammett fan. After becoming a fan of his, there was no way around becoming yours. I actually started because i was bored. I had a friends Epiphone SG at my place, just grabbed it and tried a little. I didnt care that i was a lefthander and the guitar a righthander's. So i just held it "upside down", (like Albert King, the low E string is the lowest of my strings). Now, three years and various scales, chords and progressions later, i start to think whether or not i should learn it "properly". I am good at what im doin right now, but i just dont know if i could be better. Too bad that i fancy lead/solo guitar now, since those thin strings are at the top(further distance for my fingers). What i need from you is a guitar-masters opinion on the way i play, and if it COULD make sense or even have certain advantages(or disadvantages) to it, that i dont see yet.
Bends are easier for me, so are barre chords and their variations. I am having trouble with pentatonic pulloff/hammeron patterns, since from pinkie to index i can only stretch over about 6 or 7 frets (in the higher regions of the fretboard)
My dream would be finding a teacher who knows as much as you, and is willing to work with my style...
thanks for taking the time
Ronny
