Obviously they still don't. What a small mind. Always acting out for attention. So sad.

Hey, I'm still alive after last year.Moving on to the subject of the new DVD. We all know Joe's hands can move up and down the fret board with great alacrity. However It's fun to see all the colors and stuff going on in his DVD. I think as someone mentioned he's trying to reach a broader audience which I think is great. What I would like to see with Joe is what Steve Vai has done and incorporate some varied new musicians into his music. I have been following Joe since the 80's and it's funny how you can get a little older. It would be great to see Joe's music mature and broaden its horizons. I don't think that will be with Chicken Foot either. Another thing is many of these songs have been on other DVD's. Besides this the DVD is very good and entertaining with some stand out moments(Andalusia) being one.

Great interview on the DVD. The interviewer woman is very engaging and asks a lot of good questions. She definitely did her homework.

Thanks Joe :-)

Just got the video today (Live in Paris), and I must say I'm disappointed. The special effects really detract from the performance and in my opinion do not add anything special. I think Joe's talent speaks for itself and when I watch his DVD's I want to feel like I'm at the show, not in some strange acid trip! If I would have known the DVD was this way I never would have bought it, I already have every one of Joe's CD's. I think there should be a warning "may cause seizures". Sorry Joe I still think your the greatest!

Ok. so a brief moment about my adventure tonight. I leave work to head to best buy to get the CD and DVD. According to the website they have both in stock. When I get there, they show a few in the computer, but no one can find them. So I drive about 10 miles to another Best Buy. Same story there. Sigh....So I call another Best Buy and they show the same thing but have none on the shelf. It's going on 8 and I need to get a move on as I have to get my daughter from dance class by 9. FYE has both on the shelf but it's too far away. So I FINALLY get the DVD and CD at Hastings.

I have listened to half of it so far. My thoughts in an earlier post were correct. The CD sounds like your receiver is set to Hall. I was also correct with saying that my computer sounds aweful and I couldn't really judge the sound i was hearing very well.

All I can say is DAMN!! Joe!! Easily your best live work to date. The sound is so different. It really captures live "SOUND". The sound is huge. All Joe's live CD's sound great and manage to caputer that live energy. But they haven't caught that wide huge soundstage.

To give a specific example, I had to get home and put my headphones on. Listen to Mystical Potatoe Head. 8 seconds into the song, you can hear the delay clearly...nothing different than any of the other live CD's. HOWEVER, listen to how far the delay travels. It's easily twice as wide as any other recording I've heard.

Joe I have to give up to you again. The music kicks ass like it always does, but the way you have actually captured the live sound so well is really remarkable!! Well done!!

Can't wait to listen to the rest of the CD and watch the DVD. But I had to drive over 45 extra miles tonight just to get my hands on them!!! Glad I did though.

Well I've heard it at least, (thanks to you-know-who), Joe it's incredible. It's got 100% rotation for me for the next few weeks.

Peace - thanks for the little linky......

I would love to see the beautiful night in Paris that this DVD was supposed to be all about, but I honestly can't sit through a full song on this thing. I pre-ordered two copies of it, and drove an hour one way to buy the DVD/CD set because I couldn't wait for the pre-order to come in I was so excited, but I was deeply disappointed when I got home. Joe is my favorite musician and I own everything he's released and love it all; which is why it is so depressing to say that this is the worst concert DVD I have ever seen. I guess I'm just not in the type of audience that this was meant to appeal to, but honestly I can't imagine who is? I hope for Joe's sake that the DVD isn't a sales flop, but I also hope that if/when he releases another, it's back to traditional format.

I am thoroughly relieved that the audio kicks major ass! I would have gladly paid the $7.99 from the DVD towards the CD to not have been let down by the video. I picked up a set of the Koss Portapro headphones that were the topic of discussion here a couple days ago, and am very anxious to play the new songs through them tomorrow. As hybes mentioned earlier, the "live- concert hall" sound is just amazing. This is what a live record should sound like IMO! And the way Joe plays the songs.... I can't stop playing 'I Just Wanna Rock, Overdriver, Ghosts, Time Machine', and 'Andalusia'. Mind Blowing!!

If you are on the fence about which to buy or whether to buy both, I would recommend buying the CD only. There is nothing bad about it!
DVD aside, I would say that this is the best live album Joe has done yet, but I know there are some die hard LISF fans here, so I will give it a couple days' thought and make my decision.

Hi, Joe. I'm a MAJOR fan of yours, and am desperate for help.

I must admit that I can't help feeling a little silly asking YOU about this, but you see, I'm in a terrible fix. I've had enough of looking at tabs and working through banal technique building exercises, and want to move on. However, my knowledge of music theory is limited, and I can't seem to find a promising source for enhancing my knowledge of it, whether online or in an institute. Every time I look, my search seems to finish in a dead end. It's scary, I know, but my frustration is so great that I'm beginning to get kinda disillusioned with the idea of music as a whole.

I'm 18 years old (and have been playing guitar since the past five years), live in Geneva, Switzerland, and am willing to go to ANY lengths necessary to acquire a concrete, fulfilling understanding of theory, in the hope that I'll finally be able to understand what's really happening when I play whatever I play, and eventually be able to guiltlessly compose my own music.

Wherever I have searched, be it workshoplive.com or countless other places, it has appeared that courses in jazz seem to be the ultimate solution to my predicament. Am I correct? Whether I'm right or wrong notwithstanding, here's hoping that you can point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

★ That baby cake is sick. Should eat it in a Stephen King kinda way..... or at least have bloodred filling

★ Haven´t listened to anything else than LIP since I got it, or as Skip says: 100% rotation. And I may add: LOUD

 ★ I´m over 40, Joe´s over 50, And I don´t think we´re gonna leave

★ In creative work, like a new dvd, it´s a good sign when loads of discussion arises. It means you´ve pushed the boundaries.
After some of my lightshows people went berserk. When doing a show with Third World I used purple and blue next to red-green-yellow.... sacrilege!

★ Thanks for the link to the Grammy interview and that great Slims video.

★ If you like Mermen you may also like 35007. Turn that upsidedown and you have....
Trippy, stonerrock, call it what you want. Or like they write: "Be prepared, as 35007 catapults your head into the next dimension. 35007 is a state of mind." (also on iTunes)

 ★ The dimpled one :-)

 ★ ★ Sun shines, birds whistle, daylight till 17.45, can it be......spring coming??????? ★ ★ .
