I'm actually VERY excited about Black Country...maybe moreso than with Them Crooked Vultures or even Chickenfoot. I can't wait to hear what they come up with.

jemstone19 - You can still buy Engines Of Creation from Amazon and CD Universe.

If you made a mistake and are actually talking about Additional Creations, well, Ebay is your best bet. And don't be surprised if you have to pay $100 for it.

D_O_M - Joe said he'd tell us more later, but he hasn't yet...I bet all will be revealed eventually. Before the news broke, Joe sounded a bit frustrated in some interviews that the JSX 50 hadn't yet been released...I don't know anything more than you do, but if I had to make a guess maybe Joe wasn't happy with the delay?
Sir_Loin - Aside from what's probably a new user name, you haven't changed at all in the three years you haven't been posting here. What made you come back? And what do you have against Joe and the rest of us?

Do the burgers - Austin, surely he/she hasn't got something against all of us. T2J is nothing if not an eclectic mix. Or maybe indeed it is because we are all here because of Joe, maybe he's a Coldplay troll. LOL

I read some place that Joe couldn’t get the sound he wanted out of the JSX. That he would go back to them on his solo stuff.…. I was just wondering if anyone heard anything…. I wish he would come out with an affordable line. His stuff is GREAT, top end, but man you pay for it. Like the 50 watt JSX amp for $500.

Like they say: you get what you pay for.

Looks like Sir_Loin is a big coldplay fan

Cappy Steve - By "the rest of us" I meant the other people he hinted at in his posts, not T2J as a whole. That would be some feat though, because as you said, we are an eclectic bunch. ;-)

I don't know why people feel the need to pick on fans who are nothing but nice to everyone else here. And calling people suck-ups for being happy the Saints won? I used to live in Louisiana, I've seen the Saints play twice and I've been to several events at the Superdome. But even without a connection to the team, there's absolutely nothing wrong with sports fans being happy that a football team will be playing in its first Super Bowl.

D_O_M - My initial thought was the same as yours...that Marshall gave Joe a sound he wanted for Chickenfoot and that was that. But if you look through Joe's recent posts, he replies to a question Tracie (cheese101) had about her son's JSX amp. He clearly says he's no longer with Peavey.

We'll find out eventually. We don't know the details of his endorsement contract...maybe there was a noncompete clause for a certain period of time.

I actually prefer his Marshall sound. I think the JSX makes him sound too "brash"...especially with the JS-1200. I thought his LISF set-up was the best.

Sir Loin....nice porno nickname...but you're obviously not here to make friends...lol.

ame.... LISF is my fav... Never a big fan of the JSX or even the new Marshall sounds, The Extremist and CP have my fave recorded tones too, also the mixes and the post audio production on those albums are spot on

I can give or take the last 2 album sounds and SBM is waaaay to loud

I used to have a JSX. When it sounded good, it sounded great. I thought it was a little unreliable, both in terms of construction and sound. The thing sounded different every time I turned it on. Plus, it was way too heavy.

i have jsx and havent adjusted the knobs in over a year...perfect to my ears every time...i think it was a marvelous accomplishment....he too refined a player to play any amp for a long period of time..and of course ...marshall wins..he said he would explain when the time is right....i guess its still not right yet?...lol

Good Afternoon Satchland...... How Is Everyone/

I love my JSX. It's the best amp I've ever owned. I never had a prob with it sounding different. I use a Auralex "Great Gramma Pad" underneath my cab. It's designed to decouple your speaker from the floor. it really works well. I only really change the Master Volume from Rehearsal to Gigs. Check them out.

Austin,MikeSB..... I'm excited about Black Country. Looks to be like a killer line up. Do we see a new trend happening here?

Have A Great Evening Everyone !!!!!!

I'm dying to find out what happend with Peavey myself. I was out of the music scene for awhile, and I recently got a band together again. I didn't even know he had his own amps untill I started playing again. Now I have a line on one from Craigslist for 650.00 (212 combo).

McDave - I didn't like the JSX tone for the first few years Joe was using that amp, but I loved it on the PSATMOR tour. I don't know if that's the amp or maybe the way Joe's signature pedals sound with the amp or what, but it was good.

I caught two Chickenfoot shows in the spring, when Joe was using the JSX, and three later in the summer when he had the Marshalls. As far as Chickenfoot goes, I think Marshall is the right choice. It'll be neat to hear just what Joe uses on his next solo album, whenever that may be.

