Thanks Peace Lily for the link to the interview. Just wish they would announce they have accepted invitations to Australia :0).

Wonder who exactly has to invite them?? Anybody know, so that I can bang on some doors here?

Saw my brother yesterday and he gave me his Line 6 Spider III amp thingy - it's so cool!!!! Hilarious that I still can't play more than an open chord but I was able to plug in and play around with the effects and it's fantastic!! So much better for Smoke On The Water haha!

Can anyone give me some tips on what I can do with it?? I downloaded the user manual but it assumes a level of prior knowledge ("add dirt to the Crunch") so I have no idea....

OOOOhhhhhh Skippy, yer about to learn a whole new language, LOL!!! Fat, dirty, grinding, gritty, luminous, shimmering.....talk to a guitar player and yer eyes will glaze over :)))) Especially one that's a "gear-head" like my son...or Joe :) Have fun with yer new "toy" !!

Just hit a Sam Goody's "going out of business" sale....ended up with 6 "Live in concert" dvds: Nickelback, Joe Bonamassa, Creed, Lacuna Coil, Nightwish and.....ish....Avril. Deys all be fer Chrisper...had to put several back cuz it was too $$$$, but there were several more tempting ones....EC's Crossroads 2007, YJM, Eric Johnson in Anaheim, Bon Jovi, and John Mayer. Looked for the UFO vid with Vinnie Moore playing, Dream Theater Score, and any Jeff Beck but they dint have those. All in all a very successful adventure :) At least Chrispie thinks so! I'd be richer if I'da stayed home in bed!!

burly - Yes, Joe is playing at all of the Experience Hendrix gigs in the spring. The EH website isn't as clear as it has been in the past about just who will be at what show, but Joe specifically said so in an interview that was posted here a few weeks back.

elpp - I actually haven't heard much Transatlantic, but I'm excited about the idea of going to a concert blind (or deaf, I guess).

I think there's a song or two on Mike Portnoy's latest instructional DVD...that's all I've heard from the band. I do like Neal Morse / Spock's Beard, though, so I am very excited for the show. I hope it works out.

cheese101 - Great job with the music DVDs...!

I have the Lacuna Coil and Eric Johnson DVDs you mentioned...good choices there. And you need to get Dream Theater's Score because, well, I was there! :-)

I don't think Chris knows much Cheap Trick, but I bet they're a band he would appreciate. Their Live At Budokan CD/DVD box set is quite nice.

...Austin...

Hello Everybody!

A lot has happened for me the past week. I'm no longer working at the Holiday Inn, due to some conflict with one of my bosses, in the workplace. The boss, at first, said I can work at both hotels, and then later, I get written up and said that I can't do both & ordered me to choose and to sign my write-up. Therefore, the next day, I went in and turned in my stuff, I refused to sign that write-up, and told them that I'm going with the Marriott, which was the right move for me. That Holiday Inn is going downhill there, but that's not my problem, since they treated me with disrespect.

Okay, now the running. On the 13th, I did a 5K in 18 minutes & 40 seconds; came in 2nd in the Age Division; 18th overall out of about 100. Last Saturday, I did the Huff 50K Trail Run (which was actually 33 miles for this course). The course was very challenging: Snow, slush, cold temperatures, wind, and the trails were slippery. I slipped about a few times, but don't worry, no injuries. I actually ended up walking at least a mile, going into the last few miles. However, I did manage to finish that Ultra-Marathon in 5 hours, 11 minutes, and 1 second. I came in 36th overall; 2nd in my Age Division. I felt cold & tired, especially my legs, after that "Endurance Challenge"; and felt bad for about a quarter of the participants who dropped out. About 200 participated in the "Man vs. Nature" 50K.

You all can check out the Huff 50K at runrace.net ; fwtc.org ; or runindiana.com. I'm #174, wearing one of my high school shirts (Woodlan).

Joe: I hope I didn't let you down on that 50K Trail Run. This one was for you, your Mom, and family. Best to you & your family during the Holiday Season.

Michelle: Suprised that Brittany Murphy passed away. I remembered her from King of the Hill (Luanne). Too many young people are dying these days. I just don't get it. Prayers to the family. BTW, I also have Dog With Crown & Earring on Joe's ITLiS. I got it from Amazon a while back.

