turbo236 - Ian, thanks for the info on the CD/DVD package. That preorder price is pretty good so I went ahead and ordered from there. I didn't call about the autograph...but considering how long the preorder has been up, if they were still there when you called today it's probably safe to say they're still there now.

flupke - About the contest...it just says you need to answer the questions, it doesn't say your answers need to be right. So maybe you'll be OK. ;-) And I'm saying that because if the answers need to be in the exact format they're listed on the answer page, I don't know if anyone will win. Question one asks for a city but the answer is "city, country" and question three has a "city, country" answer for something that's larger than the city mentioned. Anyway...haha.
Onto Chickenfoot bootlegs (and back to turbo236's post, kinda)...the spring shows in MA and NY were also recorded, if you feel like searching for them. It's been a while since I've listened to them, but I remember the two you have being the best of the four, as far as sound quality is concerned.

I gave copies of those four shows to Joe at the Best Buy signing (here)...he seemed surprised that I had them all just a few days after that tour ended.

I doubt it's that simple, but wouldn't it be funny if hearing those bootlegs made him switch to Marshall? Haha...

...Austin...

Hmmm... I'm being tag teamed by M & T ........ that's a first ; D

Flattering really lol.... be worried if you joined in with the tag teaming there though Cappy!

Do The Stu - now that would be entertaining (switch to Marshall)! It would have been cool to see Orianthi on that tour

Smokintonye - I wouldn't beat yourself up too much. Are you checking the bay for 1000's/1200's? There's a vintage JS1 going in the next 14hrs that looks pretty clean

Pip-55 Yeah, I'm always looking, Ebay, Craigslist, local stores, I can't help myself, but honestly, right now I can't afford it. I'm in the process of trying to get a Jsx 212 combo off a local Craigslist add for 650.00. So yeah, it'll be awhile before I get my hands on a JS??? My Ibanez S470 will have to do:-(

Austin dts-..yeah Up in the Sky would be a fitting name....or Oriental Melody Machine?...he uses alot of that effect there....thanks for the relinks....there definatle was something missing from that display..lol..front and center!

So i saw the video about the cheap part being used in the Big Bad Wah and it is concerning to me as i havent purchased it yet and theres nothing i cant stand more that a squeaky wahwah. I have to take the posters word as he seems to know what hes doing. ..and to be ignored by Vox is serious and should be addressed. I consider anything with Joe's name on it to be quality and this news is disheartening and has me happy with my 535q with years of flawless use...until i hear this part has been upgraded..:)

didnt know you could lose your entry with a wrong answer....thanks god for google..lol.....it was 15 nominations..whew..i almost wrote 14

Listening to Chords of Life...wow..good times..:)...ok.Joe .you say a guitar with coin marks thats on every album...gotta be an acoustic?....

AXE I want to admit it is very very disappointing by vox products, especially after joe made several promotion humor videos on youtube in regard of vox products. If I was joe satriani? I'd check into that but for a pedal that need to be upgraded and no vox tech support? yes you are right , but I'm just kinda speechless about it

I've never tried the Big Bad Wah, but the journalist in me is wondering a few things.

The guy spends 10 minutes trashing the pedal, but he doesn't ever show his face on camera. What's he afraid of?

And what other gear is he using? Maybe there's something unique he's using that adds a lot of gain somewhere else in the chain, making a faint scratch/squeak much louder. Maybe the wiring in his house is old.

This guy is just one person who made a YouTube video. I don't expect a high-profile magazine like Guitar World to give an extremely negative review to something with Joe Satriani's name on it, but the BBW has been out long enough now to where I think if there were a widespread problem more than one person would have said something about it. (And TheHawkGuy, I'm not attacking you...if you know of other bad reviews please post them. I did a quick Google search and didn't find anything major.)

The pedal is mass produced, so it just isn't practical to have all of the best parts inside and out. Sacrifices have to be made to keep the cost down (so it sells...VOX is a business), yes, but this guy makes it sound like VOX and Satch released the pedal just to screw people over.

Anyway...

...Austin...

Do The Stumy fav part of the video . is the repaces it the pot with the dunlop pot .. dunlop pots are know for becoming scratchy over time,, at least all the ones i used over the last 15 years..here is the fix contact cleaner.. i too thought the guy put a lot of effort in slagging vox ..
ethn you only get the editors pick if you spend a lot in advertising .. ever notice the amount of adds in the mag determine if you get a pick award .

Hello!

Joe: I have heard from a friend that you are going to play in Denmark in late 2010?
That made me think that you probably have planned a 2010 Europe tour, since you are playing in Denmark. Is that right?

I really hope it is :D
I really enjoyed the concert in Amager Bio in 2008. AMAZING CONCERT. Since the concert, I have so seriously regret that I didn't buy a meet n' greet ticket. Please come back again or confirm that you are coming to Denmark. I am really begging you. Sorry :P.
I do really miss the feeling of hearing you live
You are such an inspiring guitarists. And im a really big fan!

I really cant wait to se you again!

Austin dts- well not showing face isnt a reason to say hes afraid of somethin...how many guitarist are faceless on youtube?....some people just dont like looking at themselves...i caught a glimse of the guy...i dont think he hiding anything but i guess being the only bad review...ill wait to here more from someone...hopefully Joe....as far as keeping costs down with quality...sorry..i dont agree with you...have you see the BBW pricetag....no need to use anything but quality...but your other points are pretty valid....now explaining why Vox never replied to him...could have made him angry but i dont see a reason to make a whole video unless there was something wrong here...i will note his video ...but still hold off the purchase until more facts have been supplied...or a note to Vox to guarantee resolution if theres is a prob after purchase..luckily they have an office locally and if i have a problem..ill make a big banner..lol

Headphone headsup - Just wanted to pass along a great deal this week. If anyone is looking for a great inexpensive portable headphone, get to Best Buy and check out the Koss PortaPro.

they originally came out in 1984...I got my first pair in 86, got my second pair last year. Only 2 things have changed on these over 25 years. There was some blue behind the ear pads and it's now black and they changed the cord. It's more like a shoelace. MUCH better.

Anyway, if you like a forward sound with exceptionally clear audio, good bass and amazing instrument separation...check these little bad boys out. They are goofy looking but make up for it in sound and they have a lifetime warranty.

Best Buy has them for 39.99 this week. they perform as well as headphones 3 and 4 times that price.

Only 6 days til Live in Paris!! Best Buy must have been preparing by putting these on sale! Rock on Joe! Can't wait to hear the new CD.

So, how's everyone else doing? Cali is getting pummeled these days.