And I think Sir_Loin previously went by the name "Homer Simpson" or something similar on this site. The last time he posted before today was in 2007, and I seem to remember a Homer name from back then. The name "Sir_Loin" is also Simpsons-related (click here for the "Sir-loin a lot" challenge) so I think it fits.

A SPECIAL PRESENT FOR JOE Are you There? Joe has given soooo much talent and soul to us mortals that I wrote a musical present for him. Every guitar player is a student of his in one way or the other, I'm no different. I put this song, in 5 movements, together as a tribute to Joe. Don't take it all too serious... its just what he taught me to feel and express on guitar. Follow this link.

i havent used jsx amp distortion in some time...since i bought the satchurator...though the design of the jsx was made to accept pedals well...clearly thats probably the reason i havent had to adjust....for rehearsal i use the same pedalboard with =out the loop...in a solid state crap amp...and the satchurator makes it sound awesome...probably my most valuable guitar tool...cant live w/o it now.

Good Point Stu.... Joe didnt visit Peavey NAMM booth..that says alot. Vox had his pedals on display..but theres was an opening in between the TM and STCHRTR...wonder what happened??? Joe? My wild guess is...Joe showed us the pedal on twitter...my guess its some kind of octaver/pog and maybe there was a permission copyright issue...i sware Joe said a pedal was to be released at NAMM..?? I plan on purchasing the JS acoustic...it looks thin and a great reach..just what i was looking for ...i bet it has great action....anyone try it or the 2400?

I haven't heard the 2400 yet, I also have the Satchurator, can't say enough good things about it. Back in the day,I had an origanal JS1, and I also had a JS-5 (rain forest model) and I say HAD, because unfortunately, I had to pawn it many, many years ago. I was young dumb, and desperate for some cash. The worst part was, when it went well past it's pick up date at the pawn shop,I called, and they still had it, but, buy the time I got the rest of the money I needed to get it back, it was gone:( I missed it by days. I can't even tell you how depressed i was. So now after all these years I 'm getting back into playing in a band again, and I would give my left nut,to have that guitar back again. I even brought it up to my wife ,and it actually made me cry!! So of course she thought it was a little dramatic, but to me it was such an important part of my life back than. I lived and breathed satriani's music. I can't even tell you how many hours were spent in my bedroom trying to learn his songs, while everybody else was out partying and doing everything else teenagers do..Allright I'll stop running my mouth now. I would like to say to Joe, if he ever does read this. Your music means so much to me and many others, never ever stop making music just keep doing what you do , so well. Take care! S.T.E

hey alan...yeah your absolutely right...but there arent many amps with only a clean Channel...back in the day..they were all mostly like that....no gain...just master and Standard volume which created a natural gain when you peaked the standard volume. It was a normal thing to adjust your amp for songs and stuff..you all are spoiled now..lol. Now an amp without those channels are rated low or bad...kinda standard...not sure on all designs but the jsx clean channel is basically the amp without the channels (pretty sure they are wired seperately). Though if you ever have a pedal issue..its a great backup.

i hear ya smokintonye i thought of selling my fav guitar (not js) but i know i would regret it like you do...not to rub it in but that was an amazing guitar...and rare as hell too...i think you can buy one at JemUniverse but youll pay..that 2400 just looks beautiful...but ill bet it plays and sounds that way too

Yeah it makes me sick to think about it. I'm not sure how rare they are, but I thought I heard they made like 15? I could be wrong, but I can't imagine they made many, since they were hand painted. Maybe Joe could chime in, and give us some more info?

Al...I agree. So much so that I run my Distortion, Tube Screamer and Digital Delay to a nice, clean and very powerful '65 Reissue Twin Reverb.

Austin....I am way behind on Joe's music. I'm still soaking in Super Colossal (one of my favorites). I'll get back to you on PSOTMOR in a couple years.

Campbell--Where ya be these days? Don't ya celebrate Robert Burns Day? How was your Hogmanay?

Slanshroom--My Steve is reading Robert Burn's poetry. I don't think he's pronouncing the Scottish the way it's supposed to be done, though. Oh, well....When is your young "nephew" gonna visit? His comedy show is kinda lagging these days. But I do like his guitar sounds and songs.

Michelle--Doesn't it kinda get to ya the way Alan says "Shadap!" No one says it quite the way he does.

DoTheStu--I'm goin' to the benefit concert on Sunday with my hubby and sister. I'll take my reporter notepad and pen so I can take down all the songs Joe and his band plays. Anything else???