McDave: I saw, "Survivor: Samoa" last night to, while I was getting my laundry & cleaning done. I think Russell H. should have won because he played the best out of everyone. At least he won America's Vote and won $100,000. Congrats to that Natalie girl, who won. Well-deserved by her. Can't wait for the next season, "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains." Maybe Russell H. will get a second chance.

Skippygirl, Peace Lily, Elpp, & Everyone here: I hope I didn't disappoint all of you on that 50K Run. This run is not like any other run. This was a challenge of endurance, and Man vs. Nature. It's not easy as you think.

Time to work at the guitar store. Chat with you all soon.

GlitzMan....yeah he did play the game better. But I had an issue with him calling everybody else "bums and losers"....he obviously believes that he is a higher life form. And it was his big mouth that ended up costing him the win. His ranting at the end about "may the best man win" was disrespectful to the one woman left standing. Anyways..

McDave: That's true, his mouth, and making big deals & promises, did cost him the game. This just goes to show that on Survivor, or on any reality show, like The Amazing Race or Big Brother, you reap what you sew. Who knows, we might see him again soon, if he is on the next Survivor. I have some picks on who might be on there again. BTW, check your e-mail soon.

Bluebuffalo: Same to you & your wife. How is she doing? I hope she's doing better.

Fatape: G'Day Matey! Happy Holidays to you to!

To Everyone: Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! Felíz Navidad! Happy Hannukah! Happy Kwanzaa! Happy New Year! Best to you all!

Wooley and Austin, thanks for the suggestions.....I had already considered the UFO dvd but the store didn't have it. Chris loves Vinnie Moore, so I'll keep looking :) And I'll ask him about Cheap Trick....he already had the DT Score dvd but....well.....he's Chrispy after all, so it.....died.... =|

I haven't watched any Survivor shows for a coupla years now....never used to miss it. Maybe I'll watch it again one of these days :) Fer some reason I'm having fun with Top Chef, the Housewives of wherever, like Jersey, New York, Atlanta and of course OC...and Iron Chef, etc etc....barely watch any prime time stuffs anymore! Well, I do watch American Idol :D

Only 2 more work days after today, and then Chrisper comes home and I'm off on Christmas break for a few days, weeeehawwwww....I need some time OFF!!

Congrats to Freddy for his graduation, and how is Shannon doing, any updates you'd like to share? Still thinkin about ya :)

The sun is shining and its almost 50 F out. Crazy, last week pipes were freezing and people were sliding of roads and today is positively spring like . Loving the sun shine, we haven't sunshine for weeks. Makes me feel happy. Probably no white Christmas ....but oh well.

Glitzman- I don't think you disappointed anyone . It was so cool you dedicated that run to Joe's mom and Joe and family. Sounds like you gave it your all and considering the weather...did very well . I think you are being to hard on your self.(give yourself a well deserved pat on the back) Sorry to hear that one of your jobs gave you grief, sound like you made the right decision to leave their employ. Good luck on your upcoming runs and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Blue Buffalo - Still keeping your family in my prayers . Merry Christmas.

Skippygirl- when I first saw the title on that link I thought maybe Chickenfoot was going south to Australia. I bet they will though sometime . I would have liked to have seen Davy Knowles last Sunday in Portland Ore. but the roads were just to treacherous to travel that far.

Slanshroom-thanks for bringing that to our attention. Glad "Rage" won out over the cookie -cutter manufactured crap.

Michelle- I always thought Britney Murphy had the biggest saddest eyes ever, even when she was smiling those eyes looked so sad and kinda lost. Like she needed a big hug, poor thing.

Well the holidays are fast approaching and time is a commodity that will be in short supply this week so I will say to you all "Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas ...May you all have a safe and blessed holiday."

Hey, thanks for asking about my wife. There hasn't been any significant change. She had a couple memories come back from when our daughters were 2 and infant age. She remembered an old place we lived in.

A bad memory was thrown in her face by a friend in anger. She assumed her grandmothers both died of natural causes. However, her friend reminded her that wasn't the case. One of them was murdered when she was a teenager. My heart goes out to her, she has to relive that grief again.

I know not much of a friend
