I wonder if Al escorts the spiders in his bedroom out the front door so nicely?

I swear to Christ if I ever saw something like that in my house there would prolly be a for sale sign on my lawn the next day! lol!

Castle, I was to young to let it bother me. My sis had a wild cast of characters she hung around with. She'd throw parties at night when my mom & dad would be out. I learned a lot in those days. lol! None of it good, but I was ahead of the game when we learnt about drugs in school. lol!

"she's only 13 and she knows how to nasty" is genuis?

I admit I liked Burnt Weenie Sandwich and Brown Shoes Don't Make it but his fans thought of themselves as oh so intellectual. Gag me.

I'll bet that most (if not all) of the guitar players here (including Joe himself) have played at least part of a song that owes it's life to Zappa. Enjoy

The DNA tests are in. Charles Barkley is blacker than Snoop Dogg 75% to 71%. George Lopez gave Snoop consolation prizes that white people would like - a size medium tshirt, a Glee dvd, and a Snoop Dogg Malice In Wonderland cd. That was pretty funny!

JOE--Thanks for stopping by this space reserved ALWAYS for you. I enjoy reading your posts not just because they are in BLUE, but because there is no genius in the world like you. I will never forget that your friend Steve Vai said, "There's enough success to go around." So true.

Is this just a coincidence? Am I a fool for believing in co-exisence and pre-existence? The great Jackson Browne's first album in 1972 was "Saturate Before Using"!!!!!! Not too many years down the road, Satch arrived to awaken our ears, hearts and minds to REAL rock 'n roll guitar as vocalist music........it took me until the millenium to wake up and slowly crawl out of my isolation..........after seeing/listening to the SATCH TAPES I now know why. The modest Joe didn't have to raise the volume on his guitar to make it sound beautiful. Thank, God! Now my stereo is "Satchurated!"

DoTheStu--You were right about breaking down barriers to get to the front of the stage nearest Joe....the wisdom of youth! Why do I still think of "respectful distance"? Aww,...me....(blushing!)

Slans and Pip55--Thanx for the other "Engines of Creation..." by K. Eric Drexler AND the Mozart interlude AND Flight of the Bumblebee.

Al McKenna........I embrace you and your mum gently in my prayers......my love and hugs to both of you :-)

Blue Moon - never had heard of Fever Ray till you posted the link. That song kept going thru my mind ...had to go back and watch it multiple times then checked out other songs. Not sure why it appeals to me, but it does.

I saw the Steve Morse Band (with Dave LaRue on bass) at a club in Redondo Beach tonight. The first opening band was Points North, and they are very worth looking into. They're a trio and have that Dixie Dregs / SMB sound.

Next up was Sarah Spencer, who just finished a CD (Angelfire) with the SMB backing her. The band she was with tonight included Steve on acoustic guitar, which was really cool. She has a beautiful voice, but she seemed REALLY shy onstage.

The Steve Morse Band played for just under 90 minutes...they did three Dixie Dregs songs, which was a nice treat. The highlight of the night, though, was when Van Romaine had a problem with his drums (I think his bass pedal broke) and Steve and Dave did two impromptu classical guitar/bass duets while the problem was being fixed.

Excellent show. I got a guitar pick, autograph, and handshake from Steve, and an autograph from Sarah. As shy as she seemed up onstage, she's a real sweetheart (and a cutie, haha).

Is anyone else on the west coast catching one of the remaining SMB gigs?

axeshredderjc - Wow...that lineup sounds AMAZING! I can't wait to hear what they come up with.

So Jason is doing this and Jonesy is doing Them Crooked Vultures...the pressure's all on Jimmy now. ;-)

This news also reminds me of how much I don't like Robert Plant. These projects are a reminder that the other 3/4 of Led Zeppelin were clearly in top form and wanting to do more together after their reunion in 2007. Argh...

Austin...have you heard the album "Raising Sand" Robert put out with Alison Krauss ? Pretty good I thought. And did'nt they win an award for that one?

I agree that a Zep reunion would be a dream come true. That is a show that I would definately empty the wallet for. But I think Robert is well aware that he can't sing like he used to.
