afternoon all! been very busy so not much time to catch up. just wanted to wish everyone a good new year and hope that this year brings everyone some good health and happiness. i know there are still folks here who are having difficulties of one kind or another, my self included, but try to remain positive and remember, no matter how bad it gets, someone, somewhere has it worse! and when all else fails, put on some JOE or Chickenfoot and let your mind go for a little while!

McDave, we're gonna need a bigger basket if we're all going together. lol! I'd like a seat neat Tracie if at all possible. lmao!!

Some of us know the history, and have had one to many live chats to know the score. I pretty much don't care what happens to narcissistic fabricating drama seekers, especially if you heard the story before. That might make me a bitch, but like I said, when you know the history, and know it's all for attention, it's just sad.

That being said, I have much sympathy and empathy for people I believe.

Joe, I caught you with Leslie West at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg, PA for the Professor Satchifunkilus tour a year or two ago - dynamite show - because my dad wasn't aware until too late that I could have gotten a ticket that would have let me meet you before the show, I only got to sit on the 3rd row (I did get Leslie's pick - very cool - it's framed with the signed Pr. Satchifunkilus poster I got at the show). Anyway,

I'm going to the Experience Hendirix Tour show in Akron in March, and am wondering if there are any "meet Joe" tickets available - Neither dad nor I can find them at Ticketmaster or the EHT site.

By the way, I got the Satuartoer and Time Machine for Christmas - incredible pedals. Also btw, I performed my rendition of Crush of Love at my guitar teacher's recital in early December - blew the crowd away.

Just saw this message pertaining to Gilby Clarke -

"My husband was in a bad motorcycle accident last night he was hit by some idiot that ran from the scene. Gilby has a busted leg. We r lucky!"

I hate it when that happens.

Castle, I'll make room in the basket for you :-)

and us girls can all grope McDave and Ally Wally and cube together :)))) It ain't no fun in the basket without yer friends, LOL!!!

History is right, there are those who know, and those who have no idea so their sympathies get tapped. I can understand that of course, happens all the time in my job as a social worker, I think I'm helping someone truly in need and later occasionally find out I've been had. A sad fact of life....it doesn't keep me from trying to help the next person cuz you just never know. But in this case, having been "had" twelve too many times, my sympathy in that direction dried up a long time ago. I can only be lied to so many times before I give up and won't believe anything anymore. "Boy (or girl) who cried wolf" syndrome.

Onwards....Chris saw the pic of the JS Acoustic yesterday and got excited...but he's workin on getting his JS1200 first, then an acoustic. He's been checking out Breedlove acoustic electrics, they are quite nice and affordable and are made right here in Oregon!! BUT....stick a JS acoustic in his hands and who KNOWS what the verdict will be!

Joe...the amp is almost to Grants Pass, WOO WOO!!! :) We love ya!

Castle - That's nice of you to say, miscarriage is a very emotive subject in our house. My daughter has had four and it has been challenging dealing with it. The good news is that she is now almost 16 weeks pregnant (the longest she has managed) and still managing to keep the little bugger inside. My big shit eating grin gets just a little bigger each day.

My son finally got the Sigur Ros dvd Heima in the mail today. It was on back order when I ordered it for him for Christmas. Weirdy stuff I tells ya. He likes it, and that's what matters. I'm just happy he branches out and listens to a bit of everything instead of being stuck in one musical groove.

2 Ton, all of 'em?? lol! If ya ever attempt to read them all at one time, make sure yer wearin' some hip-waders. That's a lot of crap to wade through. lol!

Let's dance!

Hiya aniburoline!

elpp - I was able to find a torrent of the Simpsons anniversary special. I don't know how fast your internet connection is, so it might not be an option, but I'm mentioning it just in case.

One of the later segments asked what the world would be like without the Simpsons. There were a lot of jokes from the staff, saying they'd be poor, wouldn't be living in Malibu, would have an uglier wife, etc. It was kinda funny, but I wish they would have treated it as a serious question.

With no Simpsons I don't think Fox ever would have "made it" as a major network. That may have changed TV...Fox may not have gotten into sports or cable news. I don't like Conan O'Brien, but one of his first gigs was writing a few Simpsons episodes. So without the Simpsons he never would have had a career. Late night TV would sure be different.

michelle - I love Sigur Ros...cool to hear that your son is into them.

I saw them in concert about a year and a half ago (at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, where Chickenfoot just played). It was cold and threatening to rain all day, but it held off through the band's main set.

The song they played as an encore was a longer one, 10+ minutes...it starts slow with just guitar, and the other instruments come in slowly and the intensity increases over the course of the song. So about halfway through, the drums increase to full volume...and at that exact moment, rain finally came POURING down. The timing was so perfect, it was as if the guy at the sound booth had a switch that controlled the weather.

It was a GA show, so of course the crowd went nuts...we were all soaked, but it was very fun and definitely one of my favorite concert moments.

Do the Burgers, I believe I just heard that song. My son said "It intensifies as it goes", but it kept going and going. lol! The crowd was on their feet and standing cheering and rocking out before the drums even kicked in. I asked my son if they were hearing the same music we were. lmao! That short bit when the drums kicked in was pretty good. Just not my cup o' tea, but my son sure digs it. I also got him a couple of SR cd;s for Christmas. The show you went to sounds pretty cool the way the rain came down.

michelle - Yeah, the song is "untitled 8" from their ( ) album...the song is also known as Popplagio (Icelandic for "The Pop Song").

My favorite song of theirs is one I think you might like...Saeglopur (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFEQHpIkKxk). If the beginning bores you (I hope it doesn't), jump to about 1:55. You also might like Gobbledigook (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfKw5r7M7MQ), the first song from their most recent album.

The band's lyrics are a mix of Icelandic and a made-up language. In a weird way, I think I'd like the band less if I could understand Icelandic. The guitar player is pretty cool...I guess you've seen some of the DVD, but he plays with a violin bow and an EBow as well.

Joe, if you're reading this...what do you think of Sigur Ros?

...Austin...
