yup Guth is by far one of the UK,s best, wicked technique yet tastful & musical which is rare in most young players. Its a pity people overlook the musicality in players of this calibre, all 2 often demoting them down to a speed competition...music is not the olympics... if it was Shawn Lane would have fried the lot n still had time t spectate 2nd place cross the finish line

hi mr joe im from peru.... im a big fan of you and i love to play guitar... i think i play quite good... quite. im not sure if you mr joe are really the guy whos posting the answers in this "blog" ,but let me hope im wrong... i ve never assisted to any music school here in peru or anywhere. i dont even read a tab... i play because my fingers move along the guitar without control and my ears help me to anticipate what would i play next.... improve.... here in peru i aint got the opportunities that all of your great students had. here there is no such great guitar players as you,who can teach me and i cant afford the only music school that exists here... i dont even have an amp.... but ive got my guitar .... here in peru there are good guitar players because they play others music but i dont want to be just good i want to be a virtuoso as you.... my influencces are slash, you, jimi hendrix, stevie ray vaughn, kirk hammet, buddy guy, santana, randy rhodes etc.... please tell me how to improve my guitar skills to someday be like you....thanks for the time

"Live in Paris: I just wanna rock" sounds very 'live' (as in rather hollow/ambient) but Joe's totally on fire! Wow! The weekend rocks! CF is cool and fun, but this is the part of Joe's universe I love. I'm gonna play Overdriver at 11 a couple of more times in my studio, tear some walls :-)
Joe manages still to put some different accents in old songs to keep them interesting, and I love the PSATMOR live versions the most. The middle part of Out Of The Sunrise is a bit like Joe playing with Particle (a group I like too). And Time Machine is really out there. Impressive use of FX on many tracks these days. If anyone would ask me: "I want to get to know this Satriani, what to get?", I'd recommend "Live in Paris".
Though LISF is and was favourite, the defining Joe :-)
Or maybe since today..............

Alan Mc--this is proof positive that you are a 100% genuine human being with feelings, reasoning and emotions along with common sense and good love stuff!
"Twas funny for everyone cept lil Logan who probably resides in some sort of home now
Poor lil fella"
I'm ashamed and embarassed by my late maternal grandfather who I was told cursed every Irish person on this planet to hell. I never understood what he was so angry about.....except he was just an angry person. Makes me sad to think of him and how horribly he treated me mom.
Ask me what you want me to do for you at tomorrow's benefit concert featuring Joe, Jeff and Stu.

Can't buy a signed copy of the new Live DVD+CD outside America? Boo! I live in Australia, and have been to all of Joe's shows in Brisbane, including G3, and buy all of his music. I was hoping to get a signed copy, but it appears we can't outside the US.
Joe, please make this offer available to your Australian fans, too! :)

TheHawkGuy...I kept getting an error message at Youtube trying to open that link. Are you referring to the band called Saxon? Back in 1984 my friends and I hopped a bus into Boston and saw them at a little under 18 club. One of my first rock/metal concerts.

Is that the Mt. Diablo that is east of San Francisco? I visited a town called Danville back in '92 and I remember that the guy we were staying with pointed that mountain out to us.
Thanks, I'll look those guys up on YouTube. It's been many years. I still remember their signature tune Denim & Leather..

Thansk Skippy, those acoustics look great, and will no doubt sound great. (But I want a JS1200 first)
P-Lilly thanks, at least a bit of a timeframe for the wait for a new solo album by Satch, if we're lucky end of this year....
